The "Bärenschenke" snack bar has been in the Aue zoo for many years. This was no longer sufficient for the large number of visitors and the decision was made by those responsible to build a new building to provide a better supply for the many visitors. Construction started on October 1, 1997 and topping-out ceremony was celebrated on November 28, 1997. After a record time of only 9 months, the opening was celebrated on July 12, 1998. The restaurant Einkehr Am Tiergarten is managed by the owner Ms. R.Eberlein. Erzgebirge hospitality can be taken literally here with Erzgebirge cuisine. The service staff is friendly and quick. Drinks came quickly and the food in a reasonable time. My wife had vegan carrot and potato pan with ginger and Ordered cashew nuts and I have Sauerbraten. For me it was the best Sauerbraten I ever had have eaten so far. The meat was fresh to my taste, the red cabbage prepared. A warm sunny autumn day with a visit to the zoo, eating on the terrace with a view of the floodplain and the zoo was slowly coming to an end. We will definitely be back.
