The service was even worse as a large party who came in 30 minutes after us finished their full course meal before we even got our dessert.
At the beginning of our meal, a large horsefly flew into my wine glass and was swimming in my Riesling. Being a restaurant of seemingly high caliber and price, it would have been nice for them to replace the wine. However, the server decided to take it back to the kitchen and scoop out the fly and give it back to me. The manager was there to advise him on the whole ordeal. They thought that I could not see them do this, but my fiance saw the whole thing over the counter.
When I was trying to explain to the server of the disappointment in how they treated us, a local helped translate the experience from English to German. The server eventually came clean and explained the process he went through to take the fly out and give me back the same wine but in a different glass. At that point, the manager came out and lied to the friendly local and told him that there was a miscommunication and they indeed replaced the entire for us. However, she did not know that her server came clean and explained the whole thing to everybody.
This experience shows the dishonesty and terrible character of the restaurant and manager to first try to give us a fly infested wine and then to lie and try to cover it up afterwards.
Please save yourself the money and more importantly the worst 3 hours of your dining life.
