Despite the store being part of a…read morefranchise, the shop is run by staff members which are friendly, therefore making the experience more personalised. Essentially, it is run like a local video shop rather than a chain. Staff are always happy to recommend a few movies. While their recommendations are not always the greatest, its the thought that counts. Most of the time, they are well stocked with new releases in addition to having plenty of older movies. They also sell overstocked releases that were previously new at discounted prices. In addition to movies, they all sell chips, chocolate and fairy floss (my fave). Video King Lindfield is right next to Tablespoon and is just behind Lindfield Shops. They accept local entertainment vouchers which is a major plus- I have rented many movies for free as a result of purchasing one of these community discount books!

Walking into this video store felt like stepping into a different era in the best possible way. No…read moreendless scrolling, no algorithms guessing what you might like, just shelves lined with stories waiting to be discovered. The staff actually talk to you, recommend films based on real conversations, and there's something special about holding a physical copy in your hands and committing to a choice. It made me realize how much we've traded convenience for connection. Here, kids aren't glued to screens they're wandering aisles, picking movies by their covers, asking questions, and learning patience. There's a sense of anticipation in taking something home, rewinding it (if you know, you know), and making it an event rather than background noise. This place reminded me that maybe the "old-fashioned way" wasn't so bad after all. It's slower, more intentional, and honestly, a lot more meaningful. The kind of experience that makes you think twice about how you want to raise your kids and what kind of memories you want them to have.

Nothing beats the feeling of actually flipping through albums (and I don't mean with your index finger on your iPhone). In a store like Title where cheeky categories pull you in a direction you might not have previously gone, you're more likely to stumble upon a treasure. I was tickled to find the film categories such as "Film Noir," "Holliwood Cool" and "French New Wave," proving that this shop houses much more than the latest Lindsey Lohan flick. With old yet rare films that might make your grandfather scratch his head in recollection, you can be prepared to jump out of the box. And if it's music you're after, don't be shy. Again, I would deter you from trying to source anything mainstream here, but you could just get lucky and happen upon your favorite obscurity... and on vinyl. Let's be honest, nothing sounds better than the honey smooth, yet vintagey rawness of a song played on vinyl. Grab a player at your local yard sale and head down to Title to bulk up your collection. You will be the instant envy of your coolest cool friends.

This place is basically an old style recordshop that has an awesome selection of CDs and DVDs. In fact, when it comes to DVDs they then to carry the harder to find ones, and the classic and cult films, which is pretty awesome. Certainly worth checking out, especially if you are retro like me.

Hello EB Games at midnight…read more You know you're a bit different when you're sitting in an empty shopping mall in the middle of nowhere with about 150 other people from 10pm waiting for the midnight release of Fallout 4. However, the EB Games store out here isn't much different from the EB Games stores around the city. There's games, consoles, PC and console gadgets. Lots of bobble heads and stuffed toys. And like most EB Games activities, very poorly managed. There was a lot of waiting around with numbers, and lines where you were meant to be in numerical order, but then it kind of failed after you got to person 43 - people came in and got numbers at 10pm but then disappeared by release. This confused the staff a wee bit. Apparently there was a draw, but we don't know when or how you competed nor do we know who won and when it was drawn. Apart from that, once release happened things seemed to travel rather smoothly and quickly and we were home before 1am and from what I could gather there were many happy faces at pipboys and lunch boxes and other odds and ends.

There are things that will make your friend laugh, inspire them to create, give hints on their travel destination or provide them with something beautiful to display in their home. Whatever the case, if you ever find yourself in a situation where you don't know what to buy someone (or perhaps you would like a self present), wander through Pentimento, it is sure to stimulate some original ideas.

Even without any other physical competition, it must be tough for them to survive in this digital age we live, but some of us do still buy CDs. I had to go inside and check it out when I saw Bjork's Biophilia poster in the window. It's only a little shop, but they still have quite a good selection with some interesting imports and rarities and a range of categories, even though they are eclectic selections, they even have some collectible vinyl editions. Also they have a nice little DVD range, predominantly the art house stuff, which is what interests me. Shops like this used to be everywhere, enjoy them before they're all swallowed up.
