We sampled three cheeses and I absolutely fell in love with the slightly famous and popular Gammel Knas cheese, it was so delicious, especially when paired with the jam included on our plates. Apparently it's become so popular that they've had trouble keeping it in stock for a few years since it's used in quite a few different local sandwiches. The service was helpful and kind, and I really wanted to purchase the cheese during our visit, but were going to Tivoli gardens after then flying back to Sweden so didn't want to run into any issues with it. All in all, Arla Unika is a absolute must-eat while in Copenhagen, especially for those who love a smooth buttery cheese.

I wished the staff took a little more time to explain the difference between the two cheeses to me, or even showed me more varieties (1 star off). There were no other customers there. If returning, I would ask questions about more varieties and try to sample more. I later found out that Arla Unika supplied cheese for one of my favorite restaurants in Copenhagen, so clearly they are well-established and knowledgeable about Danish cheeses. I heard about this company 3 years ago on a Travel Channel show. It's a brand from Denmark that offers many different flavors of candy & chocolate coated black licorice in salty, fruity, sweet, and even spicy combinations. I ordered a boxed selection of 9 different flavors on Amazon just out of curiosity. We ended up loving them. All the flavors taste so natural. The passionfruit is my favorite. My husband likes the Habanero one. Well, now I can say that we have a new favorite. It's the limited edition Banoffee. The nice lady who greeted us offered samples. She said we could try any flavors that we wanted. We were already sold on our favorite Banoffee dessert one. The licorice is a little on the pricey side, but it's so worth it. The customer service here is fantastic! They know that people will buy it once they try it. These flavor combinations are so unique, and especially if you like licorice. We ended up seeing another location at the Westfield Center in the HafenCity district of Hamburg. It would be yet another opportunity for a last in-store purchase before heading back home. Don't pass it up if you happen to see one. It's worth trying even if you're not a fan of licorice. It's the combination of flavors that make it so special.

Oh boy were these so delicious! They let you sample anything you want. Scandinavia takes their black licorice very serious! I bought a ton and almost put my luggage overweight. Found out they sell them on Amazon and eBay so I ordered a ton more when I got back to the states. These take a while to get used to but after a while they start to become an addiction. :-)
