Inside, the atmosphere was zombi-esque: it was filled with about 20 totally silent people using computers. The only sound was the clicking of keyboards. It was creepy! Imagine a French café with zero conversation, no laughter, no sociability. Granted, the coffee is ok, but there are many more cafés in Toulouse with coffee just as good, and better ambiance. So if your idea of an amusing café is to remain isolated in the lonely silence of your own little electronic world, welcome! But me, I'll never go there again.

They nail a cafe au lait, a cortado, an espresso... basically anything that involves coffee and/or milk. Good food is of course not hard to find, and La Fiancée is no exception. The chocolate chip cookie here is to die for. $500 reward to anyone who can convince the proprietor to reveal the recipe ;) Update: $1500 reward. A friend asked me to add his thoughts to my review: "Not everyone who runs a business runs it with such pride and enthusiasm, making the best out of their job, the food, the relationship with customers--running a cafe as best as one possibly can. A "virtuous" cafe, in the Aristotelian sense of the word."

The WiFi here is fast and works well, and there are two levels of seating, and enough tables and plugs to be comfortable. I've gotten avocado toast a few times here and it's been great. The coffee drinks and matcha lattes are also large - a little on the expensive side but they are pretty big. They have the option to add soy or almond milk for a 0,30€. They do have baked goods like banana bread of carrot cake but seem a bit expensive for a slice when I can make it at home. I did try the cookie but wasn't a fan of it. It was big, but the cookie was hard and overly sweet. Overall, one of my favorite coffee shops to come to in Toulouse to spend a few hours. I love getting a quick lunch or just a coffee or tea and sitting upstairs. They also have a nice brunch spread on the weekends and I think you can request ahead of time on a weekday, but I never got a chance to try that

I used the yelp app but had to wander the area for a bit before finding it sutuated under the Saint Georges Espace on the Occitana Place. The coffee is lovely but the outside seating is not great as you can be surrounded by skateboarders who are practicing their tricks and the odd motorbike driving past. Not the cafe's fault but not the most relaxing. Wifi is secured and good.

The place is actually decently large, with many tables and chairs so you're not fighting for space, and the ambiance is very cozy and homey. I love being surrounded by 2 long walls of books, and the decor is also lovely with different chairs, tables, etc. so that it's not all homogenous. They have WiFi, and other people are on their laptops working here, so it's a great place to come and get some work done. There are a lot of people just chatting here too, so it's not super quiet in here if you need a lot of silence to get work done (or just bring a pair of headphones). They serve salads and tartines here (but I have yet to try the savory food) and they are reasonably priced. I tried the leopard gateau and it was delicious - I had a similar pastry in Paris at Cyril Lignac and loved it -- I was looking for it all over in Toulouse and I've finally found it. If you love almond and chocolate, it's the perfect dessert/snack, and not too expensive at 2€. They have a wide selection of teas as well, and 4-5 choices of little cakes/sweets. All in all, one of my favorite places in Toulouse to spend an afternoon. I'll definitely be a regular here now!
