This branch of Nespresso is located in the L'illa shopping centre in Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia. I called in here with it being just a short walk from my hotel. Having been a big fan of Nespresso as brand for a while, I was delighted to find that my hotel room had a machine, and with my hotel only having a very limited selection, I decided to buy my own.
I originally had some issues with the service, and when I was ready to walk out, a member of staff approached me and she asked me if she could help, I told her what I was looking for, she spoke good English considering this is a store in Spain.
She invited me to try before I buy, so I tried the limited edition Aurora De La Paz with milk and sugar, she seemed quite forgetful and kept asking whether I wanted milk and sugar, but I'm happier she consulted me, even if it was many times to make sure she got my drink right, which was a decent portion for a free sample.
I really liked the coffee, it was intensity rating 5 out of 12 or so.
I was upset to find out the 60 euro coffee machine offer was only for residents of Spain, meaning I couldn't take it home with me being a resident of the United Kingdom, which I really struggle to understand.
The store overall does look nice, with all the pods in the window if you are passing on street level, and it looks nice too entering in Barcelona's L'illa centre.
My coffee pods worked out around 46 cents a coffee before adding into the costs of water, electricity, milk and sugar, which still is okay but considering it only seems to make a smaller cup, it appears to me to be a high end product.
The service in the store was okay, infact it was mixed, I did have some issues but there were some nice things about this store too such as how cool it looks passing when the store is closed or open, and the coffee quality but there are sadly too many negatives to warrant anything over a high two star rating. read more
