This is a part 2 review: This review is from my sister who was able to experience Neroli: Regina gave a completely relaxed and effective treatment. I came in with stress and left with not worry in my mind. The foot bath in the relaxation room started me out well. A refreshment and then heading into the dimly lit treatment room put me into a very relaxed mood right away. Gentle music and a warm table let me destress quickly. The facial with my choice of scented products was perfect and when Regina was finished I was so relaxed I had to work to clear my head and find the changing room. I usually go to a different Neroli location for pedicures but needed to get in sooner rather than later so I scheduled one for this location. I showed up a few minutes early, like I always do. They had a weird circular chair in the lobby area for people to sit on. It wasn't comfortable to sit on but it was the only option for seating. The person who was going to do my nails was about 10 minutes late to get me. She wasn't the most friendly nail technician but she got the job done. I did want the Callous Remover because my feet are bad but that wasn't done. I'm not sure if she didn't look at my file or if there wasn't enough time - it there wasn't enough time, that's not on me. I have been going to this spa for over 10 years. I must say in the last few years the quality of service (especially hair colorist and stylist) has diminished. Last time I was there the colorist destroyed my long virgin hair. And I didn't even get the color I asked for. Now I have to let it all grow out. Also they keep canceling appointment last minute. I asked for an email confirmation that I never recieved. called to confirm appts and my whole appt messed up! I canceled the whole day and will go somewhere else. Scheduled a wash and style for my daughter over a month ago for her graduation.. Got a call this weekend stating her stylist was not available and they need to reschedule, when I called the apathetic receptionist stated "oh yeah we can't do that day at all, we need to move you to a different day". I told her that no that would not work as this hair style was for her graduation that day, and could they see her at a different location or time that day. Her response was and I quote"nope" and then "so should I just cancel this appointment for you then". For the prices they charge they should have a little customer service, especially since this was an appointment made weeks ago. Luckily I called dry bar in the 3rd ward and they were helpful and happy to give us an appointment. I wont be wasting my time and money at neroli anymore. read more

Terrible service from the second I walked in. My stylist Tori is new and she took 4 hours to color my hair from dark brown to black. She stained my forehead with hair color then told me there was no more color remover. She used a very small comb and I have a lot of hair, every stroke to the head was very painful and my hair kept getting tugged, seemed like there was no awareness that she was hurting her client. When I asked for my hair to be styled and curled at the end, she acted like it was an inconvenience and ran out of time. She didn't use any hair product in my hair, and dry rubbed my forehead with a towel and shampoo to try and get the stain off my skin which did not feel very good. Overall the experience was by far the worst Ive ever had at any salon. I love Aveda and their products, tori seemed to know very little about anything. She was prepared for nothing, even down to having a normal brush. She missed strands on my hair as well, after that long of a service I would expect for my hair to be fully colored and even. The only thing I was satisfied with were the products I purchased afterwards. I will have another salon fix what Neroli did to me, entire day off wasted. read more

I have struggled for years finding a stylist who is great with color and also knows how to layer long hair. I always seem to find one or the other. She did an amazing job taking my hair from a washed out ombré to a darker color for fall. I have pretty straight, fine hair. I'm always looking to make my hair look thicker/fuller and often wear clip in extensions. Shauna did a great job layering my hair so the extensions blend well. I see Shauna for my haircuts. She does a great job. I don't think I am fussy or ask for anything impossible but it has been hard to find a decent hairdresser. I am very happy with her. I have had manicures and pedicures here. I thought the price and quality were similar to any other salon I had visited. I have also had massages here. They were just ok. So I am still searching for a place that has a good massage. The online reservation system is annoying. I don't get what the issue is. I have tried to book services and it says they are booked for weeks but when I call there are numerous openings. I would really love it if the online system worked since that would be so convenient. read more

Blatantly uneven haircut and TERRIBLE customer service. I had a haircut with Sarah - she was very nice and seemed to do a good job. Except that when she was finished, one side was WAY longer than the other. I thought maybe it just looked that way because she had curled it a little. But when I got in my car and looked in the mirror, it was clearly lopsided. I went back in and she trimmed it a little, but said that since it was a little curled she couldn't be sure if it was even. Really? Wouldn't you do everything you could to make sure it's fixed? She said that if it was still lopsided the next time I blowdried it I should book another trim with her. I'm sorry, but I'm not coming in THREE times to get a haircut that's not lopsided. An even length is a basic expectation of any haircut. I called the next day and asked to speak to a manager. I expected to be accommodated the same day so my haircut could be salvaged. The manager (or whoever was on the phone) was very rude and said no, I need to book a trim with the same person. I explained that I'm not comfortable going back to her since she was unable to get the cut even after two attempts. He said that's what happens when someone cuts your hair for the first time. REALLY? He would not make any effort to get me in and was very rude and short. I told him I would have to take my business elsewhere and he could not care less. This situation made me very uncomfortable and frustrated. I was very surprised that literally no effort was made to make it right. Very poor customer service. Time to find a new salon! read more

Neroli was amazing for my wedding! I had to rebook with them 4x due to COVID adjusting my wedding date. They were SO accommocodating to help make my big day unforgettable. They ended up adjusting schedules so my bridal party could have both their hair and make up done (initially they didn't have avails). Everyone in my bridal party loved their hair and make up. Well, in the future, I will only be going to this location for products. It is very close to my house and I would give it 5 stars for available products. However, I will not be going back for any service... ever. If you want to go a Neroli, go to the Bayshore location. The service I got was the chakra reflexology pedicure. Here is what my $88 got me: * waited nearly 10 minutes past my appointment time on a very awkward couch in the lobby area * my technician was very gruff and apathetic * when I was finally seated, I still waited another 10ish minutes for her to get ready * my chakra "reading" was uneventful * I got a 30 minute massage of her mainly massaging my toes and the top of my calf as she zoned out to the floor * the lights were so bright in the room it was hard to relax *lastly, she didn't even get all the nail polish off and last night I had to do my own cuticles because I guess she couldn't be bothered by that either. read more

Maybe I'm not the target clientele... I had an impossibly difficult time using the online and app version of the scheduling system that I was told to use when I called to make an appointment. The woman had no interest in taking my appointment over the phone. After weeks - not even kidding - of trying to schedule a massage (system would constantly say nothing was available even when I selected "any date" and "any time", I finally gave up and scheduled a facial instead. My skin doesn't look or feel any different after one of the higher priced facials. While the amenities were nice they weren't top tier. The hair dryer provided was a tangled mess with a broken handle exposing all the wiring. The entire building vibrated in a way that felt like you were in an earthquake which was disconcerting as well, especially if you've been in one. I expected the product pushing, which, of course, came when I went to pay. I did not expect the automatic assumption that I wanted the products to be added to my bill and had to state that I specifically did not want them. The esthetician was nice, this is not a review of her service, it's just that the products didn't really do anything for me. read more

Overall, my experience was nice. But, for the price, I had expected to be more impressed. It was a standard Aveda salon, but the hairdressing area lack comfort. The atmosphere was too "cold" for me. I prefer salons with a warm, cozier feeling. This place was not that. My hairdresser was nice, but didn't offer much for suggestions. I have been going to Neroli in Brookfield for probably...10+ years for various salon services and I just absolutely love it. Now, I am totally bias because I refuse to go to other salons that aren't Neroli or the Aveda Institution, so I think it is the best, but it really is the only one I have experienced. That being said, the service at the front desk has always been pleasant, the tea and infused water they offer is delicious, the changing rooms, bathrooms, and steam showers always clean, and the relaxation room is always...relaxing. I love that you can spend all damn day there between one to two services, a complimentary foot soak, time in the relaxation room, steam shower, and a make-up touch up. Here are the people I would recommend for various services. 1. Shauna for your hair stylist. JUST DO IT. Not only is she friendly and engaging, she has always cut my hair perfectly. She doesn't scrub at my scalp, or burn it with hot water. She has NEVER combed out one of my earrings, which is a huge deal. She cuts and styles my hair the way I want it and offers suggestions that have always turned out. She is a steal in price for the service you get 2. Jen for your masseuse. Again, just a great personality, and I have been a customer of hers for a while now. She is both powerful and gentle at the same time. She really listens to your pain and responds appropriately. I have a real messed up body from sports and stress and she doesn't shy away from telling me the truth and helping me heal. She has always given me suggestions on how I can help myself outside of her appointments and I completely trust her. You definitely need that when someone is working on something as delicate and getting the knots out of your neck 3. Ashley as your waxer. The sweetest disposition for the gnarliest job. She is great that completely tearing out your hair while calming discussing every day life with you. Frankly, I think it is hilarious. I have never had a bad wax at Neroli and the waxer I used to see, I think she moved. But Ashley has been a great replacement and I cannot wait to be back. And she tolerates my copious amount of swearing, which is a plus. Overall, everything has always been lovely, which is way I spend all my extra cash there. Booking an appointment with Neroli is always easy on the phone! Had a haircut with Shana Marie (?). I waited quite a while for her to collect me for the appointment, and I got to listen to young college students talk about courses... Yay! She was friendly and did a fantastic job on my hair. I appreciate that she didn't try to sell me all the products she used. I like Neroli a lot and I'll definitely be back to this location. Parking is excellent here, and it's in the same shopping center as a Sendiks. I definitely like this location best. read more

I got an eyebrow waxing and a pedicure from this location. After reviewing my eyebrows after the appointment I noticed the esthetician clearly trimmed one area of the brow way to short leaving what looks to be a gaping hole in the hair. It will definitely require filling in. The pedicure was nice but the callous removal was a light touch, to say the least - like a paintbrush on the sole of my foot. The key elements of the service: scrub, callous removal and the massage were all a little lackluster. I'm not sure what has happened to this location but the services definitely were not worth the $91.00 I paid. I'll just do both at home from now on! read more

The next day (please see pics) my nails looked as if I had not been serviced and today they look as if I need a manicure again. The technician was very nice and attentive however; her technique especially for the price was lacking. I accumulate a lot of cuticle and even though I shared that information up front it did not help. I'm very disappointed as I am new to the area and I am looking for a place to go regularly. By far the worst time I have had getting a mani-pedi. I wish I knew the name of the person to avoid, but sadly, she did not introduce herself. The appointment was for 9:30. We arrived at 9:20. I was finally taken back at 9:50 with no apologies or explanations. I wanted gels but was told there was not time for that. The pedi salt scrub literally involved her dumping salt from a shaker onto her glove, moving it around my feet twice and then putting it back into the water. Don't bother to get the "extra" service. There are better places out there. I had polish on my nails, which also seemed to inconvenience her. She informed me that she couldn't complete my manicure service -even with a regular manicure- because she would have to take off the polish. When we moved to the manicure station, she informed me that her next appointment had cancelled, so she could do the gel if I wanted, but first she needed to take off the polish. She filed my nails down and wrapped them (all without making any eye contact, conversation, or even a smile) and then left the room for about 25 minutes. She came back and tried to scrape my pinky nail polish off, but was unsuccessful. She wrapped it back up and disappeared again. At this point I had been on site for over 1.5 hours. When she returned, she scrapped, filed, and buffed my nails thin and said she wouldn't have time for anything but regular polish because my polish removal took so long. I let her know that I usually just rub nail polish remover with a cotton ball on it and it comes right off. She seemed to think the nail polish (opi gel from another store) was to blame. By that time I was ok with it because I was concerned about how much filing she had done. She said she couldn't do the regular 3 coats because it would take too long. She finally finished and moved me to the drying couch after almost 3 hours. She did not tel me how long to stay, didn't take out the toe paper, didn't even speak to me. No one asked how the service was up front, and I looked for a suggestion box, but found none. Please watch out. This was a VERY expensive, VERY long mani-pedi and the service was terrible. I am so disappointed in this experience and am shocked that this was an Aveda approved representative. I have never felt less appreciated than I did today. I left feeling like I was an inconvenience to the girl and the shop. read more

Overall I was not impressed at all. For the price I paid I expected to have an excellent job done. Not really. I did eyelash and brow tint and eyebrow wax. It was done in two different areas of the spa by two different aestheticians, which is really strange. I had that service done many,many times before, and it always was done in one session with one person. The first part - tint - was done in main hair salon area (which is really loud and uninviting) at the hair washing station(!). The lighting is definitely inadequate in that area - but that is not an excuse for the poor tinting job done. My upper lashes are barely touched, and I have stains from dye on my skin - way higher than one would try to cover it up with eyeliner! Lower lashes are not even touched by color! Usually after good tint job I didn't have to use mascara on daily basis - not this time. Total waste of money! When I said that I would like a darker tint, I was told that my next appointment (brow wax) is about to start NOW and that I need to go (!) I was rushed to the front desk to meet the next person. The brow wax was done in different part of salon - where I felt like I entered a spa - finally! Very professional and friendly aesthetician led me to a comfortable, quiet room with a cosmetologist bed and lighting adequate for focused face work. That part was not bad at all, but the tint job totally ruined the whole experience. I don't mind paying top price for job well done. If I pay a lot and leave the salon looking worse than before(stains on eyelids) - there is something wrong here! read more

Historically I would've given this location 5 stars, but just before the holidays I went in for my normal hair appointment and the experience was a disaster. First of all, they booked my appointment wrong. I've been going here for 3 years and get the same service every time but somehow when I booked it this time they booked the wrong thing. When trying to work it out, the woman at the front was rude and basically blamed me for their mistake. My stylist got involved and confirmed it was their error and apologized but still the other staff were rude. Then normally someone offers to take your coat and give you water or tea, none of which happened. I also had what was supposed to be a 80 minute massage after my hair appointment which became 50 because of the scheduling issues. The massage was as the worst I ever had at this location. The massage therapist was clearly not trained well and unprofessional talking the entire time about her life struggles even after I didn't respond and gave no inclination of wanting any talking. Finally when I went to pay I was asked by the manager 'how was everything?'. She then indicated she was aware of the scheduling issue so besides that how was everything and I said my stylist was as always great but the rest not so good. She apologized and asked if I wanted to schedule my next appointment which normally I would, but I did not. I was not going to write this review but I'm talking with other Neroli regulars I've discovered they have also had unpleasant experiences here recently. I'm not sure what's going on. I never minded paying more because you truly felt pampered her but after my last experience I'd be hesitant at best to return. Accidents happen but it's how you recover that matters. Went in for a massage last week with Ericka at the Brookfield location. I have been there several times, but it seems the more I go the worst the service gets. When I was taken into my massage room, I was pleased that my masseuse put a heater on my bed. By policy, she took the required time to go over where I hold stress, where it want focus, and if I had allergies. When the massage started she rang these bells and said "I'm going to ring these bells to clear the negative energy in the room" I'm not sure what that meant, if she thought I had a negative attitude, or if it's so,etching spiritual that she practices, but I could've done without it. She started massaging my back with extreme pressure, I had to ask her a couple times to use lighter pressure, because it was painful. She also maneuvered my body slowly and gently do to stretches with my arms and legs - I did not like this at all, I was there to get a massage, not get stretched. The stretches were also very uncomfortable positions. When she was massaging my neck, I think she was trying to hit pressure points to relieve stress, this was also extremely painful. To top off my relaxing massage, it was very noisy outside my room. I'm unsure if it was staff members or other customers, but several conversations were heard throughout my massage. I told the lady at check out, and she gave me a $10 off coupon to use for next time - if I didn't have a gift card to use, I wouldn't be going back. To finish my massage, the masseuse also rang her bells again, and dropped them so it made a loud clunking sound - not the way I wanted to wake up from my massage, very unrelaxing. This location also has steam showers for guests to use. I used to love them, and it was part of the reason I went to neroli, but it is not a deal breaker for me anymore. read more

After reading all these great reviews, I was excited to try out this salon in hopes to find a new hairdresser since mine had not returned from maternity leave in quiet sometime. My appointment was with Valerie. Very nice, but my hair was absolutely awful! She has no idea what she is doing. I am very disappointed that a salon that is highly rated and scaled that it is would even have a person with her skill level working there. I know we all need to start somewhere.... But my goodness is she terrible. All I needed was a root touch up.... I had long blonde healthy hair with a considerable amount of out grow, (because of waiting so long for my original stylist to come back) and I left with copper roots, and HUGE orange blotches of color at the root throughout my entire head! The worst part is, is that she didn't even have the decency to say she had made a mistake! It wasn't until I got home and actually starting moving my hair around that I noticed this! Anyways, I call to have my hair corrected and I'm told "I'm so sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, Valerie is a new stylist." This again left me very disappointed because when I had scheduled my appointment I specifically asked for a stylist with ATLEAST 4 years of experience. I had to come back to have my hair corrected. Michelle did a great job at doing what she could to correct it. I unfortunately still have the blotches of color in my hair, and my hair is still not the color I wanted. I was told to come back and pay for another service to finish covering up all the damage that she has done. My hair now feels like straw, fairly damaged, and not a color that makes me feel confident. I've gotten my hair done here (Cameron), my eyebrows, and my nails (Simone). Every experience has been really nice. Cameron really knows how to deal with my naturally curly hair and the eyebrow wax was quick and easy. Simone did an amazing job on my nails. I've never had non-gel nail polish stay on this long (5 days and counting) without chipping. I highly recommend Neroli for all your salon needs. read more
