I needed a license plumber due to home insurance requirement to do this installation or I would've done it myself. They were responsive when I talked to them through Yelp projects. I was shocked with how much I was quoted because it was almost double the price of the automatic shut off valve device I paid for. So I had to confirm that the price that was given to me was just to switch out the bad unit with the new one. They didn't have to do anything else like run new pipes or replace anything else. When I communicated to them that the quote was high, they asked how much did i wanted to pay. I thought they would try to be more reasonable since the name is The Affordable. I give them a range based on the prices from other plumbing company that I reached out to and they couldn't do it which I understand they can set their own prices. Maybe for big projects, they'll give more of a reasonable price which is why they have great reviews on Yelp but just to replace a bad automatic shut off valve with a brand new one, I think it was overprice so I used another plumbing company where they were very reasonable on the price.

Even though in the end we didn't touch the shower, it was mainly because of Ruslan's detailed explanation of what the work would entail.

The quote was then way more than what we were expecting so we didn't move forward with the work. We were then told they had a $75 cancellation fee - something we were never told over the phone. I've never had this happen before. Even with our other handyman, plumbers, etc. - if you can't do the work, you don't get paid for NOT doing the work. We were told that this would cover gas expenses - why take a job that is out of your network? They knew our address well before coming out. Also, some of our intake conversations were over text, so I wish we discussed the job over photos so they knew what we wanted to do in terms of the job and give us a proper quote. Just felt very scammy and weird after them asking for money without starting the job.

Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. Shoutout to Mario! They really respected our home and were very considerate of us during construction. Even after everything was finished, they guaranteed that they would come back and fix anything that needed fixing. Cannot recommend them enough if you want to improve or build your new home!

Yelp was a great resource and I narrowed down my choices to LA Wifi Guys, as their information gave me the most confidence. Made an appointment and David came out. Really liked his approach. Honest and transparent and not hustling me for upsells. He described my options clearly and it was easy to decide what I wanted. Not cheap, but very fair considering the higher quality solution and more experienced installation. It actually cost notably less than my original set up, which was done 6 years ago and had less features and most of all turned out crappy. David gave me an estimate for parts delivery, which turned out to be exact, and we made the install appointment for the day after. He came in and was very polite, careful and steadfast. He said he could, but went and missed the first appointment. I had to text him to ask if he was still coming and he said he'd come at the end of the day. Great, just flaked on the appointment but whatever, let's get it fixed. But he texted back that he couldn't fix it after all but wanted to charge me a service fee. I replied back that he told me could repair it, only to follow up with he can't, but he wants to charge me? So all in all, not great.

They were a bit late for starters. Unfortunately, when they came and opened my brand new box, there was a significant crack in the wood that couldn't be fixed or ignored so they canceled the appt. at no cost to me and told me to give them a txt or call when I returned this item and purchased a new one. I really appreciated this and was excited to hire them again. About a month later, I finally got a new TV center - this time I checked it out for any issues and it was fine. I txted the owner on a Friday, the day I got the new package. He said he'd see about availability for the weekend. I knew this was short notice, so I wouldn't have been bothered if I needed to wait for the following weekend. But he never followed up with me that day. Not a huge deal so I just txted him on Saturday and asked if he had any updates. He completely ignored me. On Sunday, I sent a txt saying I hadn't heard from him.... He finally responded and said he'd see if someone was available. Hours later.... radio silence. I then sent ANOTHER txt that day and he just completely ignored me. Like are you kidding dude???? I could've reached out to another company that weekend if you didn't have availability or didn't want to work with me. Just like you... my time is money. I sat around that weekend waiting for you to tell me if/when your team was coming and clearly that was a waste of my time & energy. Thankful for the great quote, the team's overall professionalism and the assistance I got initially, but leading customers on and then ghosting them is seriously just rude... I'm sure there's a ton of people who have had better experiences. I'm assuming mine is a fluke - bad timing or they're just mad about the first time they sent a team and didn't get to do any work.
