Miguel was honest (a different estimator told me the whole house needed tuckpointing like yesterday, but Miguel explained why that wasn't true). Once Miguel and his crew started, they were here every day until the project was finished. The crew is knowledgeable, courteous and just nice to work with. Miguel is quick to respond by text and he answers his phone too! We plan on having Miguel come back to continue the work and add a fireplace to the backyard. Please call Rivas Masonry. They do great work!

If you ever are in a situation where you suspect mold, START with a mold specialist - Curt, instead…read moreof a generic home inspection company. He is in a position to guide the entire process - which was not my experience with the generic home inspection company. I was in a situation where we were starting to cycle thru mold testing cycles - it was getting very expensive (at ~ $500 a pop) and we were not getting any guidance about where the source of the mold could be from the testing company - just that the results say there is toxic mold. Curt was able to guide me - tell me what most likely happened, what to do / what not to do, and guide the mold remediation so we could be clear that we had cleaned up fully - so we would know if there was an additional source of mold. As a result of his guidance - we were able to completely clean up all the mold and get out of the cycle of mold testing. In hindsight, I wish I had known about Curt and would have used him for the MOLD testing because he provided clear guidance about how to handle the situation. I did not get this from the generic home inspection company. As I had already started with an home inspection company, Curt didn't charge me for his guidance. Curt is a true professional and knows his business. It was a pleasure to work with him. Curt did not charge me for his guidance.

I contacted Curt on Thursday afternoon, and he immediately returned my call. Curt was leaving Friday for an extended vacation, but made it a priority to come to my house Thursday evening to complete the testing. It was super easy, and Curt set expectations for next steps. Within a few days we confirmed my house is heathy and not to worry. Curt is awesome!!

They were very professional and through. After installing the new water heater and value (as mine had been leaking for a while), they cleaned everything up. Carlos explained how the water heater works as it was different than the old one. Even better he charged a great price, significantly less than others and the equipment (the hot water heater) was better than the other plumbers were going to use. I have asked for extra business cards, as I plan to recommend Carlos to all my neighbors and friends. Thank you so much Carlos.

The things I appreciated most is the speed of the service during the cold spell that prolly spread their crew quite thin and excellent communication. Why is the proper communication so important: When anything fails in your home you are often at loss and quite confused... it was reassuring to have Mike describe what he was seeing as he inspected our AC! It was equally great for Paul to tell us specific steps they were to take and stick to the self appointed time line! It not only reassures the homeowner; it can help us plan around the emergency. Knowing that Superior is a local company is another plus: you know their crew works in the area, probably can quickly utilize local team/stores that offer parts. You obviously can guess that I am writing this review from a very warm house where an AC motor is going strong!

The job finished when they said it would finish. I'm used to taking whatever quote I get and doubling the predicted timeframe to estimate when the project will really finish. Adolfo's completely changed the grading and added drainage in front of our house to channel rain water away from the house (and out of my basement), solving a long-standing problem. Then they built us a new patio and walkways that make our 45 year old house look brand new from the outside. We will definitely call them for our next project!

We took a liking with them with our interaction with Mike. We scheduled an estimate with Edson, he was on time and polite and also we enjoyed Edson's honesty in his answers when I probed questions about ditra-heat flooring options. They seem knowledgeable enough to entertain our questions, which again we appreciated. That shows that they are willing to plan with us as opposed to others we have worked with that only does what they know how to do. They provided the itemized estimate/invoice, which is what we look for in contracted jobs. Check. And they were coherent in their emails, which is also a plus. It's nice to be able to physically walk into a location and talk to someone there. We are still on the contract stage but we liked what we see so far, even tho the price is a bit higher than other ones we've got. However, they seem to not have seen a contract before which is a bit surprising to us. We are waiting to see if their big boss agree with what we had down in paper, which protects both parties. I will update if we both decide to move forward with the job. Update: GFS responded to us saying they don't want to sign the contract. This kinda makes us raise an eye brow, because our generic AI drafted contract is super reasonable. Stuff like if there are any changes, it has to be communicated in writing. I don't get why. I think their refusal to agree in writing really makes us worry and doubt their reliability... we ain't about to drop $20k when there's no reassurance! Too bad I really liked the two people we talked to so far!
