Haven't gotten a cut in while but I showed up randomly after work and Gabriel was ready to cut. Literally didn't know what I was going for but he helped me out after I showed him some general photos. Dude was young and full of energy. Seemed to be well raved about in the yelp reviews so I was glad I ended up being his client. Very comfortable and rather quick. Got in and out in a matter of minutes but still kept the professionalism and precision. The cut was $14. Definitely going to be coming back here for all my cuts. Love this place read more

Been going here for a couple of years. I have tried cuts from most of the guys working here. The staff is friendly and chatty - it's a real barber shop! A couple of times I have seen Nelson call my name as I walked by, scissors in one hand, water bottle in the other, and scream: "I'll be free in 20, looks like you need a cut". Staff seem to get along with each other. Glad that I am not even a block away from them. read more

They don't wash hair here, but i had a latina lady cut my hair. While her English is pretty limited, she understood what i wanted and cut my hair well. She shaved the back of my neck and side burns, and cleaned those areas up with an alcohol swab. The cut was $14, so i just gave her $20 to keep the change. Very good VALUE at this place. read more

My hair is marvelously on fleek after getting a cut at Nelson's. While the shop is a bit bare bones, my barber was polite, did an amazing job, and finished off my edges with a hot shave--leaving me looking and feeling absolutely fabulous. I had intended to wait a full year between hair cuts, but a new gig next week meant a new haircut this week. I did a little online search, and everyone seemed to agree that this place knew their stuff. Plus it's two blocks from my apartment, so I was sold. Nelson's is every bit as good as everyone else says they are. I gave some vague directions on how I'd like my hair cut, and the lady knocked it out of the park. Bad rash all around hairline and face after cut. I have never got irritated or anything after a haircut this is my first time. This place must be DIRTY!!!!! Using dirty clipper and combs!! My barber was on vacation so I decided to swing by this place. I remember seeing Nelson at G&G years ago. So I went in to try them out. He referred Loui to me. I told him I wanted a fade. Loui did an okay job cutting my hair. I was explaining to him how I wanted it and it looked like he was bothered. He did not leave it how I wanted it. Attitude stinks. Personality is not fit to deal with customers. This is just my opinion of him, for all I know he could be the nicest guy on earth, but wasn't my experience with him. read more

he's really really good with kids. He's able to give my two and half year old son a haircut which is (quite honestly) next to impossible. He has a nice approach and my son looks great when he's done. Before I found his barber shop, we went to a few places which are strictly for kids, and it always ended badly because my son panics with the sounds and strangers around him. It was torture for the both of us. Apart from this (which is a huge deal), is the customer service. It's pretty good. They don't make you wait and they're very nice and super cool. read more

I have now been to this establishment 3 different times and had my hair cut by 3 different barbers. Every single experience has been outstanding in regards to time, service, courtesy, and price. Gabriel was the last gentleman to cut my hair and I believe he made significant improvements based upon what I had requested and Nelson is always welcoming and attentive at the front. Copying and pasting my same review from google reviews. DO NOT GO HERE! I went there while my boyfriend got his hair cut and a hot shave. The fade on his neck and sideburns was uneven. The hot shave he received was SO BAD that he bled ALL OVER. They went in on his face with no preparation and basically a dry razor. To make matters even more worse they started to sprayed him down with alcohol to try and stop the blood (PAINFUL!) then got shaving cream all over his shirt [the little bit they did use]. He spent almost an hour icing his face when we got home. The Barber who cut his hair was in a huge rush and highly unprofessional "had to meet his girlfriend at the mall" as he stated he also took a lengthy phone call half way through the hot shave while my boyfriend continued to bleed all over. After we got home and properly asses the damage we were both mortified. IT WAS SO BAD I HAD TO TAKE PICTURES as if he had been assulted. Some areas of his face still had patches of hair. It looked like he had been punched in the face. My boyfriend went back to the shop to try and get his money back (still bloody and brused) THEY REFUSED, he had to continue to state the OBVIOUS until they then gave him back ONLY $5 then eventually $10 more (not even close the full $25 +tip he has paid)----WTF, just insanely poor service and the most painful experience---No one should have to go through that. Also the place is FILTHY. There were at least 10 or more clients hair all over the floor and in all the cracks and crevasse of the barber chairs. read more

Walked past this barber shop several times and it always seemed busy. (Which is a good thing) I needed a haircut at short noticed on Saturday, so I decided to try it out! A very friendly man (which I assumed was Nelson) welcomed me and told me that someone would be with me ASAP! The lady cut my hair, and each time she switched blades she sanitized! This guy cut my hair in 5 minutes. He was clearly in a rush and he missed a lot of spots. Not cool.

I went to this shop because my usual barber shop was closed. While waiting I watched other barbers in the shop perform haircuts with questionable technique, which should have been my first concern. The barber who worked on me shaped my mustache thinner on one side than the other and crooked, leading me to need to shave later. He didn't switch out blades between my head and face which gave me tons of cuts and bumps. He also left hair all over my face and I had to clean up the blood from the cuts myself. Additionally the skill required to give me my skin fade was not there. My haircut was merely adequate. He was very friendly and joked, but not a barber I would go back to or recommend. read more

nelson and gabriel provide excellent service at amazing prices ($14 a cut!!!!!). they show genuine care for their patrons and about them in general. i highly recommend any dude to come here! they listen to what you want and love having a conversation with you while getting your cut. there are other barbers here (good too i assume) but i would try your first and future cuts with either the father, nelson or the son, gabriel. they are both phenomenal at what they do! read more

Do not go to this place unless you want to be disrespected. Right from the get go the clown show began. Someone told him to give me bad service, without a doubt, but we'll save that for another time. He cut my sideburns crooked and too short, (after I showed him where to cut he ignored my directions, then cut high and crooked) also the back was cut on a slant and the overall haircut is uneven. Even a small rash has started which means he used dirty clippers as well. He also asked if I wanted a razor "to the" neck while he had his straight edge out, did I ask for a shave? The answer is, No, I did not. Then he proceeded to ask if I wanted to see the "back", doesn't a barber normally show the back of your haircut, isn't that normal protocol? Oh, that's right he said he forgot, just to make a point. It's disgusting that in this day and age someone would go along with this kind of bush league tactics and act as a tool for some deranged puppeteer.
