After a recommendation from a friend, we signed our son up for Nelson Driving School. We found them to be very polite at the front desk and quick with correspondence regarding classes and scheduled driving time. My son found the classes to be helpful and really liked his instructors who he drove with. He found it really easy to ask the instructors questions, though he said sometimes they were a little heavy on the amount of videos they showed. We would recommend them. read more

What a HORRIBLE company with people who clearly are unhappy with their jobs. From the moment we walked in, we were treated extremely rudely, and the woman who gave my son his driving test was the absolute WORST. She was extremely rude, callous, impatient and made my child extremely uncomfortable and left him in tears after his test. This felt like a total scam and I warn anybody from taking their child or new driver to these people who treat them with such contempt. I will make it my personal mission to let as many people as I can in Bellingham know that absolutely under no circumstances use their services. I understand not passing someone while they are trying to parallel park and thinking we may hit the car in front of us. However, I did not hit it, I was very close so I do understand not passing because of that but the male instructor screamed so so loud and frantically, his body recoiled and everything, you could have sworn I was trying to actively kill us. It was the most anxiety inducing unprofessional scream I've ever heard. I tried to keep my composure but it honestly really shook me and felt very unprofessional coming from someone who is supposed to be a teacher and keep calm under pressure. read more

Driving school was decent as well as customer service but the woman who does the driving test was not a nice person. My daughter does not do well with any kind of testing. Unfortunately this lady made it 100% worse. I am assuming she hates her job or just a very unhappy person. In my opinoon she has no business giving tests. We were better off taking her somewhere else. read more

Was told by the lady at the front desk they were not obligated to tell us that our front window had to roll down before we had already paid for the test. Were told before that we had to get our seat fixed first as well as a list of other things that needed to work, unbroken windshield, turn signals etc. not sure why window wasn't mentioned and then told they didn't have to tell us even though they would lose their license if they did a test any other way. While waiting for a friend to do a practice test heard the lady at front and man going back and forth about customers making rude and racist remarks about Asian families, ie "and bring your whole family" after hanging up with a customer. My daughter was on a drive with the owner, and during the drive he called my daughter a rotten little child, he thought it was funny. As a parent I find this behavior unacceptable, as a consumer how can they treat their customers like that. read more

Very unprofessional!!! Lady at the front desk has her phone ringing constantly while people are testing. Very distracting!! The male instructor is on his phone talking extremely loud. Don't use this facility. read more

I was really impressed with my experience at Nelson's. They did a great job assessing my needs for improvement and were a very personable staff! They were very upfront with what the requirements were to pass the test and did a great job preparing me for it. I improved my driving skills and also walked away with a lot more confidence in my driving. I would definitely recommend Nelson's to anyone seeking their license! read more

The people here are very friendly. They made it possible for me to get my license. I did a lesson for two hours and they told me what I needed to work on and fixed it in the lesson. Don Whitney is also one of the most funny drivers ed Teacher's. He was cracking jokes every now and then, which made me not as nervous. Huge scam. They let you pay for all the tests up front and don't tell you if you fail the first test you can't refund the other tests. "We don't do refunds" was all I could get. Lady at the front counter was nice but didn't explain anything up front. My kid just spent two hours there, spent $120 after tons of studying and came away with nothing. They didn't even tell her what she got wrong on the test so I guess we'll just study the whole book. Thanks Nelson's! read more

We would definitely not recommend this driving school, because we saw the Nelson Driving School car driving erratically on I-5, going 85 miles per hour and passing in the right lane. Even if it wasn't a student driving, one would think that you wouldn't want to drive like that when your car has the name of a driving school on it. read more

Have sent all of my kids to Nelson Driving School and have been nothing but happy with the service I have received there. They have competent instructors and having them do the written and driving tests right there in the office with no long wait at the DMV was so handy and easy. I have recommended them to all my friends. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would!! Terrible customer service. Rude and give untrustworthy information to the students. They lied and told me that my sons license fee was part of the package that we bought, which was ridiculously expensive. Come to find out when I go to get my sons license that they are not included and cost an additional $108.00. When I called to complain about it, they blamed me and treated me very rudely. They even told me that telling other people about my bad experience would make me look bad. They do not have a monopoly in the driving school field, and even though I have never used the other schools, I have to hope that they are better than Nelson's!! read more
