    Site D

The four walk-in sites have stunning views that will take your breath away. 5 stars for that. The walk-in sites are perched on bluffs with views overlooking the Mississippi River and extending out to Iowa. Some consider these the most scenic campsites in WI. They feel quite secluded. You are surrounded by trees. For sites A, B and D, you have a short walk to the parking area. Site C has a long trail leading to it. Site D is the best. It is the most spacious and gets the more light at dusk than the others. The campground provides large, easy-to-use wheelbarrows to help you carry your supplies to the walk-in sites. There is a squat toilet for these sites that is convenient. These sites are too dangerous for small children, in my opinion. There are trains that run at night. Maybe 4 times a night? Our group thought that they were much less noticeable after the first night, so maybe it just takes getting used to. The bathrooms are very clean. They have showers, flush toilets, and running water. Wyalusing State Park is 30 minutes north and offers amazing trails with waterfalls. Potosi Brewery/Restaurant is 10 minutes north and is nice.

Beautiful park. Quiet wooded campsites. Nice views of the Mississippi. Do not buy the wood in the campsite. It does not burn.
