I went on line and was very impressed not only by the wonderful, tasteful offerings, but also seeing that Cathy models all of the clothing herself, instead of a model half her age! How nice is that? It's so refreshing to see the clothing modeled by a woman who is about my age! I ordered 2 maxi dresses with ruffled collars, Aqua Lane and the Black and Beige. I am full-figured and was apprehensive to order them thinking they may be too clingy, but I took the chance and they are just perfect! I ordered size 1X. I wore one of the dresses to a family event and received so many compliments! The ruffle collar is pretty and feminine, but most of all so comfortable, especially with the side slit. For me wearing this dress with a pair of Spanx (my favorite is Talbot's....they are very comfy and slip on easily), made me feel shapely and confident. I find her prices to be extremely reasonable for the beautiful quality. I look forward to continuing to shop with Cathy and also making my way to her store. One of the best chain stores in America…read more Located on Lower Main, straight off of the Main Wharf. They do have very fair prices and a great merchandise selection too. A little pricey, then again it is a boutique store catering to the Nantucket jet-set. I still love it; on par with Vineyard Vines. All good. Great clothing and options! Wonderful staff as they are mostly kids from high schools and colleges across America working their summer on the island. So at the peak of tourist season, yes, the clientele in the store can be a bit of a bear.

To be clear: I have never ordered from Murray's, but I did order three authentic Indian patch…read moremadras shirts this spring from their associated store, Castaway Nantucket. I love the shirts, but they are extremely oversized. I ordered xl for the first two and one of them is in reality an xxxl, while the other one is in reality a xxl. So, for the third shirt, i ordered a large, and it fits perfectly--and I'm getting the first two taken up at my seamstress. The shirts are all gorgeous, with a very durable, hefty fabric, but quite expensive, like all of Castaway's products. I doubt that the inconsistency in sizing is uniform throughout Castaway clothing, but probably confined to their madras clothing, which is made in Chennai (formerly Madras), India, as I have found wild inconsistency in madras shirts from another retailer. I cannot say that for sure, however, as I have no other items from Castaway. Last note: each of my shirts are long-sleeved, and the fabric is so thick they are too hot to wear on a very hot day.

I buy small stuff and toss it in my knapsack, and for larger items I have those shipped back home. Murray's also has an order online catalog too. Nothing is more representative of ACK than Murray's! No negatives whatsoever.
