Imaginative and Delicious Gourmet Vegan Food at a Reasonable Price…read more My spouse and I now have a favorite new vegan restaurant and we wish, with all our hearts, that we could transport it to where we live. We found this gem in Turin (Torino) Italy. The name makes it sound like a place where you would get sprouts only and the like-- "Soul Kitchen." However, what we encountered was an amazing gourmet vegan restaurant. The food was so imaginative and beautiful, we were amazed. We ate three times there in two days--lunch and two dinners. Among the many dishes that are reinvented Italian fare, they do fantastic dishes with seitan and you feel as if you have entered seitan heaven. We recommend The Napoleon, for the creativity of its preparation with the slight flavor of blood oranges is beyond compare. They also have the most terrific complete onion filled with pasta (which tastes a little like risotto). The restaurant itself has a comfortable atmosphere and you can go casual or dressed up. We did not expect something so unique and satisfying. We "travel for vegan food" and have eaten in many many vegan places in Europe, Canada, Turkey, Brazil and The United States, and this is definitely in the top three if not, the top one. In addition, our server Ricardo was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful that he made the whole experience even more delightful. You must try this place if you love food or if you are vegan or if you want a joyful eating experience. It is not to be missed.

I had the special monkfish pasta, minced monkfish in a tasty sauce with a perfect al dante pasta, every bite was delicious. My husband had the best pizza so far, on our trip. Perfect, chewy crust. We had ice cream with coffee poured over it, nice cap on the dinner. Than they brought out limoncello on the house, perfect ending. We would go back if we had one more night. They also serve coffee to locals who stop in for a quick macchiato. They are tourist friendly, with staff who make an effort to explain options in English. The juices are amazing and made to order with options for vegans available. I personally really enjoyed the Profumato, Mmm ginger! The figs were good counterbalance to the saltiness if the speck. The salmon my wife ordered as very fresh but wasn't a fan of the potatoes. We also ordered some local reds and they were absolutely delicious. Both wines were from Asti. Overall I think this is a great place for a quick meal. It is different from normal Piedmont food but the quality of the food was good and had great vibes

During our stop, the staff seemed comprised of older men. While the staff out front seemed friendly, smiling as we passed in and out, our waiter was not at all helpful. We do speak a good amount of Italian, which turned out to be lucky as this gentleman gave no indication that he spoke English. However, he also did not try to speak much Italian. Just basically stopping by the table and waited for our order. Perhaps he assumed we would not understand him? He did however ask in Italian if I wanted my mandarin liquor warm or cold. After a long wait, he placed our drinks on the table without a word and walked away. We didn't see him again. This is the first Bicerin we tried and we were not at all wowed by it. We left with a sense of 'ok, we tried it but meh, we won't do that again'. (I did however try it again and had a much better experience elsewhere.) The value of our visit, based on quality of service and goods, would not warrant another visit to this location.
