I have to be honest. Technically, I wasn't a customer because the order I made through Teleflora was not accepted by them, despite Teleflora taking my money, so this review has as much to do about the Teleflora network as anything else. That said, they belong to this network, so I will continue.
I placed an order, through Teleflora, for a small arrangement (12 x 12) for $59.99 US. Teleflora was supposed to give me a discount which equated to me paying the same in Canadian dollars. I ordered and specified I would be picking up the next day at the end of day at Neil's. This store was the only option available, so I decided to give them a try. Little did I know, a cancellation of said order was sent to my junk mail the following morning.
I arrived the next day to find that despite looking around for 15 minutes, no one could find my order. Eventually a lady came out to explain, with documentation, that they had rejected the order on the basis that they weren't making enough money. According to the paperwork, Teleflora was eating the cost of the discount and they would be making the original listed price, but they wanted $59 more dollars (not sure if US or Can.) I was flabbergasted by the ordeal and the fact that any company or network operated in such a way. Teleflora was apparently advertising arrangements at prices that no florist would honour.
The lady suggested I purchase something else. I looked around at the prices in the place ($65 for a small bouquet of carnations, expensive generic Valentine stuffies and $20 for a small bunny figurine that was one of many not sold that hadn't been marked down in the least). It became apparent with the refusal and evidence all around me that I wasn't going to be able to afford anything in the store that was worthy of being presented to my mother. I left completely disheartened that what was supposed to be a lovely surprise a couple days before Mother's Day, turned into such a disappointment. I was embarrassed, but in all honesty, I'm not sure I was the one that should have been embarrassed.
This experience really drove home how expensive fresh cut flowers are now, despite being advertised for a reasonable price on Teleflora and other websites. Hardly worth it if you consider that they only last a week, or two, if you're lucky. So be warned that if you order through the Teleflora network, you just might not get your flowers and they get to hold onto your money for ten days for no reason whatsoever. This is an aggravation no one needs. Happy Mother's Day! read more
