Coming from metro Atlanta and having driven up and down I-85 in South Carolina numerous times, I've…read moregrown accustomed to and become spoiled by all the great QuikTrip gas stations and convenience stores. Unfortunately, no QTs exist on I-16, at least not at the time of writing this review. I-16 doesn't carry as much traffic as I-75 and I-85 in Georgia. Between Macon and Savannah, this Flash Foods gas station and convenience store is about as good as it's going to get. You can find it in Dublin, just off exit 51 (US 319 / US 441 (SR 31) - Dublin, McRae). This station has 16 pumps with gas that's roughly 10-20 cents cheaper per gallon than the gas at metro Atlanta QTs. This is a popular pit stop and it can get quite busy. The pumps (and the property in general) are getting old and it's hard to read the screens. They need some updating. The receipts print out fine. Inside, the convenience store has all the essentials. It's a fairly simple store in the older convenience store mold; not as big nor as impressive as moderns QTs which have quickly become the new standard. They do have a small, fresh-brewed coffee selection. The restrooms are serviceable, though the men's room only has two urinals and one toilet stall. There's a machine car wash here if you want to wash your car. If this station was located in metro Atlanta, I might give it 2 stars, but for the 167-mile stretch of I-16, it's perhaps more of a 3-star station.

This is a very decent place to stop while on the drive between Atlanta and Savannah…read more The gas prices are about the lowest that you will find in the trip between the two cities. I used to have their app which gives a 5 cent discount if you pay using the app, but haven't updated my bank information on the app so couldn't use it. They have a nice convenience store with a good selection of the standard overpriced snacks you find in these stores, but I got a couple of bag of nuts for a pretty good price, I think about $3. There are good clean restrooms inside of the convenience store. It's very close off the highway, and this particular exit from the highway, exit 51 I believe, has a decent selection of some chain restaurants is you also want to geb a meal.

Cars and Bikers out front jockeying to get a spot at the pumps, the diesel rigs out back, the truckers like it that way, just ask them four wheelers are a distraction, a pain in the ass and are nothing more than rookies behind the wheel. The locals use this place as a convenient store, some of their mommas work here, they step out the front door to sneak a smoke and they'll tell you "I'll be right in hun" - this place turns and burns and there ain't much time to take a break so excuse the butts on the ground, some twisted and smashed some still have a ember and the homeless pray they find it before it gets snuffed out, they hit is while digging through the trash looking for a empty aluminum can or a half eaten honey bun. My rigs hold a little over one hundred gallons so I have time to people watch and see poverty first hand. I don't feel anything but empathy for those that struggle and I never judge those that are less fortunate. I think most are doing the best they can in the situation they're in even though some are living with a history of bad decisions we rather know what landed them here. They don't scare me and I don't look down on this percentage of our population, I help them out when I can and if I'm honest when can't I help them out? - it's my choice, so judge me on my actions instead of judging them on their situation. The pump nozzle just kicked out, my break from the road comes to an end and I know I may never pass this way again. I hope I made a positive impact, my payment at the pump is an invisible contribution to a cause I may or may not knowingly support. I didn't go inside so I don't know if the restrooms are clean or dirty, I didn't interact with the staff so I can't comment on the level of service - this place did provide me a place to see a little piece of the world today and I'm thankful for that. I'm committing to paying it forward - all of us can spare some pocket change so leave some on the edge of the trash bin, on top of the pump or on the curb, we'll all be better for it. Thanks for the opportunity Pilot...
