Always honest. Did and does a great job for myself and all my friends I'd recommend this family run business to any and everyone. Keep the money local and family owned read more

Nice staff. Get my truck serviced here and they always do a good job and in a good time frame. Prices are fair.

Kevin was very quick to respond, quicker to diagnose the issue, and I was back on the road faster than I had anticipated! As they had to keep my car overnight and I had no other transportation, they were kind enough to drive me back to my home, which was unexpected and appreciated. Cost was more than fair, and they even told me about a discount on labor for being a AAA Member. Most shops or dealerships would have left me to inquire on my own, versus offering that info up unsolicited, so I am very appreciative of that. Overall, great experience and should I ever be in need again while on the Cape, Neighborhood will get my business! read more

Amazing! We were stranded in Truro and called this place. The man was so helpful and friendly and diagnosed our problem to a T!!! So kind! We were able to get help from a neighbor as his diagnosis was so accurate! Thank you!!! read more

We don't live in Wellfleet and I had taken our car to our local mechanic for break work. The mechanic charged an unreasonably high fee and a year later the breaks were worse than ever. Not trusting our local mechanic, I went to Neighborhood Auto. They evaluated the problem and the price was right to fix it, but they suggested that we return to our local mechanic so he could fix the problem at no cost. It is rare that a firm will pass up business in order to help their client save money. We did return to the local mechanic. He did fix the issue, but the next time we need work done on our car, we'll go to Neighborhood Auto. read more

I went here today for a headlight replacement on my import. It's close to work and I haven't found anywhere thereabouts to take my car to without wondering not whether I'll get ripped off but exactly how much I'll be taken for. So I had fingers crossed, I hoped they had a bulb and I hoped it wouldn't cost the equivalent of a month of takeout coffee. Fifteen minutes later, Jeff had replaced the bulb and I was gladly paying a reasonable price - plus - Jeff remembered I had been in once before, which was true. That was about 8 months ago and I needed my tire pressure checked, which he did without any charge, without a long face or grumpiness, just nicely and helpfully. Since then I've told anyone who'll listen that this is a place to go for great service. I love finding a service establishment that you can go to without worry. Here you'll find great customer service, fair prices and AAA approved = 10% discount. Next I'll try an oil change and a headlight restore - one thing at a time read more

They made a mistake and fixed it. Overall they really addressed the problem professionally

I recently bought a wheelchair lift to haul my scooter on our SUV. While on vacation the lift would occasionally drag the ground on uneven surfaces. All that was needed was 15 minutes to make an adjustment to the hitch height (it did require a floor crane). Two places on the Cape said they weren't interested even though they knew our plight and had the equipment to do the job. Kevin said yes to the job, even though he had to squeeze it in and we set an appointment for the next day. The job was done in 15 minutes and Kevin was very enjoyable to work with as was the office staff. Recommend highly for any automotive or mechanical work! Ryan Winger read more

I needed my Subaru Forester checked out for smoke coming from the engine, as well as an oil change. In contrast to other auto mechanics on the Cape, they picked up the phone when I called. Kevin diagnosed the problem and gave me honest guidance. No BS, no pressure, no salesmanship. read more

On a Thursday while fishing on Cape Cod my starter motor went out on my 2006 Jeep Liberty as we were scheduled to leave on Sunday this left my wife and I with a big problem. I called triple A who recommended Neighborhood Auto. I called Neighborhood Auto and although they were busy they assured me they could repair it before end of business Friday. They were professional, helpful and friendly. They aloud me to store my kayak and fishing gear securely while working on my Jeep. They accomplished the job Costs were as expected and they finished the job in a timely manner. As I fish the Cape from May till Sept I'm sure I will use their services again and I fully recommend that if you are in need of auto services on the Cape Neighborhood Auto is a great choice. read more

Neighborhood Auto - Auto Repair Near Me - Wellfleet, Massachusetts

We thought we had a loose screw in one rear wheel on our 2011 Honda CRV--so we were told by a mechanic before we headed to the Cape: "nothing serious, check it out when you arrive." When we brought the car in, Kevin wouldn't let us drive it without a full rear brake replacement: "You're brakes are on fire." In addition, they replaced the bolts on the wheels which require a special Honda wrench to loosen, which we didn't have: 'what if you had to replace a tire late at night on the highway?' All told, honest, reliable service. Highly recommended. read more

I cannot say enough about how great Kevin's service was and how much it meant to us. He was very easy to communicate with online - this was extremely helpful. We have a fairly unusual car, a 2006 Porsche Boxster S, that needed maintenance and Kevin rose to the challenge to take care of our needs. His willingness to take on our Boxster's needs really made our lives easier and we will definitely be recommending him and also taking the Boxster back for future services. read more

If you ever have car trouble on the Cape, these are the guys to see. Kevin & Joe were professional, courteous and fair. Kevin went over and above to make sure my Saab was back up and running just in time for the Sunday trip home. Coolant problem fixed and with a 24,000 mile warranty on parts to boot. Very happy to have found them conveniently located right in Wellfleet! P.S. do NOT go to the Mobil station across from PJ's in Wellfleet. read more

Glad to have a quick and easy oil change on the outer cape but my goodness, they charge double what it normally is anywhere else... want to like my local auto repair shop, but with up charging like that for the simplest service makes it tough. If you need an oil change I suggest elsewhere, perhaps they're a good choice for something more complicated but I'm not so sure as my partner was quoted double what he ended up paying for a service in NH. Too bad since they're convenient, but sadly won't be going back. Fine service, just really odd/high pricing. read more

I'm a certified car-nut, enthusiast, shade tree mechanic and builder of 4 wheel machines that go where no one has gone as boldly, as fast or as wild before.....automobile 'enhancer'. So I rarely bring a vehicle to a repair shop. One thing I cant do is my own computerized alignments. So after adding a lift kit and shoehorning some bigger tires under a 2016 Jeep Renegade I stopped by Neighborhood Auto to see what their availability was and what the cost was for an alignment. I made an appointment, for the flat $125 same day service and brought the Jeep in. Being a local resident has its perks. Since everyone was at the beach or working I had no one to bring my me home or back to the garage. Problem solved, a mechanic at the shop took me home and drove the Jeep back to the shop, aka 'test drive' and the owner Kevin picked me up after the alignment to bring me back to his shop, 'real time-hands on-road test of his expert craftsmanship'. Kevin and his crew are very likable, honest and hard working. They provide a service for locals and summer tourists alike to get their vehicles fixed and back on the road. Wellfleet is a small New England town on Cape Cod 100 miles out in the Atlantic Ocean. The closest commercial community, with an auto parts store, is 12 miles to the south. In summer traffic making this short journey can take almost an hour. Know that this garage can handle anything you bring to them. They are professional honest and hard working. My bill, by the way, was as quoted. The personal delivery and great conversation back and forth to the garage made me feel like family. read more

Took my vehicle in for head gasket replacement, business did multiple items of work to my vehicle without written estimates and my authorization, and now I have to take legal action to recover my vehicle. read more

Highly recommend this place. I am from out of town and had car problems. I have AAA and they referred me here. The owner Kevin was so helpful and honest with me. I really felt that he knew his stuff and did not try to take advantage of me and charge me for things I didn't need. read more

Joe and Kevin were helpful and professional and took great care of me and my car! On a fri morn before Saturday checkout on the cape they were able to get us running right on time. They really saved the day by proactively ordering the part we needed. Very fair price, good communication and fast service!! Very happy we found them! read more

Over the summer, on our final day in Wellfleet before the long drive back to NYC, the check engine light came lit up on my car. We stay across the road from Neighborhood Auto, but have always used the Mobil on the corner of 6 and Main. The Mobil was closed for a while and changed hands, so we decided to give a new place a try. Wow, am I glad we did. The owner, Kevin Sturtevant, could not have been nicer. One of his mechanics hooked a reader to the car, diagnosed the check light issue, and let us know we could safely drive the car home before getting repairs. Kevin's fee for this emergency service? "Drive home safely." Next time I have car troubles in Wellfleet, this is where I will go. read more

We had our brake lights out on the cape. Siri sent us to this friendly, competent, and reasonably priced repair shop. The owners are experts and just did the repair in 20 minutes. It is refreshing to be taken care of in this way. I could see they were doing some big repair jobs. Five star for sure. read more

Long story short. My clutch went on my car, I was stuck in Ptown and called these guys based on the great reviews, Before fixing my car I asked them to look it over because the clutch was $1400, They did called me and said the car seemed in good shape except cosmetically. ( 1999 Honda Accord ran great ) I get it fixed hand them cash stupid move. I start driving back to Boston and the check engine light comes on. I turn around and go back the son hooks it up to the machine and tells me now the about some carbon problem with the engine. He tells me you can get it fixed but I don't think you want to spend any more money on it. He then tells me he did not work on it his father did. They will only fix the car if it has to do with the clutch repair and how the car was hard to fix because of all the rust. Well why did you not tell me that I would of never fixed it and I would never repair a car with a check engine light on, They ripped me off big time and I am so pissed off. I do not have an extra $1400 to just throw away . read more

Had a great experience there today. My fender fell apart while i was on the cape and I needed an emergency repair to get back to Boston. Limped to Neighborhood Auto and they fixed it up like new. took about 90 minutes (would have been less but they were in the middle of lunch) and only charged me $81! read more

Neighborhood Auto saved our vacation. Not only incredibly fair and honest, Neighborhood Auto is the best mechanic I've ever worked with. If you have any car problems on the outer cape, this is the place to go. No question. Top quality. Great service. And fair and honest prices -- even for those in desperate need. read more

My battery died and they replaced it in a few hours time. It can be very difficult to get that kind of help promptly out here in Wellfleet and I was very grateful. However it was extremely expensive---$258, at home it would have been more like half of that. read more

On vacation in Wellfleet when my 2009 Passat had difficulty starting on Tuesday. Worse on Wednesday, then almost stranded us at the beach. Figured battery but needed confirmation. Thought I'd have to head to Orleans or Eastham, instead a friend recommended Neighborhood. Confirmed that the battery was failing, had the battery in stock, I was out in around a half hour. Thanks guys! read more

Found this place through the internet as being in Wellfleet near to where we were staying on vacation, and experienced with Subarus. They were professional, courteous, reasonable in cost, and all and all just great in taking care of our 2009 Outback CV Boot/Axle issue and solving our noise problem from a loose heat shield. They did it all in one day and held the car at our request overnight (so we could continue our vacation plans with a one day rental from Orleans "Enterprise"). We are very pleased with them. Highly recommended read more

Super friendly people every time I go - fair prices, great service. Would recommend Neighborhood Auto to anyone.

I have a 2005 Volvo XC70 that has over 120,000 miles on it. I was told by another mechanic that my power steering was going. I decided to get a price from neighborhood auto. I was happy to find out that my fluid was just low! My steering is like new and best part is not getting scammed by a mechanic. read more

Vacationing on the Cape when the car would not start, apparently because the battery died. Jumped the battery and went to Neighborhood Auto as an AAA recommended business. The guys there could not have been more helpful - checking the battery and the entire charging system and reviewing all the information with me before concluding that no work was really needed. The manager said, "We can't sell you something you don't need," and then did not charge me for any time or labor. When I asked what I could do for him, he said, "Tell your friends about us." That's exactly what I hope this review will do. read more

Oil change & tire rotation was fine but they really lack customer service skills -- older guy was grumpy and rude. Complaining through window to receptionist that I had tire locks and there was stuff in my trunk. I was sitting right there. If it was a problem, he could have come in to talk to me rather than talk about me....There are so many places to get an oil change where there are def. friendlier people so I won't go back. read more

They totally saved my bacon! They were booked solid and I had an appointment was for the next day to investigate a problem, when my car suddenly died. They squeezed me in and my car was running again in a few hours (new battery). Very reasonable and helpful. Service was above and beyond. Thank you! read more
