Because the standard of care wasn't met as a newborn, my baby has to undergo multiple surgeries and if they aren't successful could even need hip replacement in their twenties along with pain and discomfort for life. Please demand your pediatrician ultrasound your newborns hips at their one month well-baby visit. This is an entirely treatable and simple condition when caught early; six months of age is too long with an entirely dislocated hip. This is a huge liability on behalf of Valley Pediatric Health, and I hope Dr. Alshareef becomes more aware of recognizing hip dysplasia in babies. I took my baby to Dr. Admani in Brawley and he immediately recognized the dislocation without me bringing it up prior. If your baby is late-diagnosed with hip dysplasia, see Dr. Hosalkar in San Diego right away; a month wait for an appointment at Radys is too long to get the ball rolling.

I always treat him at home but today I said maybe I need to take him because maybe there is somehting else going on well long story short he was so very rude to me saying he doesnt seen nothing wrong with him since nothing else hurts. That if I was really worry about him I would have taking him to the ER. All i wanted was to make sure there wasnt something else more serious with him but I guess that was wrong of me. For years we have taken our children here and have always had a really good experience (Drs. Amon,…read moreCrawford, and Sison). Recently did a wellness visit for one of our kids with a newer physician and had asked about an allergy referral. Instead of a referral the newer physician took it upon himself to counsel/give advice for an already diagnosed allergy condition (which by itself is fine if that was it). Later they add that on as an added service charging our insurance $300 - which our insurance negotiated it down to a 1/3 of that cost that we would owe out of pocket. On our end all we saw was an extra charge but no explanation of what it was for. After many phone calls back and forth with YRMC and YRMC Pediatrics it was explained that the provider (i.e. the physician) felt it was a separate service and added in a note that we had brought in a kid with a cough (which we hadn't). If a patient has questions and the physician feels it is a separate service they need to be upfront that they intend to add a separate fee. What else is a wellness check for then to discuss wellness. This is pretty unprofessional in my opinion as a business practice. They also explained that this was out fault for not asking if they were going to charge a separate fee. They were not willing to budge on the service charge. It was offered we could have requested an extension of the due day of the payment. How kind. Based on this very shady business practice we will not be taking out kids here again, unfortunately.

Dr. Bender literally goes through your ENTIRE medical history. Diet, labs, medications... everything. Took awhile to get an appointment (as a new patient) but I now understand why (they take the time to request all your records and then actually read them?!) and she is SO worth the wait. I've never had an appointment where my list of issues and questions were so completely and throughly answered. Printouts... homework and goals set. Very nice, clean and organized office. Frank, (the office manager/medical assistant when needed) was a pleasure to speak/work with. I think I'm still a little in shock over my appointment. Seriously. It was that amazing.
