Since those stores are few and far between in the Bay Area, I decided to call and check on the equipment before driving to any of them. Unfortunately, few of these local stores actually answer their phones. When they do, it is often one of those impersonal answering services that take up more time than they could ever save. I did finally reach one person; however, he sounded confused -- like he didn't know much about car parts and had never heard of this particular piece of equipment. So, I decided to give a call to a store that I have visited in the past in Texas -- NAPA Auto Parts in Kingsville. To my surprise, the phone was answered almost immediately. The employee on the other end politely and effectively answered my question. She knew exactly what I was asking about (with no explanation necessary) and provided an immediate answer. Whereas I spent a half-hour calling local auto parts retailers before I found a human on the other end, my entire question was answered with a quick call to NAPA Auto Parts in Kingsville. This succinct and knowledgeable response quickly helped guide me to what I needed for my vehicle. This sort of insightful customer service is rare today. However, it is very much needed. When I showed the tech where the screw was he said that the screw was in the side wall of the tire. When I challenged him on whether or not the screw was in the side wall he proceeded to explain Walmart policy which states that there is a 3 inch strip down the center of the tire that is not side wall and and every where else is considered side wall. He said this is for liability, we all know there true reason is that they just want you to have to buy a new tire. So out of greed Walmart stranded me with a fast leaking tire and there pathetic attempt to force me into buying a new tire from them has ensured that they will lose me as a customer for life. I will never again use their automotive services and unless the puncture in your flat tire has precisely hit the bull's eye that Walmart has drawn on you tire I suggest you go else where for help.
