Hidden Fees, No Disclosure of Major Repairs, and Terrible Accountability…read more I recently purchased a 2019 Nissan Titan Pro-4X from Team Chevrolet GMC of Alice, and the entire experience has been deeply disappointing -- enough that I've filed formal complaints with both the Texas Attorney General's Office and the TxDMV Enforcement Division. Here's what happened: The truck was advertised at what seemed like a fair price and was described as having a "Clean Carfax." After the test drive, I told the sales team I was ready to move forward -- but when the paperwork came out, I was suddenly hit with a $2,500 "services performed" fee. When I asked what this was, they claimed it covered wiper blades, fluid changes, filters, etc. -- routine reconditioning work that's usually baked into a vehicle's listing price. But here, it was added after the fact, on top of the advertised price. I asked for service records to see what I was actually paying for. I was only given basic internal paperwork -- no mention of any major repairs. Here's the kicker: less than two miles after leaving the lot, the check engine light came on. I immediately returned the truck. The next day, their own service department admitted the turbocharger had failed before the sale and had been sent to a third-party mechanic for repair. None of this was disclosed. Not during the sale, not in the service records I requested, and not in the $2,500 charge. When I went back to resolve the issue, I asked to speak to the general manager. Instead, I was referred to David Rodriguez, the pre-owned manager. I asked for a written warranty on the turbo or a fair adjustment. His response? They couldn't offer anything further because they were "already $4,000 in the red." He also told me they don't have to disclose major mechanical repairs unless the customer specifically asks. I asked him point blank, "So if a vehicle had a new engine installed, and I didn't specifically ask about that, you wouldn't tell me?" He said no -- and stood by that logic. To this day, I still haven't received documentation for the third-party turbo repair. The dealership is refusing to offer a warranty or accept any accountability for failing to disclose the most important mechanical history on the vehicle. This wasn't just poor communication -- it was deliberate omission and misrepresentation. If you're shopping here, get everything in writing. Ask for full service records, especially if you're being charged extra for "services performed." The sticker price you see is not what you'll pay -- and based on my experience, you may not know what you're getting until it's too late. Buyer beware.
