I have been a regular customer of Nectar since moving back to Portland a few years ago. I usually review the website before I go in. Each branch tends to have a dierent menu, so I will review, and then when I ind what I want I will go to that store. I am familiar with a number of their stores.
I have been using pot or a lon time. I usually know what I want, and I don't waste their time or mine.I am 63 years old, and I am generally tolerant of the Nectar way. I went in just ater they opened,at about 10:15 AM on May 4th, 2023. I was waited on by a young man.I have an out of state license, an d I recently realized it is expired. took my sister with me to purchase it or me, as she has valid ID. I was a lawyer and college professor in my professional life, however I am semi retired. My sister is several years older than me, and it was the first time she had ever been in any pot store.
I have spent thousands of dollars with Nectar. I have always tried to treat everyone fairly. When I have shopped at the Happy Valley branch, I always feel a bit uneasy, and I think their attitude is based on my age. They regularly seem very uptight. They have never been friendly or helpul. I was raised to be polite, cordial and easy to work with.
When I explained that my sister would be buying this fellow immediately gave me attitude. He told me I could not be in the store, and he was not going to let my sis make the purchase. He did not offer any options. He was not empathetic.
He seemed very rude. He seemed very dismissive, and it felt as though he just wanted the old timers to leave. I'm not able to be hip anymor.
I was made to feel ashamed. I felt like I was being accused of some sort of malfeasance. It was a horrible experience. He was agressive and uptight. As I mentioned, I was made to feel very uncomfortable and ashamed. On reflection, I am disgusted and outraged. I should not feel that my comments should be warranted. My prospective comments should not present as a manifest nessessity. I should not feel compelled to give my energy over to this. It is unwarranted, and I should not waste my time, but his attitude and presentation was shocking, and it set a terrible example. I will have to look at some alternatives.
I am going to alert the company to the issue. I expect them to, i at all, present some sort o rebuttal, which will be an attempt to present their company in a light most favorable to them. Their will be no apology, and the company will avoid or attempt to avoid any responsibility or this idiocy. This youn man made me not want to ever do business with them again. What should have been a lighthearted event ended up ruining my day. Right or wrong, it is easy to be cordial. It is easy to be empathetic. It takes much more effort to treat a good customer with disdain, and what really amounts to a type of churliss hatred towards this senior. SHAME ON YOU! One star. read more
