My favorite hairstylist at Neat Cut is Anna! She's very sweet, really skilled, and crazy fast. Every time I show her a haircut I want, she nails it perfectly. If you're in Elk Grove and need a good haircut, definitely check her out. read more

I bring my son here and the cuts are always consistent. Never have an issue for the times we've been coming here. There isn't a particular person I go to, any gal there always got the job done. Everyone there is very friendly and courteous. They can get busy during the afternoons and weekends. Come early morning around the time they open and there won't be a long wait! Would highly recommend this place! read more

I take my son to get hair cuts here. We highly recommend Anna and Van. They both are very patient and do an amazing job.

I've received a recommendation from a family member. Since the pandemic, I have been looking for a new hairstylist. My hairstylist quit working since the shut down and she ended up moving to another state. I have called all hair salons in Elk Grove and they are either booked for over 6 months or require consultation. A couple of places had requested me to send photos of my hair. Its a mess! Although this place did not have good reviews, a family member stumbled across this hair salon and had her hair cut here. Van was the hair stylist and was really impressed with her. So I called for an appointment and had my hair cut by Van a couple of times before letting her color my hair. She has been amazing, she does a really good job with cutting woman hair and gives suggestions on how to maintain the color and how to style your hair at home. I've been coming here to have Van do my hair for over 8 months now. I highly recommend her and will be a returning customer as long as she's there. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because the owner fluctuates the prices. read more

This was my late mother's business. She kept it clean. Welcomed friendly business. Offered lollipops for the kids. I helped her with the interior decor. I will miss doing laundry for her shop. I will uphold the name for her. read more

The service is wonderful. I did coloring, highlight all comes out wonderful!! Thank you !!

Price is up to 10 bucks for men and 15 for women. Kids are the same price. Still recommend coming here for my kid's haircut. Usually, these types of hair cut places don't take card but this place does. The place is clean and there usually no wait. I recommend having the ladies do the hair cut as they seem to be the only ones that can get it right. read more

This is the second time I've taken my two boys wired 40mins and many walk ins and after we I hear them tell other walk ins I'll say you have an appointment. Well you just lost us as customers and my dad. I will never be back read more

They will butcher you. They either don't understand what your asking for or don't care . Either way it is unacceptable. I had to come home and shave my head after growing my hair out for 6 months. read more

We always take my boys to get their haircut here, so I decide to go cut my hair here too after all these years! I was very disappointed that she (lady in the second chair) didn't give me the length I wanted, when I told her twice I wanted mid length but she ended up cutting it above my shoulders:( I wanted to CRY!!! I did not want it this short, no no no, I've never had my hair this short before... it gets worst I come home and I start pumping and my husband sees a long strand of hair on my back. how could this lady had not understood the length I want and miss this strand!? A big disappointment. I won't be returning. read more

I went in today for the first time. For years I have been getting my hair cut down the street at Bella Beauty Salon. In that time it has changed ownership I think. I noticed that Neat Cut has a banner on their salon "Hair Cuts $7.99" That is quite a bit less than I have been paying so I tried them today. I'm impressed! Joana is sweet and charming. Also quite skilled at cutting hair and I am please with the way my hair looks. Neat Cuts has a new customer. read more

My boyfriend is very picky about where he gets his haircuts. The only person he likes is Kent on Fruitridge. We were headed to a wedding and everywhere was closed so we decided to give this place a shot. Not only was their service fast, but the girls cut was to his approval. At first I thought the name and the way it looks on the outside of the shop made the shop looks more like a barbershop. But I was wrong its just a regular hair salon. I'm just glad we don't have to drive all the way down to south Sacramento just to get his haircut. read more

Only been here twice. Good affordable reliable simple men's haircut. Friendly barber. I'd probably come back again for my next cut.

Yesterday I was in dire need of a haircut and I was on a tight schedule. I've been to this place many times before but when I walked in 10 minutes before closing (even though I hate doing it but again desperate) I asked Heidi if I could still get a hair cut. She graciously said "oh I think remember you" and so did Winnie. They both looked at each other and said yes we can do it. I was so happy to hear those words because I have a job interview out of town the following day. I am again so happy to have come here because my hair looks great and I'm ready to kill this interview. They are all so nice and so sweet in there. They also keep a wonderfully clean place. If you're looking for a great haircut at a great price in south sac/Elk Grove please go here!!! They are great!!!! Will continue to come in when I'm town! Thanks again Winnie and Heidi!!!! read more

If you in anyway have any respect for your hair, or want to have and or maintain any type of even a somewhat trendy haircut (undercut, pompadour ect.) Do not go here!!! they fail to understand even the most basic instructions on how to cut your hair or how you want it cut. They will refer back to the most traditional haircut and make your hair so. So if you dont really care or you just want a basic cut Neat Cuts is fine. But If you are in anyways trying to have a good hair style or are particular about your hair please do not come here. read more

Vickey V. is such a great stylist, I've followed her here from Hair Obsession (now Threading by Preet) just down the way. Actually, she cuts both my parent's hair too, highly recommend. Cut, color, highlights, style, updos, she can do it all! Today I went in for a trim, layers, bangs, and straightening and it was easy to make an appointment via text or phone call directly. Seriously, ask for Vickey. This is definitely more than a Men's Salon. I haven't tried the eyebrow services or nails, etc. Call or text Vickey at (916) 230-2129. read more

My husband came here to get a short fohawk. I explained to the guy and even showed him a side picture of how I wanted my husband hair. He kept saying yeah yeah yeah and barley looked at the picture I showed him. He messed up my husband haircut so bad it looked nothing at all like what I told and showed him. He basically just cut my husband hair how he felt it should be. I walked up to him 3 times while he was cuting my husband hair to keep reminding him how I wanted it cut and still he didn't seem to care or want to listen. Seriously? Either he doesn't understand English or he is just plain stupid. Never again am I coming back here. read more

Neat Cuts - Asked the guy for a fohawk and this is how he cut my husband hair even after I told him and showed a picture . Seriously? ! - Men's Hair Salons Near Me - Elk Grove, California

Took my little cousin here so that he can get his hair cut. I understand that there is a language barrier, but it's not that hard to understand "just a trim". The lady who cut his hair also cut it much shorter on the back than she cut on the sides and crown. Not coming back. Sorry. read more

I was immediately greeted by a gentlemen who I found later to be the barber. He was very courteous and made good conversation. I sat down and told him the number for the side and trim at the top and he began being a bit rough, almost knocking my head as he is shave the side, repeatedly. Once he was finished I pointed out that the top part of the side was jutting out and he quickly corrected it and said "It's normal to have that because of the shape of head". After he fixed it, I paid my $10 and drove home Before I was going to wash my hair, I noticed he missed a patch above my right ear. I didn't feel like driving 30 minutes to the shop and 30min back, so I had to bust out my barber kit and CUT MY OWN HAIR. Luckily, I didn't have plans after the haircut but if I did, I would have looked ridiculous! read more

Me and my boys always go here for haircuts. Great service and you cannot beat the price. The ladies always great you when you come in and if the wait is long they will tell you. I have been to places where they tell you it will be five minutes and it turns out to be 50. I would recommend anyone looking for a good haircut and a great price to drop in. read more

I would give them 5 stars, but they don't take appointments. I get my haircut from Heidi and she is always consistent and does a good job.

I was helped by Joanna and she did a great job! Probably the fastest haircut I've had. Honestly, my usual haircuts are a simple 1 and 3 shave with the fade but you'd be surprised on how long it takes some barbers to make that cut happen and happen well. These barbers work by commission so either try and commit to your favorite Barber or tip well! She was very kind and also gave me a complimentary rinse! The place itself is very clean and pleasant. Multiple tv's set up around the salon with college sports, soccer, baseball, football, you name it. Anything that's a good game for the day. Didn't wait long at all and was called up to the chair in minutes. Couldn't have asked for more, will definitely be back next month to get a cut! read more

This was probably the worst haircut I've ever had. While the woman was nice enough to cut my hair she did not listen to a thing I said about how I wanted it. It is now longer on the sides than it is on top besides being uneven it looks like a mullet. I can't keep it this way, I am going to have to find another barber to try and fix it. read more

My brother always cut my hair growing up but since we are older now its hard to find time to fit that into both our schedules. After plenty of bad haircuts in plenty places i finally found Neat Cuts Been there 5 times, 3 different women cut my hair, and each 1 was on point. read more

They do not listen.... don't ask for them to trim your top so you can still keep it long because they will cut it short and make you go bald... read more

Joanna did my trim and allover color for. I'm very happy with the results, though my hair doesn't have a complicated cut or color technique to it. My hair looks healthy, styles great and Joanna is very sweet and did exactly as I asked (1.5" trim of the length, redid the layers and over-all color 5N), and only charged $55 for everything. The salon is very clean, and conveniently located near my house. read more

Do not go here for a hair cut!!!! I don't know how their other services are but the do not know how to cut hair! I said I wanted a TRIM and NO LAYERS and they cut almost six inches off!! And gave me short choppy layers. It was awful!! I had to tell the lady to stop cutting! I've never been more disappointed from a hair cut in my entire life! ZERO STARS!!!!!! read more

I definitely recommend Vicky the hairdresser ( her station is in the back of the salon ). Vicky always does an amazing job. this place sucks do not go here!!!! i asked for my hair to be a little longer than shoulder length and as she was measuring she just cut she didn't even okay it with me i went home and thought it was okay because it looked nice and when i straightened it it was very uneven and choppy my litter sister could have cut my hair way better this place is a zero STAR DO NOT GO HERE they were also VERY unsanitary they used the same sissors on my head as the person before they didn't clean them i immediately went home and showered very bad and unsanitary read more

Have been a regular customer and it was pretty good for the price. Last time I went in, I signed in, waited 20 minutes and was next in line. The woman finished with a customer and called someone ahead of me. I asked her why and she only said sorry you next. Lost my business . read more

Horrible!! I went in to get a haircut with my boyfriend. We both signed in and waited. They helped my boyfriend first and then just completely ignored me! Two of the ladies were just sitting in the back chatting. One of them came up to look at the sign in list and then just went to the back and started chatting again! And then five minutes later, two other customers without an appointment came in. They didn't even sign in and were helped right away! Right in front of my eyes! Such horrible customer service. I would never go back! Of course, I didn't get my haircut there after all that. I would never give them my business. read more

I was OK when my sideburns were uneven because I could fix it at home. But,when I asked for a fade on the sides and she ended up cutting the sides with a 1 all around leaving me with a lump of hair left on top (my hair was long!), that's when I had enough. I could have done that on my own at home! They don't pay attention to how they are cutting your hair. I don't think they know what they are doing most of the time. They then take your money and expect a tip. I had to shave my head to fix the damage. read more

This place should be called fucked up cuts because that is what they specialize in. Idk how they got the name neat cuts. I've givin this place a chance many times and to my suprise they seem to live up to their name "fucked up cuts," every single time. Not once have they givin me a satisfying haircurt. I don't even know how they people there got their barbers license! They all suck! First couple times , I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe Idk my explanation was bad? I went recent and showed them a photo of the front back and sides! And they still couldn't get it right! I hate this place so much. I hope they close down and get their license takin away. Sick of it. read more

First time I went here I was impressed but second time I went in I was not impressed at all. I asked for a fade bottom 1 and higher part 2. She did not listen and completely went way over board on my fade and to come to find out when I got home she left me a bald spot in the back of my ear and didn't even finish up my line up in the back of my neck. Not returning back to this place again. read more

Joanna was pretty awesome. Took my son in the other day. Went early so no line. Haircut came out great.

Asian ladies were nice and greeted me and my dad as we entered. Got a quick and clean hair cut, and my hair stylist seemed to know what she was doing and gave me tips about my hair. Overall, my appearance changed drastically and Iooked a lot more handsome after wards. Great, fast, and affordable (: read more
