About a month ago, I began to experience lower-back pain. Thinking that it might be due to…read moreinactivity, I tried to rehab it myself by stretching, going to the gym, walking, etc. Unfortunately, none of that worked. In fact, the pain was getting worse by the day. Eventually, the pain became so intense that I could barely walk, sleep, get in and out of my car, get comfortable, sit at my desk, go about my daily routine, etc. My life, as I knew it, was on indefinite hold. Sometimes, the pain was so bad that I'd sweat through my clothes and become irritable over the smallest things. I just wasn't myself. I didn't know what was wrong with me or how I got to that point - and I was really starting to get scared that I might need surgery or, worse, that this would be my new normal. I was on the verge of driving myself to the emergency room when I decided to try a chiropractor first. This was a big step for me because I had seen a chiropractor after suffering a neck injury in my youth and felt he did nothing for me. Since then, I'd had my doubts about chiropractic in general and didn't exactly relish the idea of getting my back "cracked" ever again. But I was desperate and my pain won out over my skepticism. I bit the bullet, Googled "chiropractor near me," and found Solvang Chiropractic Center. It had a 5-star rating and the reviews were excellent. So, I made an appointment for the next day when they opened. The next day, looking like an absolute wreck, I met Dr. Noah Swanson and explained my symptoms. He knew right away what the problem was. "Can you fix it?" I asked. He said that he could, but that it wouldn't happen in one visit. His confidence gave me hope and nearly brought tears to my eyes. Anyway, after the first two appointments and doing the homework he gave me, my pain went from intolerable to practically non-existent. At last, I could again do all the things I'd once taken for granted (e.g., walk, sleep, get in and out of my car, etc.). It was nothing short of a miracle. Thank you, Dr. Swanson, for giving me my life back.

Today is a new day and instead of feeling like a 65 year old, I feel like a 35 year old again. All I can say is, Jim's got your back! THANK YOU SO MUCH Jim! See you in a few days.

He got my digestion up and running again and got my adrenals back up to par (the rest of my body systems began to fall into place after that including peri-menopause symptoms) using high quality supplements. It was a long process to health but I'm healthier now than I've ever been. After the internal system got up to speed I started working with him for chiropractic issues which are resolving as well. I'm an Ayurvedic practitioner who has also been a chiropractic assistant and I believe in quality holistic health care. I know it's rare to find a chiropractor who is sensitive to their client each time they see them--most are usually sensitive during the initial consultation but simply adjust each time based on a plan set forth months before.. His style has made a huge difference. I highly recommend Dr. Greg.

I had received a personal recommendation for this office and even though it didn't have any Yelp reviews, I decided to give it a try. I waited a little longer than expected for my first office visit (about 30 minutes), but every other time I've come in, I haven't had to wait, so I think they were just backed up at the time. Dr. Gene is very knowledgeable about the body, shows genuine care and concern, and is very approachable/ personable. He even texted me later on in the day to check in on how I was doing (I wasn't expecting that, but how nice!). One day or two after my appointment, I had a terrible headache (tension in the neck muscles because they didn't want to adjust). I texted Dr Gene, and he replied to come right in and they would make space for me. I am very satisfied with the care I have received at this office and would heartily recommend it to YOU! Edit: I am healing quite nicely and can walk without any pain! :) Other notes: The business has not claimed their Yelp page, so don't message them here- a phone call is the best way to contact them and set up appointments. Great local business- I have been to another chirporactor office in Lompoc and I was shocked in a bad way of how they treated their workers. Everyone at Dr Gene's office seems happy, healthy, and well taken care of. That's the kind of business I want to support.

I had been suffering from daily headaches that left my face feeling numb and my neck extremely stiff for two years. My primary doctor found nothing wrong. I sought relief with massages and spent hundreds of dollars trying to get relief. I had to try something new. However, I have extreme anxiety when it comes to meeting with doctors and was terrified to set up a consultation here. Clearly I did and it changed the quality of life. Within one visit my headaches became less frequent. I've had about 15 adjustments now and have been headache free. Setting up the appointment was easy and the next step was to fill out an online questionnaire about my health history and pain. This was the most in-depth review I have seen from a healthcare provider and it was clear that the information was reviewed and taken in to consideration by Dr. Stevens as he laid out my treatment. I was pleased to discover that visual and physical tools are used to figure out what's going on. The X-ray (in office) showed my spine was crooked and my neck was messed up. Finally, a reason I felt awful all of the time! Before the adjustment I needed reassurance that Dr. Stevens wasn't going to twist my body or break my neck. I was assured by him and his staff who were patient and gentle with my anxiety. The adjustment takes place on a table that seems to eliminate the need to do manual manipulation (at least for me). It's fast, too! The table takes longer to lower than it does to be adjusted. It's great! I have also never waited more than 3 minutes to be seen. This place is efficient and I frequently started my lunch breaks with an adjustment with plenty of time to spare. Dr. Stevens is patient and really aims to make sure his patient understands why there's an issue and how it'll be treated. The ladies on his staff are as equally fantastic. My emails are returned immediately and appointments are always accommodated. They even accommodated me when I was going to arrive after they closed because I was coming from out of town. As a patient I feel valued and cared for. Obviously I can't say enough about Life Chiropractic. If you made it this far into my review and you have been suffering with pain, I strongly encourage you to give this place a go.
