The owner, Corey Mitchell, delivered exceptional workmanship and care in the design, replacing an existing deck (28 years old), and adding on to double the overall size for our new deck. While the pricing was not the least expensive compared to other contractors, Corey listened to us, offered input that helped us understand quality of products to use, make changes per his suggestions as needed along the way (at no additional cost), and stay within the code requirements all to save on our out-of-pocket cost. Corey was personable, respectful, and fun to talk to. He saw that we had a new mailbox delivered to our home. Corey installed the mailbox at no cost to us. For all of the aforementioned reasons....... I would encourage anyone to consider utilizing Corey Mitchell, the NC Deck & Railing Company, because of being trustworthy and because of building quality. I did a little digging on the Jo S. profile after we reached out directly to them to see if we could understand why they targeted us with a negative review and discovered the following: They have reviews several times on the same day for both a business in NC and in CA. In February they have a review for an office cleaning company in CA. In March gave a review for their apartment complex in Durham (supposedly); they wouldn't need us to build a deck if they lived in an apt. All told, they have done 55 reviews and 41 of them are 1 star and anther 4 are 2 stars. I've reported the profile for negative spamming of businesses and asked that YELP look further into this. read more

I had an excellent experience with Corey and his crew. First they Barlow's with the design and followed all of our requirements. They were professional offering a full written contract and they were reliable, showing up when they said they would and communicating when plans changed. Corey was able to make changes as we requested new services. They installed a deck and a back door and repaired some of our siding. His pricing was fair and Corey goes out of his way to make sure his customers are satisfied and happy with the results. I would definitely hire him again. read more

I absolutely Love this Company! Corey and his crew were so kind and respectful and I would hire them again! they built and installed my railings on My back porch this past spring and it is Beautiful and the quality and workmanship is great! They also built a bridge for me that crosses over a small brook and it is just perfect! Everyone at this Company is so awesome! we needed a new deck after contacting several decking companies we decided on NC Deck and Railing to do the work. From start to finish we were kept in the loop. they were so clean, everyday after takedown and construction they cleaned everything thing up even blowing all of the sawdust away. The finished deck was beautiful and my wife was pleased. a couple of months after we asked them to come and seal the deck for us. if you want great people who care about there work then give them a call. thank you Corey! read more
