This place is fantastic! The customer service here is so wonderful! My fiancé and I got engaged right before visiting this amazing winery. Rachel specifically was so sweet, accommodating and knowledgeable. We purchased two bottles of their ice wine and it is TO DIE FOR! I highly recommend. We also sampled a few other wines such as Riesling, Pinot Grigio and desert syrup. The best part of our visit is that every purchase goes directly back into the studies. This place is worth the stop and the wine selection available is very impressive.

The Niagara College Teaching Winery is the centre for wine education in the Niagara Peninsula and is the only fully licensed teaching winery in Canada. Wine Visitor + Education Centre is where all the year round tour starts ($5) and where you can taste or purchase the wines that produced by their professional wine makers and with the involvement of students. Make sure you go to the back of the facilities which overlook the vineyard, the view is just stunning! And imagine doing a wine tasting right there at the picnic table on a nice sunny day! The students that taking courses and certificates here about wine are just so lucky!! I wish I can take a course here some day!

I ended up visiting this location for the first time with family yesterday morning and must say we were all pleasantly surprised with how great the tour was! We signed up for a WagJag deal where we ended up getting paying $55 for 4 ppl and received the following: A 1 hour guided tour with tasting of 3 wines pp, a brewery tour with a tasting of 3 specialty drafts pp and a picnic-style lunch comprised of a turkey sandwich, dessert and macaroni salad. Overall I was impressed with not only the quality of the students running the tours and facilities, but a greater appreciation of the college itself and these programs for both beer and wine making. Finally, a neat little tip for the summer visitors! The students also run a garden center that is open to the public for the purchasing of plants. Something definitely worth checking out at the end of your lunch afterwards! :)

This is one of my favourite wineries in NOTL. Tastings are generous and well explained. Sitting with a glass on wine in their back patio looking out into the vineyards and hills is life! Service is very friendly. Can't wait to go back!

At first we were skeptical about this place because we heard that students are making the wine. Once we went in and started tasting the wines, we were surprised. Some were really good. Talking to the well educated tasting room staff, we actually found out that the whole wine making process from start to finish is supervised by the professors who happen to be winemakers at some of this area's wineries. They have a spacey and modern tasting room with friendly and knowledgable staff. They are actually students at the school. They are enthusiastic about their wines. They have a outdoor seating area overlooking their beautiful vineyards. It's a nice area to sit and relax with a glass of wine. They have good variety of white and red wines. my favorite is 2010 Canadian oak Pino noir. Price is very reasonable. My husband likes the 2010 French oak Pino noir.

Beware of any tour bus that makes you stop at this place.. They offered one sip of wine and wanted you to pay to try more..

We had an amazing visit at Colaneri. This was by far our favorite winery of the trip that had…read moreamazing wine. Our wine tasting experience was so fun and we felt that we got a good variety of all the wines they had to offer. I did end up purchasing the Sangria which we opened and enjoyed outside. They have a gelato cart which was very popular and I was told it was quite good since I didn't partake but the people I was with did. This winery definitely had the family owned feel as everyone was inviting, enjoyed conversations, and we also got to meet a family member during our wine tasting experience.

There was plenty of parking right in front, and the views of the building and vineyard were absolutely beautiful. We were greeted warmly by the hostess when we arrived, and when we requested a table in the shade, she gladly accommodated us. The service throughout lunch was excellent. My wife has a tree nut allergy, and our waitress made sure to inform the kitchen so my wife could safely enjoy her meal without worry, which we really appreciated. We ordered two pizzas and two charcuterie boards. Unfortunately, the charcuterie boards were very overpriced for what was included: each board only had 8 thin slices of salami, 8 thin slices of capicola, a small bowl of olives, and a few small pieces of cheese. Two boards came to roughly $70 before tax, which definitely did not feel worth the price. The prosciutto and arugula pizza was also VERY dry, and surprisingly they didn't even have balsamic glaze or balsamic vinegar available for it. Another waitress brought over some olive oil, but then charged us $3 for it, which honestly didn't sit right considering we explained how dry the pizza was. The location, atmosphere, and service were wonderful, but the food quality and pricing left a lot to be desired. We usually just come here for wine, but we won't be returning.

He was very knowledgeable on wine making and had a wonderful insight to share. He was patient and answered all our questions as he took us to Hinterbrook, Rambler-Run-Palatine Hills, Piliterri, and Pondview. Each vineyard had their own personality and style. We even had time to visit the Gretsky whisky distillery for a tasting. Yum.. The only critique I would say was to vary up the lunch restaurant. The Hob Nob at Charles Inn was good but a bit uppity for my tastes. Some thoughts: Change the light jazz music during lunch time. Too dull. Giving a broader choice for lunch menu would have been appreciated even if had an additional charge. After we ate, I checked out their typical lunch menu and there were a few items I would have really enjoyed. Salmon and duck... Thank you Niagara Vintage Wine tours!

We then went to 3 different wineries which were lovely and very interesting hearing about the wineries and their owners and history. Lunch was included at Zees Grill which was in Niagara in the Lake. Lunch was very good and we had a little time to take a walk before moving onto more wineries. Overall great day and would highly recommend!

I've been on quite a few wine tours over the years, and it does take a certain personality to be able to do it well - but Rich was able to entertain AND be personable. He was professional AND endearing. He was always engaged in what we thought of each stop, and his relationship with the people at the breweries/distilleries/wineries seemed genuine. And whether it was him or just the smaller size, It honestly felt like we were treated better, being a part of Rich's group, then being in a group of 50 coming off a tour bus.   The stops were all great. I had some reservations about a few, but was honestly able to find something I loved at each location. Not to mention, the price is extremely competitive with all of the other tours I was researching. The van we were in was even fancy and brand new. If you're looking for something just a little different than your standard wine tour, I cannot recommend them enough.

There was a very nice selection of liquor and wine, but most of it was much more expensive than in the US. I did get a bottle of Baileys birthday cake that I'd never seen before. Even though it's not right in the Clifton Hill area it is still packed with out of towners like me and locals. We actually had to wait for a parking spot because the lot is so full. Everywhere outside the lot you have to pay for parking, hence the traffic in the lot. The liquor prices aren't bad and they will accept USD, and credit. I'm not sure about debit, what I do know is they wouldn't accept my Discover card. Normally I use Amex but they're charging international rates, so the hell with them on this trip. Today I used cash and the clerk made the exchange and provided change in CA currency. I picked out a 200 ml bottle of Crown Royal which costly about 11 USD, not best, but still cheaper than what you're going to get at any restaurant here. I'll probably pop back in here one more time before we go to the NY side. I'm sure we will need another night out on the town, and that whiskey is unbelievably good on a cold night.
