Tribes of old fries languishing on every conceivable surface. A worker spilled cooking oil and didn't have time to clean it up (a serious accident waiting to happen). All the employees were wearing gloves so that was nice but it just seemed like they were desperately trying treading water and as a result, the food prep area was dirty (which had I glanced before paying for my order, I would have opted to go somewhere else). There were two workers and a manager so perhaps they were short a person? Toilets were reasonably clean for how busy it was w our burgers tasted yum!

When we asked what was good we were told just the plain burger. They seemed very disinterested in having us inside waiting. Like we were disturbing them from checking their YouTube videos. There were some chips on the floor and the place could have done with a wipe down. If it was my business and my staff were this lack luster they would be seeking new employment . Burger was soggy from so much sauce. I probably should have taken the advise and got a plain burger. On the plus side the burger and bun were well cooked. It was better than a Macdonald's burger but can't say I would come back when there are so many options in Cambridge.

He, his wife and children (toddlers at the time) were such wonderful people. No Chinese place in America (that I've had) can compare to Rising Star. So many times I have wished to travel back to the UK just for my favorite meal "Spiced Smoked Chicken". I enjoy visiting fish and chip shops when in England because back home in Northern Ireland the standards are generally poor in comparison when dealing with battered products. In NI we are accustomed to thick, heavy batter with a hard outer shell at either end and often a layer of dough underneath. In England, I can be fairly confident about getting very light batter which is neither hard nor undercooked. The Fish House in Ely definitely met my expectations very favourably and if my stay in Ely had been longer, I would most definitely have returned!

I also appreciate the garlic bread, crunchy on the top and soft in the middle. My favorite thing to order is the chicken thighs because of how tender it is, but the chicken butterfly/breast is also not too bad Overall, pretty good experience at this Nando's other than the fact that the serving size was quite small. I would say that this Nando's fluctuates with the amount of seats available - Saturday lunch is around a 30 minute wait while Sunday dinner is completely empty.
