Let me start off by saying that, I could never put into words how incredible this office is and how grateful I am for the staff. When I first considered the military and started this process at age 16, I had 1 goal: to get into the Navy. While I was motivated and driven to reach my goal, I needed assistance, guidance, and direction. That's when Petty Officer Sheprow entered my life. He was informative, wise, hardworking, and selfless. He not only provided me with the information I needed but went above and beyond to ensure me that he was going to help me reach my goal. When the process was officially moving and the ball was rolling, I had no idea what both him and I were in for. For 2 years straight, nothing but challenges and hardships. Of course, we both could not control the elements, but honestly, I was very close to just calling of the entire thing. Without Sheprow's support and willingness to stand by my side and have my back through everything, I would have. I am proud and happy to announce that I will soon be starting my career as a U.S. Sailor. Taking that oath and swearing in, was one of my biggest accomplishments and I would not have been able to do that without him. I would also like to shout out and give thanks to Chief Hughes and Petty Officer Ricks. Both of these gentlemen dedicated their time and efforts to help me succeed and I could not be more grateful. They worked tirelessly and endlessly just to make sure I was happy, supported, and on my way to join the world's greatest fleet. For that, I am forever thankful and appreciative. Once more, I would not be where I am at today, without them. I can wholeheartedly say that this isn't just a job to the staff. They pour their hearts and souls into this and genuinely care about their recruits. Thank you for keeping your promise and helping me reach my goal.
