So lets just ditch that boring workout routine surrounded by all those purple or orange walls and the rows of new fangled treadmills with little TVs attached, (of course we will not disclose the location of said purple or orange walls) Why should you pay diddly for those squats I ask? The gym is never too crowded which I love and they have amazing hours during the week. Sometimes I like to come in early at 5am and sometimes I like coming in at 9pm. The gym is always clean and doesn't have that musty gym smell that some gyms have. They also support freedom of choice which I love! I was talked into joining another gym. After wasting money on LA Fitness which closed the closest location near my house, I took a chance on NP OC. It was only $30 down and $39 a month. That's cheap compared to $120 down and $45 a month elsewhere. The staff is friendly. It was easy to sign up. They sell various protein drinks at the front desk. There's a small "lounge" area at the front and I've been told about the sauna and pool. I'm not remotely interested in either. I'm there to lift weights. Yes, the equipment is kinda outdated. So what? If the other reviews mention that you have to wonder if they keep the plastic on their sofa in their living room for guests to just look at it or actually use it. I go there to lift weights, use the machines, and go home. They have a huge parking lot, plenty of room to get a workout done and the clientele are normal people looking to get into great shape without the hassle of personal trainers hounding you for hire or lunks taking endless videos of themselves shirtless for Instagram. Bonus - there's a second gym in Milwaukie (my home town) in case my lifting buddy can't get to this location. read more

This is a great family gym. Full selection of machines and the best dumbbell selection anywhere. A great atmosphere!

All staff are very nice, very clean, all patrons very nice, good location, kids love the pool and spa. It is so great that OC has a gym that has it all in one, and it's a local family business, support small business! read more

I was a member for a very long time. I enjoyed the family feel but... as this gym has aged, so has everything else. Equipment breaks frequently and isn't repaired in a reasonable time. Especially since there is a small cardio area and not enough equipment. My son used to also workout there and used the weight section. He told me of broken equipment and bent bars. I spoke to an ex member recently. He'd been with this gym since 1981. He said some of the weight area equipment was from 1981. The other main reason I left is because of the cleanliness issue. The bathroom is old and not clean. Cobwebs come down from the ceiling and the ceiling fans are dirty and most likely haven't ever been cleaned. I wonder if the owners just don't care anymore and are trying to find a way out. read more

Inner Beast Crossfit at this gym is amazing! I have never been a gym goer, but the trainers they have running their program are incredible and I can't imagine going anywhere else. Totally worth the money! read more

Perfect gym!! Has everything you need. cardio, weights, separate room for females (if said females so desire), coed sauna and steam rooms. jacuzzi, pool, tanning.... They have classes outside separate building. Excellent staff! Could stay open a little longer on weekends but hey, you can't have it ALL.... can you? :) read more

Love the staff, so friendly and she remembers things I tell her and it really makes me feel like a part of the community! The cardio equipment is phenomenal, they have a type of elliptical that is belt driven to adjust to your stride that is great. The weight equipment is alright, two of the cable machines could use some updating. I wish I could rate in half stars, I feel like 4.5 is more appropriate. All in all, i would definitely recommend Nautilus :) read more

I'm very thankful that this gym automatically is not charging any of us due to the corona virus since everything is shut down but it's nice not to worry about being charged like other fitness places are doing so thank you nautilus. This place looks out for the customers. read more

This gym is family! I am only in town visiting and went here on recommendation and I can see why! Not only is the facility clean and fantastic, but there is a good group of power lifters here who I wish I could be a part of. If I ever move out here this is where I'm coming!!! read more

I'm surprised that Nelson's remains open and taking membership when all other fitness centers remain closed to combat COVID-19. Cleaning equipment is a necessity however, breathing in exhaled air and circulating air with a fan is not a good practice to prevent infection. Had a bad experience and was overcharged for 6 months after membership was cancelled. Was a member for a year, moved downtown and cancelled my membership. The attendant behind the front desk said I was fine. Later found out I was being charged each month since then. Mentioned to management that I would post a review, "You wouldn't be the first one" was the response. Buyer beware. read more

This would be a nice club with decent employees you are very helpful. It has all the helpful things you need like daycare, pool, locker, tanning, equipment, etc. However some of their equipment really needs to be recycled and the worst thing that I can see is that they need to hire a cleaning service, the carpets are filthy, the tanning rooms are filthy the aerobic spaces are dirty and where they lay the mats in the ladies room with the free weights for floor work is dirty. If the place could be cleaned FLOOR to WALL (not just vacuum the middle spaces) that in it self would be a major improvment. When I see dirt that hasn't moved for months it makes me feel gross. read more

Pretty decent gym. I love that it's only 2 miles from where I live. This gym has been around for about 17years, so it might seem a little run down. But a lot of the cardio equipment is pretty new and in great shape. I love that there is a sauna, pool/hot tub, and steam room. I do wish there were more evening group classes available. Very functional Gym with everything you could ask for a decent price, most people join and remain members for the long haul, I've been a member for over 10 years and have made many friends that also have been members for ever, the owners Jonny and Lisa are very involved in day to day stuff and the staff is always helpful, I've belonged to fancier gyms that were more expensive but this place has easy parking and is just really functional and keeps me working out regularly and feeling good. read more

I really enjoy this place, people are great and everyone is so polite. Everything is almost perfect seem to have a few things that need to be looked at but doesnt anywhere. This place continues to decline. I cannot believe they do not get shut down based on the pool alone. I go because they are the only adult pool in Oregon City and I need pool exercise. There's a lot of chorine and I assume that's why they haven't been cited or closed down. I really want them to succeed and be clean. I'd be happy to pay more money for a cleaner facility. The help hangs at the front desk ignoring customers and chatting. They are mostly rude. I must drive to join a cleaner facility and it bums me out because Nelson's is a five minute drive! Unfortunately our experience was not the same as everyone else describes. My mother was treated extremely rude by the owner's wife, over a locker misunderstanding issue. The broken lock was rudely thrown towards my mother on the desk after she was made a liar when she told the owners wife that the locker policy was not clearly explained, which keep in mind was a costumer. That alone shows how professional this establishment is. After the broken lock was thrown on the desk my mother threw her lock key on the desk. My mother expressed that she was being treated rudely. Then the gym owners wife exploded at my mother in front of all of the customers, insulted her and told her and my wife(keep in mind wasn't involved and was already working out on a machine) to get out of the gym. Being confused and startled after being yelled at, my mother proceeded to go towards the cardio floor to get my wife since they were now being kicked out, when the owner's wife jumped in front of her with arms extended like a basketball player blocking a player to prevent her from going in, in front of all of the customers, and called the police. Seriously, that's pretty low to do to anyone especially a 65 year old woman. We had just signed on the night before, we revoked our membership right then and there. BE CAREFUL IF YOU DECIDE TO WORKOUT HERE, IF YOU DISAGREE WITH THIS ESTABLISHMENT YOU MIGHT BE PUBLICLY HUMILIATED AND THROWN OUT. To be fair all of the other employees we're awesome and quite friendly, maybe the owners wife should learn from them. read more

I just stopped in there intending to do just a one day visit, but I ended up going back there off and on for a couple months. I decided later however, I wouldn't join long term. The people there were very nice. I got some decent workouts in, but some of the machines are a little old, and not well maintained, although I think most of them are fine. Some of the bikes heart monitors don't work, which actually isn't all that unusual. The free-weight area is decent. There is a small swimming pool. The locker room is a decent size, but not nearly enough lockers and they are too close together considering the room they have there. They need more locker space and more lockers. It seems crowded in there even though there's not that many people, and sometimes it's tough to find room to change. The shower area is old but clean. There's no grab handles inside the shower stalls, which could be a problem for older people. Also, the floor to the pool gets very slick and you need to be extremely cautious especially with bare feet. There should be non-slip surface over that tile. Perhaps after someone slips and breaks a hip they might do something about that. In the pool area, There's a decent sauna, and a spa. They keep the spa at the right temperature, as they do the pool. There appears to be considerable moisture damage in the pool ceiling areas and around the windows, which gives the impression it's not very well maintained. Further, there's a terrible infestation of stink bugs and moths throughout the pool area. The fact that they are getting in there at all (windows are all closed) is a big red flag. I know stink bugs are a problem to control, but there are ways to keep them out. Not only are there stink bugs on the windows, they are on the concrete around the pool, some dead, some alive. There are even dead stink bugs in the bottom of the pool, which is disgusting. I know they stink - but didn't know they sink! I decided to take my business elsewhere. read more

I like this gym. While the building needs upkeep, the machines, weights and equipment are well maintained, and the cardio equipment is fairly new. It's not too crowded most of the time, no meat market atmosphere. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place to work out, this is your choice. If you want glitz, go elsewhere. read more
