I have been to the Naughty Chef in Wynyard and really enjoyed the Pho, so I figured I'd try the sit down place near Central Station. I had passed by it numerous times while on my way home on the bus.
Came here on a Monday night and it was fairly empty, expect for one big table of Asian people. Asian people at an Asian restaurant - always a good sign.
Met fellow Yelper Linda I there and we ordered some Spring/Rice Paper Rolls and the Pho Tai. We asked for water and he brought out a bottle and two cups. We then asked if we could just have tap and he was like, "from the sink?" and we said yes.
The rolls came out a few minutes later and with a nice hoison sauce with peanuts. They were fresh and delicious. The pho came out shortly after and was very tasty. All the veggies, bean sprouts and mint were already in the soup, which was a bit strange. I usually like to put in myself. The bowl was accompanied by hoison and chili sauce, actual chili pieces and a lemon. Bowl had plenty of noodles and beef.
In the end it cost us $15, not too shabby for dinner. Service was about average, as was the ambiance, but I probably wouldn't want to eat pho in a fancy place. read more
