We were thrilled to hear about this new, in-home daycare as it was my son's very first childcare outside of the home and it was the perfect transition for him. Tamarisk had us come over for a tour and her warm demeanor and charming facility had us feeling right at home. She has created such a magical facility for children, from the cottage playhouse, to an adorable outdoor tent, fruit trees and garden - it's a wonderful place for children to explore and play. It put my mind at ease to know that my son was in a safe, small & nurturing environment. Tamarisk was great about sending messages, photos & videos on WhatsApp throughout the day so I always felt updated on what they were doing. The photos she captured were also the highlight of my day - she takes the most incredible photos of the kids playing (better than any I take) - and we have several now have framed in our home. She made a variety of nutritious foods as well - so I know my son always had a delicious and healthy meal while he was there. I am so grateful for the year he spent at Mighty Oaks, and now that he's at preschool I miss it. Cannot say enough great things about our experience at Mighty Oaks. We have the best memories from our time there and are still friends with Tamarisk and her family.

It's nearly impossible to get in touch with your caseworker by phone, so calling feels like a waste…read moreof time. If you decide to go in person, make sure to arrive early or be prepared for a long wait. Some of the staff speak in a condescending tone, which is disappointing coming from professionals in social services. On one occasion, I was questioned about why I hadn't come in earlier to follow up on my benefits. I explained that the online portal showed my paperwork had been received and was pending review, so I was simply following the instructions and being patient. Instead of acknowledging that, the worker responded dismissively -- as if my explanation wasn't valid. Later, I found out my paperwork had actually been overlooked and left pending for months, meaning the portal was inaccurate. Rather than taking accountability, I was reprimanded for not contacting them sooner. It's frustrating to be blamed for their oversight, especially when you're doing your part and following the system as instructed.

Let me say, we are over the moon about Grace Lutheran Nursery School. Within the first week, our child fell in love with this school. First thing she does in the morning is say "time for school!" and is upset on weekend mornings when she can't attend school. Within the first month, we noticed giant strides in her vocabulary, color recognition, social demeanor, and her attitude. Grace Lutheran has developed a love for school within our child which we believe will stay with her for years to come. The teachers are wonderful, always smiling, and helpful. We are very grateful for Grace Lutheran Nursery School and all they do for our child!
