There's only a few seats (bar stools) available, but we came here in the early evening and had no problem grabbing two. This is definitely a local's spot tucked away on a quaint street in Trastevere. The owner is so friendly, he even explained the dishes of the day in English for us. It should be noted that they change their menu everyday, and it consists of mostly vegetarian and vegan options. It's locally sourced ingredients, and the chef creates the dishes based on the season's vegetables. There's also various local organic cheeses you can buy. We had several types of dishes: the artichoke and carrot lasagne, the herb and spinach balls, the spinach quiche, and freshly squeezed juices with different vegetables and fruits. We also tried the vegan chocolate and pear muffin it was fantastic and so fresh! There's also wine and beer, this place is just wonderful - will definitely be back before we leave!

Each course was better than the last. Classic Ayurveda philosophy of using all the flavors in each course. It was very filling, and too much for one person so I ended up taking some back to the hotel to enjoy later. There was only one waiter and the place was packed so it took a while for my food to come out. But he was very apologetic about the wait and I honestly didn't mind. In Ayurveda medicine it is best to eat slowly and enjoy each bite. I recommend this place if you're looking for more than just a quick bite, and enjoy the experience.

The owner gave me a delectable plate of eggplant lasagna, sautéed greens and grilled vegetables, with a bread puff filled with vegetable pieces similar to the consistency of a hush puppy. I was floored. If you're looking to get a taste of local Italian cuisine while in Rome, this is the place. Could not have been more satisfied after trying Carbonara, Gnocchi, and pizza dishes cooked by foreigners and being subsequently begged to leave a tip which is not customary in Italian culture cuisine. Tastevere's owners bring the food in fresh daily from their farm. They are very proud of the fact that all of the food is organic and home-grown. And you can really taste the freshness - we had a variation of bruschetta with spinach and leaks which was bursting with flavor. Their meat and cheese plate with mortadella, prosciutto, and pecorino cheeses with various types of honey was the highlight. I will definitely come back for an aperitivo or light meal here. It is not often that you can eat healthy when snacking on delicous nibbles, but that is exact the case at Tastevere.

Outside of oatmilk, the healthy stuff simply can not compete with the outstanding quality of Italian groceries. Italian groceries taste amazing and the produce is as fresh and healthy as it can possibly be. (Particularly if you shop at neighborhood farmers markets.) But NaturaSi is super useful on one thing. They have cookies and candy bars that are totally insane. Going to a health food store to load up on cookies and candy seems to be contrary to the whole point of the enterprise. Pick up an oat milk while you are at it to maintain your integrity. My wife says the chocolate oat milk is first rate.
