All the way from Morocco they have the most beautiful leather pieces aswell as Moroccan interior. Falling in love with this leather bag, I had to have it. Paying a reasonable price I thought I got myself a bargain. Scrawling through the rest of stalls I more and more felt a strong weight hanging from my arm. Nevertheless I proudly paraded around until I sat next to a passenger on the tube, who made a funny face. Not thinking anything bad I was back in my flat. The next morning I wake up in a cloud of goat odor! Since then I pack the leather bag in two rubbish bags, to avoid that my little flat smells of goat. Ladies be warned - there is nothing as unerotic as smelling of goat!

Nothing wrong with generous discounts over Easter though and I made a special trip into town to pick up a laundry basket I had spotted online. Five stars to the staff at the downstairs tills who went out of their way to assist me. The discount wasn't clear from the display (prices are guaranteed to be the same as on the website, good to know) and they picked up a boxed item from storage, then even added some string to make it easier to transport. I was a bit concerned to see both Habitat and Argos product numbers displayed on the box (apparently they are now both owned by the same group), instantly devaluing the item in my mind (am I a snob?!). But with the 30% off the Habitat version still saved me £10 over Argos - phew. The King's Road branch has just closed and I wonder how much longer Habitat will hold out next to Heal's.

I hope that this day never ever happens. But I am sure I would have an ounce of joy shopping in Habitat, because when you are in there you do find yourself becoming very attatched to interesting salad spoons, and wishing the lovely cushions, quite affordable you may kad yourself, were all yours. The christmas light range has just come out, and I want all of the lights because they can make christmas good, no matter what. I think. Well they look beautiful anyway. The new habitat on Regent Street is set out like an art gallery apparently... will have to give it a little visit! What gets my goat the most is the bed linen and bed spreads and general bed things. They are amazing. Amazing patterns by various designers. Could make anyones bedroom look like the comfiest haven in the world. I found my dream bed throw.Oh my god! It was on sale! For £159. Damn. There are little decorative things I could afford, but the only thing I really WANT (or maybe even need...) is that silk bedspread. One day... one day.

Zero communication, Zero for customer service - AVOID…read more Purchased a table from this company on their eBay shop. I sent an offer which the seller accepted, took payment then decided to cancel my purchase at 11.00pm that evening. No communication, no courtesy of an explanation, nothing. This wouldn't have been such an issue if I hadn't purchased a matching credenda unit. I'm honest in my dealings and honour my obligations, shame this seller doesn't share the same level of integrity.

It is filled with rather battered and individual pieces of furniture, art books and the odd broken object. Nothing is priced or has any indication of being for sale, instead the drawers and cupboards have more of these antiquities housed inside them, a few months ago even a collection of modern plastic sunglasses appear in the shop. The shop reminds me of the strange things you might find in a house left behind by an old rather senile person, but I love it. I love furniture and I love when you can see history and personality in it. Everything in here is unique and honest. Expect to find a deteriorating leather chaise, a large industrial tin locker unit, a 60's lampshade and an encyclopedia of African Art hidden behind a 1950's school photograph in a smashed frame. Everyone deserves to visit Bleu Furniture.

I really believe that a business can be successful and sustainable. 30% of the wood they use is reclaimed, they visit their wood suppliers to make sure they adhere to certain environmental and ethical standards, and they tell the consumer the 'furniture miles' a piece has travelled to reach the shop. Three small changes that can be make a huge difference. Walking into the shop the smells of oak and mahogany are intoxicatingly delicious, its nature. Not only is the showroom enormous but they also have sales throughout the year for ex-display items, you can grab a good deal (up to 40% off retail price) and have a clear conscious. The furniture speaks for itself, it is pompous, present and beautiful. As their slogan reads 'beautiful furniture should be sustainable' I am all for that!

"Ah," I realized, "this must be the true meaning behind that song." The Geranium shop on Walworth Road. You walk in and the first thing you notice is a slight smell. The smell that old clothes somehow take on when stored together en masse. It's not a terrible smell, just slight musty. The racks are not organized by size like they are in most charity shops. Happily, however, the goods are organized by genre - bed linens are not next to men's shirts which are not mixed in with women's skirts. My favorite rack, though I didn't find anything 'Me' per say, was the one pound rack. It actually had some decent stuff on it. There's also a nice selection of books. Tada!

I didn't just want the bubble bath; I wanted the cotton sheets, the robes, and even this incredible desk! And yes, all of it was for sale. I did fall in love with desk, it was really a dressing table, very delicate with a mirror, it would be perfect for any woman's bedroom, especially if you like to sit in front of a mirror and slowly get ready. The shop is on the expensive side but not crazily so. The robes were in the £50-£60 range and the pjs a little less (the dressing table about £565). I have to admit, I could sit around in those pjs all day. I loved Cologne and Cotton and am sure I'll spend lots of hard earned money in this shop so I can have a little bit of decadence at home.

It's the most remarkable boutique for imported Indian decorative…read moreaccents... but stop right there, because I know your brain just conjured up horrific images of grand swaths of maroon fabric, brassy saffron throw pillows covered in sequins, and garishly ornate wood carvings of the Hindu elephant god, Ganesh. This shop couldn't be further from every tawdry cliché you've ever associated with Indian décor... for starters, when you first walk in, you find yourself gently gripped by the earthy colour palette; there's a very organic feel to it all... lots of browns, mossy greens, punctuated by the occasional shiny flash of colour. Nothing's too unnatural... and the vibe is surprisingly soothing. The woman who runs this shop, Tracy, has a to-die-for eye. She founded Opium after a trip to India left her captivated by the country's furniture and other flourishes... but unlike some who've tried to make a go of importing goods from Asia (I've known at least two who have failed) Tracy seems to have a sixth sense as to what pieces will still hold their magic once they touch down on another continent. There's something very classic, artistic, and timelessly appealing about the sculptures, furniture, doorknobs, pictures, and myriad of other décor to be found here; the grander statement pieces look beautifully authentic - not like they were manufactured en mass for sucker-tourists to cart away. Lots of antiques... and plenty of designs that would look right in place in a more traditional home - not just one with an "Asian" theme going on. If you have any interest in unusual and eclectic décor, I highly suggest you make the trip here. There's also a section of Tracy's own handcrafted jewelry... fabulously unique pieces made from *beautiful* stones (again! This woman's eye!) And if all that weren't enough.... Tracy and the staff she hires are possibly the most amiable, gracious, and genuinely winsome people I've ever encountered in one shop. They're just that *very* rare mix of vivacious and warm, yet *cool*, sort of people that you can't help but think, "wow... um, can we be friends?!"
