Save yourself the regret and try it now! It's really not painful, the needles are much smaller than any medical procedure, and Sarah WANTS you to have a good + healing time so just communicate with her. I literally have been telling everyone I know. If you have a chronic pain issue don't just live with it, fix it! Acupuncture is recommended as a valid treatment by John Hopkins + Harvard. It's not pseudo science, it's real science that works with your nerves and stimulates neurotransmitters. I waited until after 5 sessions (~7 weeks) to post this review, but I seriously feel like I inhabit a different body than I had in March when I had my first appointment (posting this in May). I have had painful tension headaches and migraines with auras my entire adult life - and so does some of my extended family - so I assumed they were just something I had to manage. Growing up as a gymnast, I've gotten more massages than I can count from a variety of different places so I know exactly what makes a great massage. I've tried so many types of recovery and rehabilitation practices and I keep returning to Function. They offer so many different services: massage, acupuncture, cupping, dry needling, etc. Joy is the best! She's very skilled and is the only person I've gone to that can apply the high amount of pressure I need to help my back. They also have a great space, it's super comfortable and they offer free tea. They have their own parking lot so it's super easy to access. Price wise, they have pretty standard prices. It's about $140 for an hour long massage (cupping can be added at no additional cost) which is more than fair for the service they provide. He listens well and works with me to determine the root of the issue, as much as possible. Also, from the beginning he's flexibly tailored the treatments based on what's worked for me and what hasn't- instead of requiring I undergo all types of treatments (previous chiropractors have required services like elecrostim, which didn't seem to help me). Dr Dave tailored muscle strengthening exercises so they were more advanced and athletic focused, complimenting my regular weight lifting routine.
