I am a functional medicine Dr. and called the store to see if they carried high dose vitamin D (50,000 iu) for my 90 year old father. I was assured they did. He went to pick it up and was told they didn't have it and that was too much to take anyway.(practicing medicine wo a license) I then called and voiced my disgust and asked them to have it out and waiting for him. They said they would. He went back and AGAIN they said they didn't have it. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I had been in the Natural Grocers in Dallas and it was the first time I'd been in this brand store. I really liked it, so when I saw there was one in Amarillo I decided to stop in and see if they had a couple things I hadn't found at the Dallas location. The same essential oil combination that they were out of in Dallas they were also out of at this location, unfortunately. I couldn't resist buying some kelp powder to try out in place of salt to cut back on my sodium intake. They don't carry the brand of essential oil that makes the Thieves Oil, Young Living I think it's called, so I bought a similar blend in another brand. I was also looking for Wondercide products which they evidently carry in Dallas but not at this location. They had come highly recommended by my niece. I was disappointed not to find those two brands but otherwise happy with the store. The clerks are very helpful and they don't wait for you to ask for help, they ask if you need any help when they pass by you. If you have any questions you can ask and they do their best to answer. That's great customer service and greatly appreciated. read more

Love this place, we go here almost everyday of the week to grab something. All the staff is friendly and informative along with being willing to help in anyway they can. The fresh Fruits and Veggies are always clean and smell wonderful. Meats are never past their expiration dates. Great to have a "small market" in town. To Management: Please help the community by expanding this store. We need the cooking classes and health classes that are offered at other Natural Grocers. Also, expanded whole food area to have access to larger variety of health veggies and fruit. Better hurry before Traders Joe's moves in and takes your customers! read more

As a dyed in the wool namby pampy fussy eater (okay, I just have allergies), I needed to find a reasonable selection of diary free foods and dairy free substitutes to use for cooking. I was VERY impressed by the selection here at Natural Grocers. They had a ton of coconut milk based products which are THE BEST (Soy and Rice eww) and super hard to find. Basically, the other health food store doesn't carry them. In addition they had a lot of great things like Gluten free flours, diary free cookies, amy's branded foods, fresh and organic veggies and fruit, etc. All of my favorites were there, plus a bunch of other great stuff to try. For the middle of the panhandle this place had a lot of selection and reminded me of being in Berkeley or Boulder again. Yea! read more

As a traveling vegetarian, it was great to find this place in Amarillo! Our cashier was very nice and I found everything in the store that I wanted! Just remember to bring your own shopping bag! I go to this store weekly. They have decent selection of organic produce and meat. Store is organized and clean. Most of the employees are helpful, except for the cashiers. The cashiers are consistently flat and apathetic, they are unhelpful. If there was another grocery store in Amarillo that offered a similar selection of organic food, I would go there. They get away with bad service because there is no competition. Prepare to unload your cart, sack your groceries and carry them out even if you have a couple kids in tow. May as well be Walmart self-checkout. read more

This is a great store. I'm in an RV on a US road trip. Loved filling up the RV with this great health food. An incredible kombuchi selection. Lots of grains, fresh nuts and seeds, huge drug store section. Hope to find similar stores along my route. read more

I always visit the local natural food store when I am on business travel to be able to make healthy meals. This store was so much fun that I went back twice. The produce was extremely well taken care of with a wonderful selection. The isles were packed with all the groceries, well-being items, and personal care products you could want/need. The staff who checked my order out the first time remembered me the second time I came in asked how my visit was going. That is truly great customer service and just plain nice. No Whole Foods but will suffice, this is my new grocery store, offering a variety of organic and non-gmo products this place is great. The produce is fresh and looks appetizing. The prices are comparable to Whole Foods, some items are more expensive others are less expensive, the variety is ok. It would be nice if they had a fresh deli counter and prepared foods bar. read more

Honestly I had trouble with the staff here being ... aggressive and insulting. The words - "what. are you STUPID? It's your health!" don't bode well with me when we are talking about things that are controversial at best. I won't even discuss the fact that it's not generally a good idea to insult someone's husband in front of a loving wife - and his mother. I realize there are many women out there that will get involved with long drawn out man bashing sessions with strangers - but I am not one of them. My man is not stupid either. In fact - this person seemed to have a particular fondness for that word. I really don't know that I'll go back - my mother-in-law is not so sure either - and she's been a regular for quite a while. If the staff will keep their "man issues" elsewhere - it would be alright there. read more

The store has really gone down hill lately. Every time I am in they are out of all the items I am looking for such as fresh chicken, bacon, eggs, fresh hamburger meat. I loved this store up until about 3 months ago. Lots of management turn over...and some not so nice people working in the vitamin department. So disappointed. read more
