Mr. Di Paolo is a 'hands on' general contractor who manages all facets of the job. His stable of sub contractors is also knowledgeable, competent and with Mr. Di Paolo watching over their work things get done right the first time. I have used other contractors in the past and having them come back to correct a problem that they committed is not only time consuming but costly in the long run. Not with Mr. Di Paolo! Having two bathrooms, a laundry room, eat in kitchen, new fencing, doors, windows electrical upgrades and all the issues that go along with these repairs is a worrisome adventure. We have been disappointed many times before we found Mr. Di Paolo through word of mouth. We have never looked back since then. Now, after almost a decade his work is still strong and true. The plumbing, electric, walls, cabinets, floors (both wood for the kitchen and tile for the restrooms) are still looking like new with no signs of needing replacement as they look like the day they were installed due to superior workmanship. Mr. Di Paolo's integrity is above reproach. I found that by relying on his knowledge base not only saved me time but money too. No short cuts here just sound advice. He seems to have seen it all and knows what to do in almost any situation in the contracting business. If time, money and a professional job are your goals I suggest you talk to Mr. Di Paolo, you will not be disappointed.

We hired Reico (and worked with Cindy) for a full kitchen redesign, and the most important element…read morewe asked for was an island that would seat five people comfortably, with storage on one end. We were extremely clear that the seating needed to be unobstructed--essentially, a counter-height table extension from the cabinets. The final design we approved included an apron, but no measurements were provided to explain how it would impact stool clearance. The rendering even showed five stools at the island, which gave us confidence that it would work as intended. Unfortunately, that was a huge mistake. Because of a poorly designed apron, it is physically impossible to fit standard counter-height stools under the island. The clearance is so low that no stool exists that both fits under the island and allows you to sit and eat comfortably. In other words, the centerpiece of our kitchen--the island seating--is a total failure. It is appalling that a professional kitchen designer would overlook such a basic and critical detail. We assumed we could trust her expertise, but that assumption has left us with an island that cannot function as designed and no reasonable options to fix it without a major renovation. If you are considering working with this company, be warned: do not assume the designer has considered the practical details. Double-check every measurement yourself, because we learned the hard way that they do not.

My husband and I met with the designer (a great lady- big picture-oriented and practical) and her recommended contractor (a knowledgeable, detail-oriented guy who took the time to explain things), and we were excited. When we received the design and estimates, we did get a sticker-shock with respect to the markups of the costs. Based on our designer/contractor interactions, however, we were still considering Reico, even with the markups! But, the level of responsiveness dropped dramatically. Before we knew it, we were informed that our designer (the great lady) was "no longer with the company" and I now have all these spam-type calls from random people I don't know at Reico. Rude.

Matt's was one of several estimates I sought, and pricing was all over the place. Matt's bid was competitive and fair, and he demonstrated a depth of knowledge and familiarity that made me immediately comfortable hiring him. Due to scheduling conflicts with another contractor installing a deck for me, I threw Matt a few curveballs. At least twice I had to ask him to move his start date, and when his team did arrive, the deck contractors were totally in his way. Throughout, Matt was patient and focused on his work. The guys he brought with him worked tirelessly over four days to excavate, remove old materials, prepare proper drainage missing from the old wall, rebuild the wall with new EP Henry pavers and regrade the area around the new wall - as well as around my driveway. Matt and his crew went above and beyond, doing extra regrading work not included in his estimate at no additional charge. And they cleaned up the work area at the end of the job beautifully. The wall looks so good that the old, shabby brick pavers by my pool now look sad by comparison. I'll be asking Matt Burns to come back to address that issue, and others, in the future. Hire Matt with confidence. You'll be glad you did. And if you have questions or want more details just message me. I'm happy to offer my strong recommendation of Matt and his team.
