I have had Nationwide Insurance forever, on cars, house, and life. However, I am not very happy right now, and rethinking how under appreciated customers are. They are not valued anymore.
I am a 63 old female and was stranded today for a little over 3 hrs. When my car wouldn't start, I called the 24-7 Roadside Assistance line, and was told they would send someone out, after they verified my info. Then at the end of verification, the girl asked if I needed a jump or a tow. I told her I wasn't sure. I thought it was my battery, maybe a jumpstart, but I wasn't sure. She said I had to decide which one so she could fill out the paperwork. I said fine, I have no idea, so send me someone to jumpstart, and then if I need a tow, they can do that. She said ok, and told me to expect call. Then when they called, they said due to weather and traffic it would be approx an hour. I asked where they were located, and they said Madison. I called the 24-7 line back and asked for someone closer since I live in the West Nashville area. She said that was not possible, as they had to be fair to the tow truck companies and send whatever company rolled on to their screen when they key in the order. I said fine. A little over an hour later, the guy got there and said it was not my battery, but that I needed a tow. I said can't you tow me, and he said no, he just was there for the jumpstart. In the meantime, I called the Nationwide office that I do business with, and asked if something could be done, and was basically told no. When I asked to have a list of the tow truck companies this service uses, sent to me, they said gosh, I don't think we can do that.
So I had to start all over again. I called the 24-7 line back, they said they would send a tow truck this time. I said can you send me someone from my area, which is West Nashville. She said sure, and then someone from a West Nashville towing company on Centennial Blvd, called and said they would be there in about an hour. They had just dropped off a tow, and were coming back from that. I said fine, and once he got there, it did not take long.
My problem is not with either tow company or driver, because both drivers did everything they were supposed to and in a timely manner. My problem, is with a Company that enlists a service, that would divide up their services where a customer has to make the decision between a jump or a tow, and also, the fact that they send a Tow Company from Madison for someone who is in the West Nashville area. Most the time we can tell, but not always, so I spent from 248 pm, thru 607 pm, sitting in my cold car waiting for service.
What ever happened to being fair to the customer. It seems I was left out in the cold, by a company that I had done nothing but sing their praises of before. Looks to me like they could arrange to send one truck that could tow or jumpstart, then my time would have been cut in half, and I wouldn't feel so under appreciated as a customer. read more
