This magazine exchange program really worked out for me. I do not normally accept sales calls but in this case I thought it was a good time for me to subscribe to a few magazines. Boy did I get a few magazines. They really did supply everything that they offered over the phone. I was also entered into a sweepstakes. They do intend to call and get you to subscribe for renewal this part of course is a little tiresome. This is to be expected, they want to talk. Also you get renewal notices from the publishers at the same time I was instructed by NME to ignore these and go instead with what they had to offer. I did lots of reading which is really all I wanted from a magazine exchange service. Really good read more

They just ripped off my girlfriend for $100. She ordered a year subscription about 3 months ago. Paid for it up front. They called her a couple of days ago, trying to get her to sign up for 3 more years. She very firmly said "NO". They next day, they billed her account anyway, using the ATM card info from the prior order. Total credit card fraud. When called, they swore "no order had been placed" and they money would be immediately returned. 5 days later, no money. She actually had to cancel her ATM card to protect herself, and fill out a Fraud report at the Bank. Stay away from this company...they'll do it to you too. Over the past three years BBB received 402 complaints about the company. Check it out yourself. read more

Biggest scam ever. It's like a trap- you can never get out once you sign up. They preyed on my elderly mother who has dementia and kept billing her credit card after MONTHS of trying to cancel. After months of billing hundreds and hundreds on her card, We had to cancel the credit card and file a complaint. Discover card was amazing and very understanding-this wasn't their first complaint with this company. Absolute worst customer service-made an elderly woman cry on the phone while my sister and I spent hours attempting to work out the cancellation. They were condescending, impatient and rude when explained that she never wanted all of these magazines sent and billed hundreds of dollars per year. I am revolted that they allow such rude people to be the face of their company. This isn't the end of our complaint process, because the call was recorded by us and I hope by them for training purposes. Horrific experience! read more

According to the paper's website it is the only African American publication in Florida that prints twice weekly and owns all its own printing equipment. The paper originally operated in Jacksonville, Florida In 1919 before closing during the Great Depression. It was reopened as a weekly by the son of the owner of that paper, C. In 1962 the paper moved to its current location of 2207 East 21st Avenue. It seems to be distributed mostly around the Sulphur Springs area of Tampa and I have not seen it much elsewhere. I would describe it as old school. Here's the paper's website: http://flsentinel.com/

Playing mainly Hip-Hop music, the DJs all party throughout the Tampa Bay area and are like mini-celebs. The station almost died a few years ago and they kept receiving eons of callers begging them not to die. They had a huge farewell concert that earned them so much money that they were able to stay. Now they have that concert every year called "The Last Damned Show" and also have a spring event called "WiLD Splash". The morning show had it's moments and one day they actually made me laugh when they cracked a joke about Ashlee Simpson changing her hairstyle every day. I think they called her a "crack head" or something, completely uncalled for but funny. They mostly the latest hip-hop songs and are ahead of the trend of other cities radio stations, having a connection with many bay area and other rappers. The only reason I'm not a super huge fan of them is their commercial sessions can last really long so I'll end up changing the station and not changing it back. Whenever I go clubbing at a hip-hop club and want to know what songs I heard, I can usually find them on this radio station or their website.
