I called them when he passed away and it was pretty easy as he was on hospice at the time. It still took over 4 hours to pick him up. Number 1 complaint - after someone passes it is very hard to schedule an appointment. Nothing happens until that appointment is completed. My brother passed away on a Wednesday night and they told me Monday was the soonest. After arguing, I was able to secure a Friday morning phone appointment. I had spoken to 2 other people before that appointment and all 3 people gave me different information. Here is what I think happens. When they are picked up they are taken to Bloomington. All bodies go there. I was told that some locations (Edina, Minneapolis, etc...) do their own cremations and some (St. Paul) do not. So the body is supposed to be moved to your location for cremation (if offered) or cremated and then moved to your chosen location. The second option could mean a week or more delay. So I picked Minneapolis as they assured me I would have the remains faster. I was also told he would be cremated over the weekend and the remains would be available Tuesday or Wednesday. You cannot schedule a pickup appointment until they have been cremated. I called on Monday and was told he would be cremated that day. It was actually Tuesday. On Tuesday I called again and they finally let me schedule an appointment. The soonest I could get was Thursday afternoon. The service was scheduled for Friday morning. What really irked was they made it sound so busy. NOOOO. We arrived early and were parked for a half an hour. No one came or went. It took 5 minutes. No one came or went while we were there either. Very poor customer service and they shouldn't make you wait so long. They do call and text afterwards to offer assistance. If only they paid more attention and care on the front end.

First, it took 5 days, yes FIVE DAYS, after CSofMN had the deceased's body before we could even meet with the funeral director to get things started. During that meeting, we learned that they didn't even have the deceased's information loaded into their database despite my parent having provided all of that information years earlier. So we had to get that done before we learned that it was going to take 2 weeks, yes TWO WEEKS, for us to get the cremains. WTF??! Then when we went to pick up the cremains, we were to receive a flag as my parent was a veteran. When they brought us the cremains at their facility, they literally handed us the flag haphazardly wadded up. How disrespectful!! Finally, we had ordered the death certificates through them. It took over a month, yes a MONTH, after we had picked up the cremains for the certificates to arrive only after we made a call to them. We learned that they had been sitting in the out box for nearly 2 weeks, yes TWO WEEKS. The entire experience was awful during a very difficult time. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

My mom passed at about 1:15 on a Sunday, and the chapel had someone to pick her up by about 3:30. It was comforting to know that we were cared for almost immediately! Two days later we met with Scott, who listened to our every desire for mom's funeral, which was held at the Edina chapel. From picking the casket to suggesting flowers, and finding a priest, all of the people at Washburn-McReavy made everything clear and easy to follow. Mom was 91, and definitely had aged, but the makeup and hair was amazing! We thought for sure it would be a closed casket!! But she looked so good we left it open! Scott found the overwhelming amount of tables and easels we needed for presentation. The funeral went smoothly, and the burial even smoother! When we pulled up to Ft. Snelling... the traffic coordinator knew Scott and helped us immensely! It was as perfect as a funeral can get! Everything was handled and coordinated without worries! Soon after, I spoke with my family about next steps, and my brother found Huber Funeral Homes. Of all the places he called, Chad, the program director there, picked up immediately. He said he could meet with us the morning of Labor day (the next day) to review booking a date, pricing, and answer any questions. We had the meeting around 10 am, and he professionally arrived early in a suit. He gave us the information, and we felt comfortable enough to go with him. He also gave us a folder with all the information not only about the funeral, but also about what to do after one loses someone. I appreciated that. The day before the funeral, Huber Funeral Homes coordinated with the hospital (where my father passed), embalmed him, and transported him to their location. We had to think of so much that day; I'm glad they took care of everything. The day and a half I had to organize the funeral, I worked with Chat to have a program printed, and he gave me so much flexibility in getting those materials to him. When I arrived, they already had my father, flowers, and everything else setup. They accommodated us and our request, for a Buddhist funeral, too. After the ceremony and reception, they coordinated a funeral procession to Lakewood Cemetery where they cremated my father. They hired law enforcement to literally stop traffic, for us, as we traveled from Eden Prairie to Minneapolis. I hate the fact I'm writing a review about a Funeral Home, but Huber is a business, with locals working there, too. And they did such a good job that when an awful event like the loss of a loved-one occurs, trust Huber Funeral Homes to help make the worst time in your life a little bit easier.

Gill Bros. handled the arrangements for my grandfather, great-aunties and my father and we had no complaints, other than the prices. However, we would never return at this point. I suppose since they have our money already, we mean nothing to them now.

But on reviewing the price a week later, they charged about 70% more than competitors in the Twin Cities. I didn't compare prices on the day of death. It was a mistake. Now I am in dispute with Gill Brothers on the price. I have contacted the MN AG's office and the MN Dept of Health Mortuary Science Section with a complaint. A reasonable person might conclude that Gill Brothers took advantage of my grief when I signed the contract. I would agree with such a reasonable person.

Its weird rating a cemetery but here I go!…read more My grandma is buried here she passed back in the 90's I believe I was like 5 or 6 so I don't remember the whole burial process so I wont write about that We have never experience anything bad about the place no damage to property anything like that! They keep the place nice and clean! The only thing that seems a lil weird is that they never shut there gates like there open 24/7 but recently I have droven by other cemeteries at like 2 am and gates are still open so I don't know if its a thing now Bachmans is right across the street from this place so its very nice to have that there Its a very peaceful place never experienced anything negative
