Really handy multi storey car park just off the Dublin Road. £2.50 for 1 hour. £5 for two hours. Open until midnight. Pay on foot at machine. When we visited both machines were only accepting correct change. read more

St Anne's Square Car Park

This means it's safe, secure and has all the car park mod cons such as credit card payment system and secure access. As far as car parks go this one is pretty good. The spaces are larger than most so you won't have to worry about getting your car bumped. It is also very centrally located. Part of the St Annes Square complex which houses some great restaurants and of course The Mac. If you're attending a gig or a show at the Mac or The Black Box then this is probably your most convenient car park. At £1.40 an hour it is not the cheapest but also not the most expensive in the area. One thing to note about this car park is that it is open 24/7 as it's a residents car park. They also only charge £.50 as an evening rate and that lets you park from 6pm - midnight.

Ok I'm being irritatingly cynical and pedantic but describing the ins and outs of a car park is a bit like trying to write a thesis on polishing your coffee table - you're going to run out of things to say. After that little preamble I will say that this is a long running underground car park which has served my folks well when they've been parking in the city. Although not cheap it's considerably cheaper than the nearby Victoria Square park where only those wearing Breitling watches with their accompanying Bentleys can afford to stay.

Its right above the bus station and five minutes walk from victoria square. Its usually not as busy as the other car parks in the city centre and it's worth remembering when there's big events on as getting a space elsewhere is hard.

The Hi Park might not be too well known in Belfast but it is on the site of the old Inn Shops opposite the entrance of Waring Street. I parked here whilst setting up my event at Alley Cat and that gives an idea of just how central this car park is. The tariff is pretty cheap too, it cost me £7 to park from 5pm - 10:30pm (The car park closes at 11pm on weeknights and is well manned by security guards.) On entrance you're given a wee card and have to feed this card in to the machines on your return. Luckily these machines accept credit card and coins so you won't be left stranded.

Parking is at a premium but…read morethis newly opened wee pay and display car park beside Cast and Crew restaurant may save you a few quid and leave you right next to where you want to be. The car park is, as mentioned, pay and display but there's also a function to pay by text or on an app you can download. Price wise it's £1.50 for up to an hour and then a £1 an hour thereafter. The good thing is it's a 24 hour car park. Word of warning though, don't think that just because it's late night or early morning you won't have to pay - The Belfast harbour police will enforce car parking 24/7. This car park is a one minute walk from Titanic Belfast, a stones throw from H&W and a short 5 minute stroll from the SSE Arena. It's a wee bit of a hidden one too so if you're going to a popular gig give the SSE Arena car park a miss and go up to this one. Not only will you save a few quid but you'll also be able to get out of it a bit quicker.

With nearly 500 spaces it's likely that there will be a space with your name on it. With Christmas chaos on the horizon I would recommend that you park here especially if you've planned to do your shopping on a weekend. It's only £5.20 all day Saturday and Sunday and they accept credit cards - so don't worry about not having the right change. On a Sunday it opens at 10am - don't do what I did and turn up too early and have to wait for it to open.

It is pretty convenient, as the exit can lead you on to either Chichester Street or May Street. The opening times are good too, opening pretty late on week days, if you are working late or on a night out. One thing to note is this car park is charged so if you are making a journey make sure you have money to pay for parking. This is not a free service. Here's a wee insider tip, this car park only charges Monday to Saturday between 7:30am and 6:30pm so it's free in the evenings - If you're going for a meal in the City this would be an ideal place to park - it's in walking distance across Albert Bridge from most Belfast eateries. Also you might consider this car park if you're attending anything at the SSE, it'll be less crammed than the SSE Car Park and won't charge for evening events - don't say I'm not good to you!

As mentioned in previous reviews parking in Belfast is at a premium but don't worry there's plenty of multi story lots about that are more than willing to sap your cash. This City Parks at the back of Castlecourt shopping centre is pretty centrally located. Walking distance to the City Centre, close to Great Victoria Street and also right next to the Ibis Hotel. There's two features about this car park that set it apart from other in the city. The first one is that it's secure - all the pedestrian doors are located and access to the building can only be gained by swiping your parking ticket. Awful if you've lost your ticket but great if you get tetchy about the safety of your car. Secondly the spaces are larger than most other car parks - you don't have to be a contortionist to squeeze out of your car here! Now to the negative side - it's not cheap! 2 hours parking cost us £6 on Wednesday evening which I feel is extortionate. Once I actually got my car locked in here as an event ran later than schedule and I was stung over £25! So it's up to you, if you want to pay for security and larger spaces park here - if you're not bothered go across the road to Castlecourt car park where it's all day parking for £4.30. The choice is yours...
