This company is absolutely AWFUL! Save your self time and go somewhere else. I have tried multiple times to contact them, I am an AGENT and I have left numerous messages no call back. I have tried to transfer the contract when there was no business written, they do not sign a release and they hold you. I did write business back in September and here it is NOVEMBER and I still have not been paid the commission, I have sent letters, I have contacted the contracting department, the commission department, I have called and left multiple messages and I have heard NOTHING! This company operates below the 1 star, this is the worst company I have worked for and the lack of communication. Why 1 star? Because I had the worst experience with a salesman of my life. --- --- --- Strap in, this one's a doozie. I moved into my house back in May, and filled out one of those Mortgage Protection Insurance forms because I was curious about it. The girl who called me was incredibly pushy and rude, so I just told her I wasn't interested. A few months later, I got another form in the mail, and figured I would give it another try. Friday evening (9/5) I get a call from "Junior," a salesman with NAA. I'm busy working an event, so I let him know that he will have to call me back next week. We set-up a time for a call on Tuesday at 1:30pm. Tuesday at 1:30 rolls around, and I'm pretty busy (working from home in my room) and suddenly I hear a knock at my door. My roommate answers it, and it happens to be Junior from NAA, who walks into my house uninvited. The stench of salesman is palpable, as he's overtly friendly, smiley, and acting very interested in my life through a series of random questions. Meanwhile, I am mentioning, "ummm... I thought this was supposed to be a phone meeting," while expressing bewilderment on my face as this guy has just showed up to my house, without an invitation. He then continues his series of "doing stuff without the offer being given," as he helps himself to sitting down at my kitchen table. I let him know that I am incredibly busy, and AGAIN, remind him that this was supposed to be a phone call. He's all smiles as he blows past my concern and changes the subject. Shocker. He says that he can come back later if now is not a good time, but in my head, I'd rather get it over with at this point so I'm not surprised with another random visit. As I finally let my guard down 5% and sit down, he asks me if I can get him some water. Alllllriiiiiight... kind of an odd request given the circumstances, but we will find out later why he asked for it. While I'm getting his water, he INSISTS I play a guessing game to try to figure out his age. I could not possibly care less about how old he is, but he won't stop asking me to guess a number. Eventually he tells me "I'm 20, man!" Wonderful. So we finally get down to him throwing some numbers my way, and it feels like a legitimate meeting. He runs some numbers and comes up with a figure of $62 that will cover paying off my mortgage and leaving my house to my parents if I were to die. Ok... cool. I ask for 48 hours to think about it, and make some calls to talk with people before I make a decision. This was not good enough. Over the next ten minutes, I received the following questions: "What are you going to think about in the next ten minutes that you haven't thought about already for months?" "Can you tell me what's bad about the scenario of you buying this?" "What are you going to talk to your Mom about?" So we play a game of verbal tennis for a bit... as we is acting like he will be shot if he leaves my house without closing this sale. He's very desperate and after giving me the price initially, he even whipped out his laptop in hopes I would be signing my life away in an instant. After the third of fourth go-around of "sign up for this today" --- "no, I'm going to think about it for a couple days," he was out of ammo. He took the world's longest drink ever from the cup of water I gave him. He was obviously stalling for time to think about an answer. I guess a "sales tactic" he was taught? It was by far, the world-record for the most obnoxious, awkward sip of water in the history of our Earth, followed by some over-the-top lip licking. I wish I could translate the awkwardness over text... because boy was it something. Then he says to me... "Talk to me, man to man, what's going on here? Talk to me like I'm your brother" Now I'm getting irritated. I say, "You show up to my house when this was supposed to be over the phone..." He interrupts, "Brett... can we just get over the phone thing already?" What? What is that? You show up to my home and walk in to sell me something. That was 13 minutes ago. You want me to just blow past that? Who taught you your sales tactics, and have you ever made a sale in your life by acting like this? So I say, "the whole thing is off-putting, and feels very sales-y. I told you many times that I am going to sit on this for two days, and I will call you no matter what my decision is. Now we're done here. So I stand up, and walk to the front door, open it, and wait outside for him. He slumps his shoulders, lets out a big shy, shakes his head, and slowly walks outside. I extend my hand to shake (for reasons unknown) and he sticks his hand out to my mind, and just kind of flings it away, and says "bye." Just pure insanity. It was like something out of the twilight zone. The funny thing is that he actually had the nerve to call me about a month later to say he could actually offer me free coverage. Used to work there myself. They simply push over priced simplified issue term policies guised as "mortgage protection" or "mortgage payment protection" plans. Term products from CFG, Foresters, and MOO that are pricey. They have decent rates with companies like Transamerica and Phoenix but they don't even teach their agents how to write these products. They have a laughable MLM style comp schedule for agents, most people leave after a few months for a real IMO. Brilliant business model, but it screws every agent over in the process of lining AA's pockets. They worship Albright like some kind of god, it creeped me out. If they were legit, "scam" wouldn't be the first suggested search term when you type "Andy Albright into Google. He's an ex-Amway guy, so that should tell you all you need to know. I moved to a real IMO and I make a good living now, avoid NAA at all costs. read more

Sometimes marketing companies get a bad rap due to rogue contractors. These folks usually represent the exception, not the rule; but the most don't take to the Internet as readily to post raving reviews about their recent life insurance purchases. God bless the Internet. I will also mention that the leaders & headquarters staff I've met in Burlington, NC are top notch. They control the operational aspects of the NAA business. It is clearly a young group with similar corporate training to a Chik-Fil-A or Google. As far as their direct sales insurance practices go, they are reportedly the leading marketing organization for Mutual of Omaha and the Fraternal Order of Foresters, among others. They are endorsed directly or indirectly by the NC commissioner of insurance, North Carolina State University, and actively licensed to operate in all 50 States. read more

NAA....worked hard and spent ALOT of money there at the beginning of my insurance career. They tell you have have great leads (they aren't). They basically sell simplified issue term life insurance and take most of the commission. Ex with NAA I got 45% for one product MOO. I quit got my own contract and now get 125% for the exact same product. PLEASE LISTEN: THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE. They preach all these big dreams and take your money. The NAA is an organization that cares about it's people and the people they serve. As another user noted, their are bad eggs sometimes. Insurance Agents/Brokers are licensed, this is not a trivial task and full FBI background check is run typically before the state will issue a license. The insurance rates are NOT set by the Agents or NAA. The rates are set by each of the 14+ A rated carriers the Agents are contracted with. Each agent is contracted directly with the insurance carriers. The policies they propose may not fit your budget or your needs, that is the agents fault. Agents are taught from the very beginning to ask questions to determine what someone needs. An agent has an entire list of questions designed around ensuring they are finding the best solution for the family. We would all like to think that everyone is amazing at their job, but sometimes the experience says otherwise. I've personally bought a policy through an NAA agent. It was not a bad experience and understanding the product I bought and what it means for my family means I'm getting what I expected and what I feel my family needs. read more

I started in the insurance business in 1995 with a captive company. I have seen a lot of organizations over the years but these folks are genuinely interested in helping the client find the right policy for the right price. They encourage and train their people to do the right thing for clients and new agents. Sometimes what is said behind closed doors is different from the public face that is put on for the world. I am a happily appointed agent with them because their public and private face is the same. I bought a policy for my own family that was affordable and with a highly respected carrier. If they were not a company of integrity for their clients or agents I would been gone in a heartbeat. There will always be rogue agents because as a people business sometimes people present themselves as better than they are. However the leadership from the top is ethical, honest, and helpful. Simply put I trust these folks to take care of my family as a customer and as an agent. read more

I've received multiple scam mailings from this company which is also know as "Superior Performers, Inc" They are trying to take advantage of new home buyers and newly weds by adding them to a "leads" list for insurance agents who can't get business otherwise. I was first introduced to the Alliance back in 2008, I thought it was a good concept but did not have time to put into doing something new. Fast forward and I have been with the Alliance for going on 5 years and I honestly say this is about as good as you are going to get in insurance. What should you expect? 1. Community- the people are honestly dedicated to helping you succeed. 2. Relationships- Crazy good relationships with the Carrier upper level management (I got denied a contract with a carrier that was basically reversed with a phone call). 3. Training- The Alliance trains literally "All The Time." People that fit this culture are "selfless" not "selfish." If you don't like working with people and have a genuine desire to help others succeed and not just yourself than this is not the place for you. Insurance is highly regulated which is no secret you can never compare apples with apples in this industry the products are too different. I have no plans of leaving and I believe that if the person reading this can relate to what I am saying, you need to join me so that we can have fun, make money, and make a difference together. read more

I bought a house, and received a letter that made it sound like my mortgage company was insisting that I get "mortgage protection insurance." I sent in one response card, and ended up getting calls from a number of sales people - nine, as of yesterday - all of whom followed the same script: you asked for the information, so you are bothering me, and you better therefore buy this overpriced insurance. All of them said that they were going to "drop off" the information that "you asked for," however, "dropping off" became a long, very high-pressure sales presentation, and they would not leave until I became forceful. It is obvious that all of these people are well-meaning, however, they have been "trained" by the same group, and it seems clear to me that ethics are not a high priority. This is essentially expensive life insurance, and the higher cost is justified (or at least they try and justify it) by claiming that it "guarantees your mortgage." When you buy a house, and get a letter that states "Attention (your name); complete and return," I suggest filing it in the garbage. read more

I met with an agent from National Agents Alliance about life insurance. Going in, my concerns were that I wouldn't be able to afford coverage or that I'd be pushed into something I didn't need. Turns out, those concerns weren't a problem at all. She was very nice over the phone and made an appointment to see me the next day. She came over to my apartment and went through a presentation booklet thing describing the company, who she was, and what the life insurance was all about. I had a lot of questions about life insurance, since I really didn't know much about it and the forms were in a lingo I didn't understand. She walked me through everything and answered all of my questions. I was happy with how quickly she made the appointment and how patient she was with all of my questions. In the end, I got a small policy just to cover my debt and a few other things for a decent price. I was happy to find out I didn't need a medical exam either. It was an easy process and I'd recommend them for anyone who is looking for life insurance. read more
