The booking offices of the various ferry companies of course are here, but it is very small and not much else. Also, no wifi so you will have to bring your own or find another way to entertain yourself. The staff are friendly and helpful, and for the most part the place is clean, although it looks very dated. My advice, plan accordingly so you don't end up having to spend more time here than you need as there is not much to do and even less to buy if you find yourself wanting more than a packet of crisps.

Very well organized and despite our late arrival, she had dinner for us. Breakfast was excellent. The rooms overlooked a scenic river and several historic buildings. We took a short hike to the river and discovered an old cemetery, Abbey (in ruins) and some history about a General instrumental in the Catholic reformation. Overall we'd all recommend this B&B because of the warmth, comfort and good food.

As well as I came back for a few nights at the end of my trip in Ireland. Rooms are lovely and huge and well appointed. Restaurant is beyond delicious and the Irish breakfast buffet is bountiful, decadent And delicious. The staff throughout the hotel and restaurant make you feel pampered and important. Also everyone is very informative with information on things to do in the general area and day trips. Countryside is lovely and charming and a true castle is across the way ..

We were staying nearby Borris and needed to find somewhere to watch Ireland play in the Six Nations. Cue the Step House. As we were stragglers in terms of arriving in time, we still managed to find some good seats. There was a good crowd and a great atmosphere here for the rugby. A bit of banter with one of the barmen during the game paid off post match when he sorted us out with a table for some dinner. Then he waited on us really fantastically. Really attentive. And the food was great too.

The actors represented a first class passenger and steerage passenger with her baby, talking to us in the middle of steerage quarters. They were wonderful! After Adam and the actors, we toured the quarantine area and quarters for first class passengers. We also posed by the bell and steering wheel. The section after the tour was a revelation of Irish who immigrated to United States - Maureen O'Hara, Walt Disney, JFK's great grandfather, and so many others. The gift shop had reasonably priced souvenirs. We bought shirts, necklaces, chocolate and a polo shirt for under $74. Leaving the ship area, we admired the emigrant flame, lit from the eternal flame at JFKs' sure in DC.

The facilities are clean, up to date, everything one would need. We also ate in the dining room and in the Ballast Bar. Gordon in the Ballast Bar was wonderful as was the barman, whose name I failed to get. But a special thank you goes to Kate at the hotel Reception Desk. The staff are friendly and attentive, and if you are a local you are bound to meet someone in here you know. I visited the bar and grill on a Friday afternoon for lunch which was filling up quickly at 1pm. The menu is varied - Carvery options, fresh fish, burgers, wraps, sandwiches the list goes on! Each time I have eaten here I have found the food to be filing and tasty with food orders arriving in good time. They also have a restaurant - Oyster Lane restaurant which provides a luxurious dining experience. The hotel overlooks the marina and they have their own car park at the rear which is free of charge as long as you are a paying customer :-) So if you are looking for quality fresh food then look no further!

A wonderful guesthouse in the County Carlow countryside…read more The host, Bobbie, is a wonderful lady who provides a fantastic service. The house is decorated very tastefully. I'm sure it has not changed very much over the years, but it's kept extremely well and with a lot of love, I'm sure. Our bedroom, the blue room, was beautiful, very comfortable and had two great views. The study and dining room both had welcoming fires in the evening. The dining room even had one in the morning while you enjoyed breakfast. The breakfasts were probably the best I've had in an Irish guesthouse. A huge array of tasty fruit, including fresh raspberries from the garden. Homemade bread, freshly squeezed orange juice and excellent coffee. A full Irish if you wanted it or a smaller selection of items from said full Irish. Bobbie ensured you were catered for. We opted for the five course meal in the evening on the day we arrived. It was wonderful. We shared the dining table with another couple, who were also celebrating their wedding anniversary. They were regulars of Lorum, that's how much they love Lorum Old Rectory. A testament to Bobbie and the service she provides. I look forward to returning to Lorum. And recommending it to anyone who will listen to me.

The buses are always clean. The drivers are great. If you want to get to the city centre early for work and THEN get an proper express back to Wexford, you want Wexford Bus. I'm sure there's knuckle draggers in Enniscorthy, Ferns and (sweet Jesus) Gorey that need transportation to their crack dens or smack houses. Let those skanked up boobas go bus eireann.
