5-stars. 10 stars, if it were possible!…read more Kid approved. Mom approved. Dad approved. Extended family approved. Nextdoor neighborhood (Chamblee & Brookhaven) approved!! As you read from the intro, she is approved by everyone. If I were to stop here, I wouldn't do her (but mainly my statement above) justice. Let me try and give you perspective.... Background: I actually know a handful of people/friends who are photographers. I definitely try to support friends businesses and for various opportunities have reached out! And of course everyone has friends who are pursuing photography or networks with photographers that "everyone" (or a lot of people use). Same for me. My husband and I decided that for our second sons 1 year photos (July 2015), we would like to reach out to our local community and select someone local to support our neighborhood. In an effort to find someone local, my husband posted in the Nextdoor neighborhood forums to ask for local photographers. Of course everyone chimes in with a friend to support friends' businesses... And we had TONS (okay, I exaggerate but about 15-20 or so) responses. While we received a lot of responses the overwhelming majority of neighbors had recommended this particular business. It was an overwhelming response for her. In our curiosity, we reached out for a very last minute request. We were okay if she wasn't available since we knew it was short notice (and we would have gone back to her if she wasn't able to just because the response and support was THAT impressive!). Regardless, she obliged and so our communications began. [All this to say... She's NEXTDOOR approved. Note: in the Nextdoor neighborhood forums, anytime someone asks for a photographer, this is the one resounding business supported by many for all the posts.] COMMUNICATIONS: She is both professional, personable and responsive. While some people may take days to respond, I found that her usual response time was probably 1-2 days max? And many times it was probably within 24 hours max. She will typically send out a survey to understand what you're lookin for specifically after you have agreed to a shooting date. You can have her come to a location of your choice or you can ask her for suggestions if you have no idea. HER: She's not your young 20 something photographer. She's in her late 30's or early 40's and your very cool and fun photographer. I learned she has an interesting background as she was born in another country and has lived all around before settling in Georgia. She is very passionate about photography. Even after years and years of shooting, it is evident her joy and gladness is still in the shooting; its evident that she's not jaded by the people, the work, etc. that comes with the job. Photography is one of those businesses that one can easily confuse with a hobby. EQUIPMENT: I'm pretty sure she has a boatload but she brings lenses to cater to the event she's shooting. One thing I really so appreciate about her is that she will bring her HUGE flash on photo shoots. Why do I mention this? I've used her twice now at two different locations: one of the locations was Piedmont Park where there were several other photographers and wedding or engagement shoots going on. We were usually the only ones walking around where the photographer was lugging loads of equipment - mainly the flash. I admit that I was secretly proud to walk with and next to her as others watched us but probably mainly her equipment. Depending on the type of shoot, she will also come prepared with reflectors, toys for infants, treats for toddlers, etc. for an infant or child shoot, she will also come prepared with... Who knows what?! KID APPROVED. I have a 1 year old and 3 year old boy. While she likes the posed shots, the reason the kids love her is because whatever they wanna do is cool with her. In fact, that's what she wants for them. What do the kids think? That's great!!! I can be me (whatever that may mean to your child). To me as a mom, that's not cool for my child. I want them to smile when she's shooting. Looking at the camera. I did start yelling at my older son for the first shoot and she had to remind me it's okay cause she wants to get them in their element - playing and letting kids be kids. There aren't too many photos of the candids in these pictures but her candids are excellent! She captures the emotions of people. MOM Approved. She's good with kids. She has kids or teenage kids of her own so she "gets it." She brings toys and different items to grab the child's attention. DAD APPROVED. The price is right. Enough said. Hope this provides a good picture. Her photo options include school pictures, single or family photos, newborns, real estate photos. Definitely check her out!
