HAPPY #ServiceStarShoutOut DAY, Y'ALL!…read more Listen, I have really bad luck with tires. I am always running over a nail or something else that requires a patch or sometimes (unfortunately), a whole new tire. It's a curse. We really love a local spot that's close to our house, but found ourselves in a real pickle the Friday before the Fourth of July weekend. We had a tire losing air, and they couldn't get us in until Monday because they were so busy. That's when I gave Henry's a call. Charles was so nice on the phone, and didn't even flinch when I asked if they could look at it and make a potential repair by the end of the day. I went and dropped it off right away, and they were so great with communication; without a few hours, they had found the culprit, patched it, and gave me a call to come pick it up. The whole thing cost $25 - I guess that's pretty standard for a patch, but it's definitely the least amount of money I've ever spent on a car repair. We will absolutely be using Henry's in the future and I'm so grateful for their professionalism and how quick they got us take care of!

Phil finishes helping first guy and then immediately asks second guy how he can help him. I let him finish helping second guy and when he asks me how he can help me I'm in complete disbelief. I asked him why he helped him before me and his response was "because he used to be the owner". I then tell him that I'm not sure if I want to give them my business and he says "fine you can leave, I don't have to help you". We exchanged a few more words and I left but that level of blatant racism was completely distasteful and I'll never return there. Hope this helps someone else that's thinking about giving this establishment their hard earned money.

The owner Jim was upfront and honest about everything and the pricing was fair. He is passionate about the business and took the time to give me a tour of the shop and show me his project car. It is a bit of a drive from STL but if you need work done on a performance car, particularly Corvettes, GTOs, V's, etc., give this place a shot.

Tldr; Dealer tried to screw me over, Precision actually cost themselves money to get my car fixed…read moreright. My 2018 Camry was having intermittent electrical issues, so I took it to Lou Fusz, where I had purchased it. A couple hundred dollars worth of "diagnostic work" lead them to recommend $2000 worth of replacement parts, fluids and labor, none of which addressed any electrical issues. After that nightmare, I called Precision Import Auto, and, over the phone, they not only had a theory for what was going wrong, they actually recommended that I take my car somewhere else because they didn't have the equipment to deal with that specific part, rather than have me come in and charge me for diagnostics when they knew there was a good chance they wouldn't be able to fix it.

I have taken both my car and my wife's car to Jim at Royal Auto for a couple of years now. Located…read morenorth of St. Louis University, just behind the Fox Theater, Royal serves as a parking lot for both the school and entertainment venues. It is also an auto repair shop that's been going since the 80's. Jim will diagnose what is wrong with your car, without trying to sell you a thousand other things. He will do whatever he needs to in order to fix it to your satisfaction. Don't want to pay for a new part? He'll find you a comparable one at an area junkyard. His labor prices are the lowest I have seen in the area. The shop does not do safety and emission inspections though. You have to go elsewhere for this. The staff can be a bit gruff at times, however, the service and and thoroughness of work more than make up for it. I highly recommend Royal Auto to anyone in need of auto repairs in St. Louis.

Best Service Station in South City!…read more When it comes to auto service, I'm all about having a guy. I don't particularly like going to the big box stores for something because it always ends with a big bill and me yelling at strangers. I had a guy in South City, but he's been pretty flaky lately. Therefore, I looked into Advanced Auto Service on Gravois. Mike Silva is a standup dude. A friend suggested that I talk to him about my next oil change, which I desperately needed, and the rest of pretty much history. He is by far the friendliest mechanic that I've ever met. I guess that doesn't say much! Haha. However, he and his wife have been very friendly and helpful. While big box stores will put the fear of God in you, Mike does keep tabs on routine maintenance and makes suggestions for improving the life of your car. He also understands when someone is on a budget. He helped my friend locate a used hood because she had damaged her old one in an accident. Altogether, he is very easy to work with, and I highly recommend his services to anyone in the South City/Bevo area.

OK-customer service, but then annoying to deal with when you spend $1600 on a repair but your car…read moreis still unusable because "it wasn't leaking when in shop." It's fine though! I got $56 back! :-) Out of shop my car worked for one day. Then stalled on me twice while driving. I brought it back and it was another $1200 maybe $900? To fix the problem. I would have just bought a new car if the repairs were more than $2000 initially. I did not have the financial capability to accommodate any price over $2000. I tried to make the $1600 work though because my car is very useful for my line of work. After pulling some strings I was able to cough up the money. Mind you, to repair the car any further it was at least $600-900 more because the coolant can was damaged. But I wish I knew this prior to driving it. Again, it didn't work after a full day of use. But all fluids were checked. I couldn't pay for this again nor could I go without a car for much longer. I ended up bringing the car to car max and trading it in. Again a car is very useful in my line of work so I needed it ASAP. I didn't have a car for about three days while it was in their shop and it really set me back. I called initially to ask for compensation considering how much money I had dropped on the repair. Mike had told me he could tow the car to the shop and try and fix the problem. All I would pay for was the part. The part USED, was apparently $600. I would not pay that money on a 2007 Toyota Prius. Nor would I have the capability to be without a car again. I declined. I asked for a $400 refund Mike said he would call back, never did. Two weeks pass and I drove there again asking to speak to the owner, Mike. He was at lunch. I came back again two hours later, still at lunch. His employee relayed the information and Mike called me back that night right after they closed. (I'm glad they're busy!) :-) Mike was short and demeaning, understandable. I look young and oblivious to the world. It's easy to act like I'm the person in the wrong. And apologized for taking so long to get back to me. He mentioned his lawyer would allow for a good faith agreement. Sure. They gave me the option to either get their auto repair service maintenance thing for a year OR $56 for the initial diagnosis. I'm not planning on living in STL for much longer so I opted for the $56. I understand the work put into my car but I expected some compensation. Not $56 worth of compensation, but it's okay! It's some money back. All in all, I would not recommend them to anyone. I always believed that a diagnosis meant FULL diagnosis. But Mike told me countless of times, "I can't predict the future." Because I guess you're supposed to be able to predict the future rather than addressing the problem before it surfaced in the future. Maybe I was just one of the unlucky ones but you're free to give them a try. I ended up getting a new car, one star for a great oil change though!
