My husband and I started going to see Nanette in our second year of marriage. I really wish we went before we got married, she could have saved us from so much arguing and set us up for real life. I specifically wanted to find a woman therapist because I was uncomfortable talking about intimacy and sex with a male therapist. She's completely changed my outlook and was able to be very unbiased for both of us. She's also got a gift that I can't really describe, but it's a way of hearing you even when your partner is doing most of the talking. I was able to hear him and not feel the need to defend myself over time, because she always got it right and looked out for both of us equally. Today was our last day after almost a year and she was great about our decision to exit and come back if needed. I recall being apprehensive about having to pay for a first session and an exit session when we originally started. I was so apprehensive that she let us start with an assessment and decide in the next session if we were in or out. It is a well intended policy to make sure you come and go in a good head space. Nothing more. If you are on the fence about going just do it! We've seen several marriage counselors over the last 15 years and this was definitely the least helpful. She couldn't remember our names even after multiple visits and kept asking us which of her various exercises we had completed in earlier visits because she couldn't remember (and apparently didn't document). IF I COULD RATE A "0" WE WOULD because we received no help from this therapist. She was very biased and unprofessional. She took more than $2500.00 from us initially telling us she knew exactly how to help our marriage/relationship, but week after week kept pitting us against each other. At one point she told my husband he should kick me out. Which neither of us wanted to do. She developed emotional feelings for my husband. At the close our session, she would not allow me into the meeting, met with him separately and tried to advise him to leave me. She cried while she told him these things. What therapist cries and becomes emotionally invested in their client??? Wow! One of my issues during counseling was that I lost trust in this therapist, after she would engage in arguments with me, curse in our sessions, and verbally attack me during sessions. I shut down and could no longer speak "openly" during sessions. I could tell something was off. So I stopped engaging with her during sessions. I guess you could say I became a "little difficult" for her to work with after her confrontational behavior. No trust, no engagement. Oddly, she and my husband became friends and would come to conclusions about me while I would just sit in the room, in session and listen to them. I would point out the multiple times that we were discussing topics previously brought up in previous weeks. She didn't like that and would not remember the topics. In the beginning, she couldn't remember our names, and my name especially. I understand why now. Every week we would leave her office, my husband would say he felt worse than when we walked into her office. PLEASE!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY and don't trust your marriage or family to this therapist. read more

Nanette Sebourn is an amazing therapist! My fiancé and I went to her for guidance about our relationship and how we could meet in the middle with our expectations of each other. She gave me great tools on how to express my feelings in a conversation to my fiancé. This brought us very close to each other as I have learned how to conversate my concerns when things pop up. She encouraged me to stop using THC and when I finally stopped my emotions became so much more controllable. Instead of running away from daily issues through a substance she taught me how to work through my emotions, see what these feelings are trying to teach me, and keep moving forward in life. Before Nanette I constantly lived in my head in a destructive thought pattern that brought anxiety and depression to myself. Honestly, I have been to quite a few therapists in my life and I have never experienced one as unprofessional as Nanette. I came in for individual therapy a while back, as I was going through some hardships, and it was a terrible experience and absolutely made things worse. Just a few examples I could think of off the top of my head: -Nanette would straight up take off her shoes, cozy up on her chair and EAT while I would be talking to her during my sessions. Definitely made me feel like I wasn't a priority nor that she was listening to me. -Nanette doesn't have the most pleasant vocabulary. She would cuss and curse multiple times through the session which was very unnecessary. I'm not one to usually mind cussing, but it added no substance to our discussions and just gave me a bad vibe about her as a professional. But the last straw was during one session she referred to my mom, and I quote, as "SHITTY". I'm sorry, but what professional says that to you? I wasn't even saying anything remotely bad about my mom and she says "well did you ever think that maybe your mom is a SHITTY mom because.." Like whoa, could have put it a little differently from that.. she then continued to advise me to spend less time with my mother and try to somewhat cut her out of my life.. which is strange to me because me and my mother have a wonderful relationship? It confused me. - Nanette could never remember my name. A couple times I came in the first thing she would say is "okay.. soo what is your name again?" How is that supposed to make me feel? I'm sorry but as a therapist, you should know my name, especially after a couple sessions, and not make me feel just like another random person your collecting money from. Like I said these are just a few examples. I personally understand the whole termination session process, which some obviously have had issues with, and she was clear about it. I had no issues with that. But when it comes to her, as a therapist, she is the worst I have ever been to and I would suggest anyone considering her to stay away. I now have an amazing therapist who is awesome and shows the professionalism you would expect and it makes me regret, looking back, that I spent any money for Nanette's services. read more

I was a bit nervous about going in for therapy. I didn't feel like my last therapist really comprehended the situation I was in but Nanette off the bat calmed those worries. She talked with my husband and I with the compassion of a friend but with the advise of a wise and knowledgeable professional. She is different in the sense that we could have a natural conversation, not like the generic and scripted ones I had in the past with other therapits. Nanette made me realize what I didn't think anyone could make me realize, I was in the wrong in many situations where I truly felt like I was right. I would recommend her to anyone looking for an honest, accommodating, and truly helpful and awesome therapist. The only catch is you can't be an asshole and disregard her policies and cancel appointments last minute. But a few sessions with her would probably correct that apparent lack of communication one might suffer from:) Kyle is also always super friendly and would message us to remind us of our appointment. DO NOT GO TO THIS THERAPIST!!! She is dishonest and cheats you out of your money. She makes you give her 2 credit cards and makes you sign paper work stating that she can charge you $150.00 if you don't go to a "final visit". Also charges $150.00 if you cancel within 24 hours. Really? She doesn't take most insurance. She doesn't have the systems to work with your insurance company so you have to file an insurance claim ever week!?? We went to her twice and paid the $300.00 she charges. Then I found out that my insurance would not reimburse so I called and explained that we could not afford to come anymore. She said, "I have to charge you another $300.00". "You have to have a final visit and you canceled within 24 hours". I explained that we couldn't afforded it and asked her to work with us. She said "rules are rules" "I could make an exception but I wont". Then charged my card $300.00. So we paid $600.00 for 2 visits. I will be reporting her to the better business bureau and will be contacting my attorney. Nanette is total crook. Beware!!!!! read more

Second rate outfit with paper sign on the door. Do not sign paperwork unless you rewrite it. It sets you up for a last session she does not even have to be there for yet you get charged. More expensive than most therapists and she has a good act, but when hypnotizing you never feel like your under and she almost forgets the part about pulling you out. Her son is the "office manager" and I have to admit they have a good act but do not follow through with anything. If you want to throw your money away she's the one for you. The only thing she cares about is the money. And realize she charges you $150.00 per hour for her to have someone to talk to. She also has a 24 hour cancellation policy with appointment reminders sent out the evening before so its already to late and you get charged. Or in my case they insist upon an exit session that you sign for and they charge your credit card immediately, then they were not in the office for the appointment even though I had confirmed I would be there and it was during there normal posted office hours. read more

Unprofessional and all about the money. First appointment, I was standing in the hallway waiting for the office to open. She showed up three minutes late, winded and disorganized. First thing she did was ask for a credit card. The next ten minutes with her was all about fees, fees and more fees. Don't believe her "free meet and greet" claim from her website. Decided not to return, so the "free" meeting ended up costing me over $400 in charges to the "just in case" credit card on file. Don't sign anything! Don't let them touch your credit card! I was very dissatisfied with the way I was treated by Nanette Sebourn and her office. She told me she does not accept or recommend EAP insurance, but she lists it as accepted on her Psychology Today profile. Her profile here suggests much more experience than the six years she has actually been licensed. Her fees are higher than most counselors in our area. Her payment and appointment policies are rigidly enforced. Counseling is supposed to be about helping people, not making as much off them as you can. read more
