I responded, "But the ER won't refill my Symbacort." She again repeated herself saying that she has nothing avail until Monday. This woman is RUDE beyond measure, not the first-time I've encountered her poor attitude and rude behavior. The office is dirty and the staff is flat out nasty. Boy do I miss Dr. Patel!! With it being a new patient meeting, I arrived the customary 10 minutes early to answer any questions or fill out any necessary paperwork. After a very short wait, I was seen by... someone. A male -- a nurse, perhaps? -- and they were fine. I never remember what the various blood pressure readings mean and he was friendly enough to explain the results for me. I was told the doctor was currently seeing another patient, but I was next. I wait and thumb through a TV Guide I brought in from the waiting room. I wait. I wait some more. At 1:38pm, after reading through all the previews of the new upcoming Fall shows on TV, I finally had to give because I was already going to be late returning to work. In a way, this review is not necessarily indicative of Dr Houlahan's knowledge or ability -- he could be the greatest doctor in the world -- but I will never know because leaving a patient waiting for nearly 40 minutes without having someone -- anyone -- check in with a status is unacceptable in my books. I've always had good luck at the Dreyer Medical Clinic until today, so this review is not a reflection on it (my wife, who sees a different doctor in the same office (Dr. Jennifer Crane) absolutely LOVES her!), so take it for what you will. I understand doctors get busy, but it is extremely disappointing and frustrating when you schedule an appointment -- one that will probably take 20 minutes -- weeks in advance and wait for twice as long as your appointment will probably take without being seen or checked up on. I'm warning anyone seeking a doctor to PLEASE DO NOT SEE Douglas G. Dorman, M.D. Let's start by saying, I was warned by his own Dreyer staff that "They do NOT like Dr. Dorman". That speaks Volumes if the staff doesn't like you! There's a serious problem because they deal with you all day. I was just warned to late. Dorman has dangerously put false medical information in my medical file that I now have to correct. It's not only false info it's slander/Libel. Example: Dr Dorman has my eating habits wrong, the dates of past things I've had done. My medication. He even puts in suggestions " that this May or may not have caused her health problem". Without asking me if it did, & who's he to say "it may or may not have" when he doesn't know what is wrong with me!! A Doctor cannot speculate without knowing exactly what is wrong with you! That's frightening to say the least! Dorman will write in your medical record, how your dressed. He will make rude notes about you in there, even if your polite. This was done on my 1st visit with him. I was dressed in heels, a blouse, suit pants and a suit jacket, and Dr. Dorman didn't put that in my record, he put something else. If Dorman doesn't understand something your saying or what you mean, instead of asking you about it like a normal person, Dr Dorman will write stupid stuff in your medical file like " patient said this and I don't know what that means". Duh ask! Just that right there shows me what kind of a doctor he is. And has a very dangerous behavior! When I saw Dorman the first time, he judged me just on the medication I was taking. I say " judge" because it was clear. My visit was 45 mins. of Dorman disrespecting my former doctor and making rude comments about my medication. Like I should be ashamed of myself for being sick. ( well without sick people you would be out of a job!). Dorman acted like I was stupid and asked me " how often I was in pain", when I answered it, he said " so that's how often you take the medication", I said " that's not what you asked". When I called him out on interrogating me, he acted stupid and said " he doesn't know what that word means". Seriously? You do know what it means! Everyone does! Dorman asked me a question I answered it but tried to trick question me. Guess what I'm far from stupid Dorman! When I saw Dorman a second time, all of a sudden Dorman was his words " happy with my medication, the same medication I was on before I saw Dorman, but never wrote that in my medical file! Dorman and I then had a plan in place for my health to move forward. When I had a problem with a medication and told Dorman about the side effects and that I can't move forward with my health and the plan we had in place, until the medication is changed. Dorman sent me an email saying " I need to refrain from lashing out"! Are you kidding me? Your my doctor , me telling you the plan has changed is not me " lashing out". Dorman also wanted to take on the role of changing my migraine medication. When I asked him, " Before you give me any medication can you please write down some ideas of what medication your thinking of giving me" so this way " I can research them and the side effects and then come into your office and discuss it". Dorman didn't want to " write " down what medication he would suggest but wanted me to come in to talk about it. ( why? So it's not on record). Dorman changed his mind all of a sudden and said " migraines is something a Neurologist deals with". Then why is Dorman ever discussing my migraines with me?! Dorman told me that "My former doctor gave me medication just to shut me up". really!!?? Seriously? WOW! Dorman LOVES to get the last word in & send threats . I'm seriously going to be speaking up about this to the proper people.
