Not a bad place. Decent pricing for NZ. Ordered a half chicken $14.00 made it a combo which was an additional $4 something. Hubby got a chicken sandwich. We both ordered it mild, probably could have ordered it hot. We got peri-peri chips and a real sugar Sprite in a glass bottle. The chicken could have been a little more char grilled but overall it was tasty and moist. The breast seemed small, almost like it was a portion of a breast instead of a whole breast. The sandwich was good, hubby demolished it. The peri peri chips were a little salty, but good and hot. Only issue were the coldness of the room, according to the sign the heaters were broken. There were also three birds flying around the room, pooping. There were also a lot of tables that needed to be wiped down and cleared. That didn't happen until after we had sat down and cleaned our own table. Besides the gentleman in the polo shirt who took our order, we tried saying thanks and have a nice day to one of the employees we passed. Had a Nandos craving on a recent trip, so popped in here since it was great to see this located in Rotorua! It was about 30 minutes to closing, and unfortunately could tell the staff were not happy that customers were entering the store. In fact, some customers after me left because of the staff pointing out that the kitchen would be closing soon. I decided to stay anyway, and went for the lemon herb chicken, and peri peri chips. I didn't end up waiting long for my order (maybe 10 minutes), and in the meantime I grabbed some of their sauce options for my table. The food was OK, but for ~$11 (NZD), I couldn't really complain too much about the food quality. The chips were definitely better than the chicken... The restaurant was clean, and there were some other customers already eating when I arrived, but not too many. Pity that the kitchen seemed rushed to get customers to leave the restaurant though, otherwise it may have been a different experience. read more

Nando's pretty much always delivers a safe, tasty meal. The Nando's in Rotorua satisfied us in every way. Clean, friendly fast service (we had two little ones with us so waiting a long time for food can be a struggle). We realized we underordered a bit when the food came out so a second chicken was promptly added and served, fresh and hot. The only wish was that the broccolini and hamouli sides might have been a bit more plentiful (maybe offer a family size side order?). Just came to have garlic pitta as usual food is always good but the way to attend the customer is literly disgusting. one main thing every business has some extra mask if someone doesn't bring so they can give them instead of giving a mask she start arguing nd actually dis respecting the customers even though nobody has wear their mask inside the venue but actually i don't know but it was terrible service I got today i don't want to say her name but they should know their etiquettes to speak with the customers. read more

Half of the staff members were not wearing masks. We have to wait for 10-15 minutes for someone to clean our table. The staff was not at all gentle and sounded so rude. the tomato was not good in the burger. The staff added the top part of tomato which is suppose to be discarded. read more

This is the worst example of a franchise I have ever experienced. We visited last night with a young family, and were very disappointed. Firstly at the counter they added a surcharge for visa, which I've never seen at a restaurant. After paying, they tell us that all 'chicken' is 20 minutes wait. I think in a semi fast food place they should tell you before you pay. The kids burger meals arrived first, and it was with Chilli sauce so hot the 7yr old couldn't take a 2nd bite. It was tasted and confirmed by an adult so we returned it. Counter staff agreed that mild is too hot for kids- so why did they put it on the kids meals? The meal was returned 1minute later, with the same bite marks still in it. They had simply scraped off some Chilli, and slathered it with BBQ. This really isn't good enough. The adult salad arrived, not dressed or any dressing available, just lettuce, capsicum, tomato... Boring. At all other nandos restaurants; tables have sauces and salt and pepper... Ours had none. I visited more than 10 other tables to find a sauce, and visited all tables to find the one salt available. This place needs to be corrected by the franchise ASAP. read more

Turned up about 6:30pm on Saturday. Waited for a seat. No one seemed to care we were waiting, so we left. 10 minutes later walking past the store we noticed more people just waiting with no one seating them. read more

We went for breakfast and the eggs, sausage and bacon were tasty, and the coffee was great. The service wasn't too friendly, but we were satisfied with our food. read more

Good food, warm - not the fastest service but we liked it - if your American it is good- so is the pig and whistle

The service was friendly, but the food was awful. I ordered a paella, which was nothing but yellow rice that was stir fried with chicken and frozen veggies. There were burnt bits from previous food that had been stir fried in the same pan numerous times, so I did not feel happy looking at the black specks. Worst of all, there was a long hair embedded in the food, so that gives you a clue about the hygiene. read more

Nice place. Mostly quiet. Went for coffee and hot chips with my partner. Great tasting chips but no extra salt available although they didnt really need any extra salt. By the time our coffees came we had finished our chips so a bit disappointed we had to wait awhile for our coffees but other than that pretty good service. read more

We were referred here by a friend. We are visiting Rotorua from the USA. We thought the food was amazing! I got the lemon herb chicken and my husband got the Espetada. We both had a side of potato salad. I thought the chicken was excellent. Moist and tender. I added a bit of the mild sauce. It was still a bit hot but I am a total wimp when it comes to spicy food. But it was a very good flavor. Not just heat. I even added a little to my potato salad. The service was friendly. We told her it was our first time there, she took the time to explain the menu and how things are prepared. We really enjoyed the food. We found it a bit pricey, but we have found most restaurants here a bit pricey. I would say overall, the price was good for the food. read more
