We asked Nancy to take photos of our family which includes our 1 year old and dog. Nancy was super flexible with scheduling- we were set on doing outdoor photos, and it rained every one of the multiple weekends we had tried to schedule. We eventually got together at the Lake Merritt botanical gardens, and Nancy was amazing. She quickly befriended our daughter and within an hour we were able to get a bunch of great shots! Nancy was super easy going and worked around whatever we needed (snack time, tantrum break, etc). She is also super communicative and when she delivers the photos, we went over the, together so we could make our final choices immediately. i had wanted to get a unique present for my hubby's birthday this year. this year marked our first as husband and wife, and i thought that deserved something special. so, i thought, and thought... but after nine years or so of being together, i was having trouble coming up with something new and exciting! it just so happened that connie c wrote a review of her boudoir photography session around the same time. i credit her with the light bulb that went on soon after, which promptly had me researching photographers in the area. i emailed and called a few different photographers, but nancy stood out very quickly. not only was she super excited to partake in my session/experiment, she also did a great job of calming my nerves because, quite frankly, this is not a very jill thing to do. the session itself, which took place in her adorable studio, turned out to be so much fun! for someone I barely knew at the time, she made me feel like we had been close friends for years! this was key, because it's hard to feel (and look) sexy, if you're feeling awkward! and what can i say? the pictures turned out wonderfully - classy, tasteful, and sexy (if i do say so myself!) nancy and i are now friends, and i am sure we will for a long time. we may have only had one session so far, but she will be among the first to receive a call for the many more momentous occasions to come! read more

Nancy Rothstein and her team captured laughter, loving glances, glasses filled with champagne and sunlight, action dance shots, and the positive vibes among all our friends and family...the actual essence of our wedding...on film. Incredible! We just got our online gallery a few days ago, and I can't stop looking at it. My married friends almost unanimously said: GET A GOOD PHOTOGRAPHER. I'm SO glad we did. In fact, my now-husband wanted to book her at our consult because we loved her work so much (so we did). I guess he knew about her right away and just went for it (hey, kinda like he did with me!). What a gift that is, to be able to return to the wonder of that day weeks--and even years--later. If I *could* go back in time, the only thing I'd do differently is find a way to invite even more people to celebrate with us---and buy even more photographs!! I had freaked out about having an event with so many people, but now I think: life is short, get together with the folks you care about, have a party, and take lots and LOTS of pictures. I needed a professional head shot done for a new business and found Nancy through Yelp. After working with her I can't recommend her highly enough! I have never had a professional photo shoot done and will admit to a level of discomfort with the idea. Boy did she make it easy. She started with a phone call to talk through the process and talk about wardrobe. She was super flexible in terms of scheduling and got me in very soon. If your looking for a photographer you should really meet Nancy, she's great! You only get married once and memories fade. I've worked with Nancy before so when the time came to pick a wedding photographer I didn't think twice. Nancy is fun and creative and her shots are just amazing. At the wedding she made sure to get all the shots I wanted and I love the shots of friends and family. I'm having trouble picking the shot I want for above the fireplace since there are so many beautiful ones. My Wedding and reception were in the same location which means I had a lot less time for photos and the guests really noticed when we weren't there. I had planned an hour here and an hour there for photos. Nancy kept us on time and got us back to the party on time or early. The ordering site is easy to use and it's password protected! My Family is all over the US and it was great to be able to talk about the photos with my Mom the day they went on-line. The best part is all the photos of things I missed during the wedding reception. This is a long overdue review for our wedding photographer Nancy Rothstein who shot our wedding at the Ranch Golf Club in March, 2010. We interviewed at least 4-5 photographers before we decided to hire Nancy, mainly because her of professionalism, personality, and experience in wedding photography. Nancy brought 2 assistants with her to our wedding. She was on time and made sure that we stayed on schedule. It was evident that she studied our wedding day schedule and did her prep work ahead of time. We told Nancy prior to our wedding that our friends in the bridal party were on the quiet/shy side, so she was extremely helpful in coming up with poses for us and capturing candid shots throughout the day. Nancy was also great w kids; she had tons of tricks to get our hyperactive 5-year-old ring bearer to cooperate. She was also always present to capture those "aww" moments but without making us feel self-conscious or that she was being too intrusive. It only took her 1 month to give us a DVD for all 700+ pictures that she took. It took us "a while" (a-hem, a year to be exact) to select the ones we wanted for our album since they were all such great pictures! read more
