TLDR: you will be lucky to have Dr Wigginton as your OBGYN! When I found out I was pregnant, I relied on Yelp reviews to pick my OBGYN. I saw Dr Wigginton's glowing reviews I thought they were too good to be true. With this being my first pregnancy (and in COVID times) I had so many questions. Dr Wigginton was patient and calm, and always took the time to address everything on my mind and provided me with all the information I needed. She is also extremely personable and remembered details from my previous appointments and followed up on them and truly made me feel cared for as a patient. Jill, a nurse on her staff, was always friendly and easy to contact and I was able to schedule all my appointments easily as her schedule opened up each month. When it came time to deliver my baby (due on Thanksgiving week), she assured me she would try her best to be there. Lucky for me, she was on call that day and because of that, I had every confidence that my baby and myself would be in the best hands. The delivery went extremely smoothly and even one of the nurses that came by mentioned how much everyone on the floor loves Dr Wigginton. One caveat, she is super popular and books up, so be prepared to wait especially if you book an afternoon appointment and she runs late, but I do think that is a minor inconvenience to the amazing OBGYN that she is and great care you will receive. read more

Dr Wigginton has a warm and friendly personality. She is very thorough and takes her time to answer all your questions. I did not feel rushed even when she is running behind. Her practice is usually very booked and appointments are booked in advance. Her assistants are very friendly and accomodating. They reply to my messages in a timely matter via My Health Online. For my delivery, I wanted to have my OB there and Dr Wigginton comes in for her own patients even when she is not on-call unless she is out of town and that was a plus for me. Dr. Wigginton is a superb doctor. She is knowledgeable, caring, calm, happy & spends as much time with you as you need (I never felt rushed), listens to your concerns & addresses them. She has excellent bedside manner. My husband and I always felt comfortable during our appointments with her. Although the wait time for appointments run late, I don't mind waiting because I know she takes the time with every patient. This was my 1st pregnancy which was considered high risk & she took care of us (baby & I) until the very end. This review is for the scheduling. My wife has been tried to reach out to this doctor for scheduling over 2 months and has called multiple times. Even the scheduling agent felt embarrassed as Dr. Wigginton's office never returned our call and she controlled her schedule on her own so the scheduling agent couldn't do anything. The scheduling agent has helped to send multiple messages to her office and no one ever cared to reply for even a word. read more

Unfortunately, she is very busy and fully booked most of the time, so you have to book appointments with her months in advance. Dr. Wigginton saw me through our 3rd pregnancy delivery and follow ups. Everything went great. I was very nervous about birth this time as I was choosing to go naturally. She heard me, reassured me and was patient to talk to me during my appointments. I couldn't believe how present she was during my labor. It helps that I went into labor during her day shift. But she would leave the doctors' offices and come over to the clinic between her appointments to check on me. Her bedside manner is awesome. She even called me at home a few days after my daughter was born to check on me. I never experienced patient care like hers before. I highly recommend choosing her if what I described is what you're looking for. Side note: she books up early and fast. But it's for a good reason. Also appointments do start a little late sometimes but it's usually because she's been called to delivery or surgery and/or she's giving ALL of her patients the adequate time they need to be seen and heard. 10 stars if I could!! read more

Dr. Wigginton is a phenomenal doctor, by far the best doctor I have ever seen in my entire life. She truly cares about her patients and will never make you feel rushed or unheard. Any concern you have, she will happily address. Her M.A, Jill, is also amazing. She always makes sure you get all of your appointments scheduled and calls to let you know if any changes. Dr Wigginton is highly committed to her practice and her patients. She has came in to delivery both of my babies during her weekends/days off. My first delivery was in the middle of the night and she still came in and sat with us for hours until it was go-time. For my second, she rushed in on a Sunday afternoon. She has made feel so confident and comfortable during my pregnancy and delivery experiences and I honestly can't thank her enough. There is no one I'd prefer or trust more to see me through my pregnancies, deliveries and postpartum care. read more

Dr. Wigginton is wonderful. A month after moving to the Bay Area, I ended up with a chronic yeast infection, so I thought, and so urgent care tried to persuade me. After 3 urgent care visits and a month and a half, I resolved to see an OB/GYN, and decided to try Dr. Wiggington as she was in-network with my new insurance, and the only doctor accepting new patients. I am so glad I did - she immediately discovered that I actually had BV - the opposite of a yeast infection - and that I was on medication that would make it worse. She helped me get off medication and get my body back to normal quickly. She was warm and personable and made me feel completely comfortable during my exam. Even though I now live in Oakland, I happily drive back to Castro Valley or Dublin to see her for appointments. She always is prepped for her patients and is up-to-date on what your history is and who you are even if she hasn't seen you for 6 months or a year. She even recommended an excellent general practice PA to see when I get sick or have other problems, for which I'm tremendously grateful. The only caveat I'd mention is that she can run late. If her patients are late, especially if they are pregnant, she won't turn them away or make them reschedule, which can affect her afternoon appointment timeliness. Usually I've only waited 5-10 minutes in the morning, but I've waited up to 45 in the early afternoon. Again, I think this is a reflection of her deep caring for her patients, and shouldn't reflect on her professionalism. I'd simply recommend scheduling a morning appointment first-thing if your schedule is tight. read more

I love Dr Wigginton!! I was diagnosed with pre eclampsia at 34 weeks and after a week of close monitoring I ended up having to be induced 5 1/2 weeks before my due date. The day I had my baby she was not on call but assured me that she would be there no matter what even though it was her day off. She checked on me every step of the way and I was so happy she was able to deliver my daughter. Afterwards she was also very thorough with tests to make sure my health was all back to normal before being discharged. She is not only a great doctor but she also really cares about her patients! I really can't say enough about how awesome she is and how she made me feel so comfortable and at ease even though I was going through a stressful time. She is a wonderful doctor! read more

I can't thank this doctor enough for all her hard work during my pregnancy and postpartum time. She is so sweet and responds really fast to emails/messages. When I had to be induced, she came in on her day off just to check in on me, and the following day she was there to deliver my son (who took 3+ hours of pushing and came out face up). We had bad lucky with Dr. Nancy Wigginton. My appoitnments with her often got reschduled or canceled because Dr. Nancy Wigginton is fully booked out and sometimes she does not have backup. Until now I only saw her once druing my 8 -month pregancy, mostly, Nurse or physical assitance saw me. I have bad luck with Ob/Gyn doctors. It's not that they have been bad; I just can't seem to find one who doesn't retire, move to Kaiser, or decides they will not longer take insurance. Dr. Wigginton was my 7th Ob/Gyn in 22 years and I was really not looking forward to my appointment (I guess I don't know many women who would be all that excited about a gynaegology exam.) However, Dr. Wigginton put me at ease immediately, welcoming me with a warm, caring smile and friendly yet gentle demeanor. Made me wish she had bee the one to deliver my son. i would give negative stars if i could!!! NOT ONLY MESSED THINGS UP WITH ME BUT WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY!!!! this is more for her office then her as a doctor since i have never even gotten the chance to meet her. i'm 21 weeks pregnant. I started going to her office from the beginning of my pregnancy. i would make appointments 2 months in advance (never with her since she was too busy, only the other available doctor whom i didn't like how he talked to me at all) but it wasn't ever good enough. my first appointment was 9 weeks and everything went well. i saw the nurses which i was told would happen the first time. and loved them! they did an ultrasound as well. I then made an appointment for 13 weeks and 17 weeks. both with another doctor since she wasn't available at all apparently for 2 months. the week before my 13 week appointment i get a phone call saying that the doctor i was suppose to see wasn't available that day either! so they put me for the next day, ok w.e, only a little annoyed since that makes it harder for my husband to get time off without being given 2 weeks notice. but it all worked out. at the appointment the doctor talked to me like a was a little kid. okay, i know im young (22) but i am not dumb. you can say parents without calling them mommies and daddies...He then proceeded to tell me that if they found out my baby had down syndrome that i can abort the baby since most parents do. well thank you for giving me that only decision. i was very insulted by this since he didn't talk about my other options. fyi, i would never abort a baby at 22 weeks (or ever)! again a week before my 17 week appointment they called to say that the day my appointment was made for was open by mistake and that the doctor I was suppose to see (the same one from my 13 week appointment mind you) wasn't even in the office...okay, you had 2 MONTHS to tell me this...why did you wait a week until the appointment?!? i then told the woman don't bother to reschedule because i was going to look for a new office. a few weeks later i found a new doctor but to get my file sent to the new office i needed to fill out some paperwork. so i did and faxed it. a waited a week and heard nothing back. so i called. they said they never received it.THE NURSE HAD ACTUALLY NO IDEA I WAS EVEN Dr. WIGGINTONS PATIENT! IT WASNT IN MY FILE!!!! i wrote down the fax number again and sent it right after i got off the phone. I called a little while later and they again said they never received it. They then proceeded to give me another fax number to send it to so i did and never heard back from them. THE WORST PART OF ALL OF THIS!!!!: i get a phone call from my insurance company informing me that the doctors office filled out some papers incorrectly and never informed them who my doctor actually was (this was soooo suspicious to me, no one even the nurses knew i was suppose to be dr wiggintons patient?!?!). they had called over and over again the office never replied. so the insurance company said they're not getting paid the $600+ for my first appointment...sucks for them! I am currently 21 weeks and have not been able to see a doctor for 2 months thanks to them...because i cant seem to get my file sent to my new office!!! i wasnt a patient of dr. wigginton's. i didnt want to go to highland to give birth so i went to eden medical center the day i gave birth on 7/17/14. being a first time mom i was very nervous about giving birth not forgetting to mention that i was in pain. the nurses were very friendly especially roseanna. she introduced me to the doctor who would be delivering my baby which was dr. wiggington. she made me feel very comfortable and walked in with a smile and reassured me that everything would be ok. she continued to check on me while i labored and i wish i could have had her as my doctor throughout my pregnancy. ive seen some of the other reviews where they say she may run behind schedule. i honestly wouldnt have minded because of her mannerisms. she is really nice and while delivering she let me know everything that was going on. if i have more children and she is still working i want her to be my doctor. this was a wonderful experience for me read more

I've been seeing Dr. Wigginton now for the past 1.5 + years and although it's true that sometimes appointments need to be rescheduled because she had an emergency surgery (which if I was one of those patients, I would also hope she would prioritize me too!) and appointments run late, it is for a good reason! As another reviewer mentioned, it is because she takes time to care for each patient - never being hasty or rushed. It really comes down to personal preferences and a willingness to accept the trade-off. You could have a doctor who sticks to the schedule resulting in no-nonsense, straight down to business appointments (and would probably also make you come back if you want to address anything else outside of the window of your appointment), or you can look at it as if she's running late because she's taking the time to spend with each patient so when it's my turn, she'll also take that same care with me. She's warm, caring, patient, compassionate, and knowledgeable. There's a reason why she's booked - it's because she's good! read more

My 5 stars is solely based on Dr. Wigginton, as a doctor. I agree with others that it is a bit unfair that Dr. Wigginton's negative reviews are from those who have never seen her or have only seen her once. Dr. Wigginton has delivered and seen me through both of my pregnancies. i love her! I moved 45 minutes away, but continue to keep her as my doctor - she is that good. I will agree with others, however, in that it is very frustrating how busy she is. What is most frustrating is that the office will not schedule appointments months in advance. So you call to book an appointment for your yearly exam, and they will say, she is booked, and her schedule has not come out yet for the 2 months following and you have to call back. I have tried now 3 times to call for my WAY overdue annual, and each time, she has been booked, and i've been told to call back in a week or so to see if the schedule for the next month has come out yet. Very Frustrating. Hopefully they have or will change the way the do the schedules. I, however, did NOT have any issues with getting the appointments scheduled during my pregnancies... read more
