Dr, Debbie Cherry is a very warm and compassionate woman. She is very easy to get along with. She…read morereally knows her stuff. You can expect complete honesty from her. She is worthy of your trust. You can be completely candid with her and not be concerned she will judge you. She is a Christian woman. However; it is your choice whether you want Christian principles to be a part of your therapy. She does not shove it down your throat. She can sometimes be late in starting your sessions. She's a very busy woman. If she keeps you waiting longer than 10 minutes too often just tell her about it. She'll get herself back on track. This goes for any issues you may have with Dr. Cherry. If you are not happy with something she has said and/or done it is always okay to tell her so. She will accept responsibility if she feels you are correct and will work with you to find middle ground if you disagree. When she is certain she is not wrong she will be firm in her stance but not arrogant. She isn't someone that can be manipulated but, in knowing that, you can be secure in her ability to help you. If you are looking for a doctor that can help you through a rough time with caring, warmth, understanding and who is also very knowledgeable, Dr. Cherry is the one to see.

Her waiting room had either this wallpaper or painting that looked so similar to Gone with the Wind's Tara. It was truly beautiful and really helped me to be able to relax and not feel an undue stress or anxiety before my appointment began. Especially seeing as that was my favorite novel. Every time that I'd start to have a panic attack or my breathing would escalate Dr. Buckner always had a very soothing way of helping me stabilize it. She also helped me to reclaim my long time love of writing/journaling. I'd been wanting to start journaling again for a really long time but hadn't been able to after everything that I'd been through and been struggling with. You don't just feel as though it's therapist and patient the way that she listens and speaks to you, you feel as though it's just between friends. She genuinely gets to know you as not just a patient, but as a person and she jokes around with you about (always appropriate) things that she knows that you will appreciate the humor in and find funny. She also always sends you back into the world with these grains of wisdom that lead you onto a journey of self discovery and exploration to help give you the tools to be able to better yourself at the end of each and every day. She never judges you for the things that you disclose to her, which in this day and age is quite rare. I wish that she hadn't retired, she was amazing. =}
