I hired the venue for a work event so we had sole use for the evening but on most nights it is open to the public (you will need to book ahead). The bowling lanes are great fun and the karaoke room is sound proof meaning that it does not disturb the live music in the main room. The karaoke system is also of a high quality and has the largest collection of songs I have ever seen! There is also a hot tub which seems like a bit of an unusual addition - I didn't try that one out! The bar staff are friendly and at around £3.50 for a glass of wine the prices are reasonable. The venue is actually very difficult to find however as is also located in the same building as the Bloomsbury Lanes so it can get quite confusing when trying to locate the place. Kelly dealt with my booking and was fantastic - she made the day run as smoothly as possible and everyone had a great time. This would make a great venue for a Christmas Party.

Never very many staff about but you don't really need them you can control everything from the computerised board at your station. Ideal for kids of all ages they have rails for the lane that you can choose to have up for younger bowlers and they have a ramp thing to help the really young send the ball down. Amazing how good getting a strike feels even if playing against 8 year olds (especially as they usually win) its hard not to have fun. They have a bar and food probably best avoided. Clean and tidy it all works rather well. Always offers on so check their website. You will often find us here on teacher training days when the place is empty.

I wouldn't recommend 8 people for one hour though as time goes quite quickly. Everything is downstairs, is lit solely by LED and smaller than your regular bowling alley (only 4 lanes too) also it doubles up as a restaurant/bar. The décor is pretty cool too - giant lava lamps around and bowling related stuff. Reservation is essential as it gets booked up very quickly ...only 4 lanes you'd expect it. There is waiter service to the lane so you get food/drinks brought to you rather than waiting at the bar - quick service too. There's always deals going on here too so check the website before going and you could possible save a few squids. The cuisine is a blend of Italian and Indian (apparently the chef is very good) and they have a happy hour; classic cocktails for £4. Definitely worth checking out. Good for a night out after work with a few friends.

Although not my top choice, we met up with a few friends and ended up in City Limits because they decided the drink was cheap. I can now see why. The music was terrible, i had never heard of half the songs and i love my music. If it had even been cheesy music i could have coped with a few drinks, but it was just horrendous noise. The bar was over crowded and you had to wait about half hour to get served - with no sort of control over who was where first, just if you catch their attantion they may serve you. Then, the bouncers. A bunch of muscle heads who think they are important because they can control who comes in and who doesnt. I decided to leave because i just wasnt enjoying it, my OH ran out after me because i had forgotten the car keys and he shouted out to me - they told him that he wasnt allowed back in because he was too drunk? He wasnt drinking as he was on anti biotics! They didnt want to hear it, OH aske dif he could go and tell his mates they said no, so he shouted in to tell them - to which the bouncers DRAGGED him outside. OH went mad as he didnt understand why - then it just went crazy. Ended up having 4 bouncers STANDING on my OH, who is only a size 28-30 inche so not much of a threat!! They ended up breaking his arm, and when i tried to get them off they held me back for interferring!! Bouncer manager was a cocky lil * gone power mad. Obviously had no life and was taking it out on those who did! When we complained to the manager, they said they are dealing with the disciplinary procedures for them, yet nothing was heard after that - no phone calls returned nothing. You may even get a free game. As for prices, it is very very cheap. You can book a whole party for a teenager for just 10 pounds, it used to be so much more expensive! You can park the car by the house and gardens, and also at the bottom of the park. For the kids, there is a huge adventure playground (best to do this on the way out as it's right at the bottom of the park, miles from the house and gardens), which has a good range of play equipment for pretty much any age range. In the summer they have a free bouncy castle too. The gardens are seperated into different areas, and it is all very well signposted so you won't get lost. The dinosaur garden is really good, and the kitchen garden smells heavenly in the right seasons. There is a fun maze too. The house itself is really beautiful, and you can pay extra to have tours. I could go on forever explaining everything here, but I won't. Rest assured it is well worth the entrance fee. The cafe is really expensive so take a picnic!
